Vladimir Guerrero (267), Sammy Sosa (255), Luis Tiant (189), Jeff Kent (179), Vic Willis (161), Kenny Lofton (151), Bobby Bonds (133), Ben Taylor (130), Buddy Bell (130) and Tommy Bridges (106) will be the top 10 returnees for 2018.

Jorge Posada (95), Bob Johnson (86), Urban Shocker (80), Dick Redding (79), Phil Rizzuto (79), Wally Schang (79) and Sal Bando (68) rounded out the top 20.

Hall of Merit: 2017 Hall of Merit Election Results: Rodriguez, Ramirez and Edmonds elected!

Ivan Rodriguez, Manny Ramirez and Jim Edmonds will be the Hall of Merit’s class of 2017!

Pudge was the top vote getter on 21 of 26 ballots, earning 567 of 624 possible points. Ramirez lead three ballots, earning 545 points. Edmonds and Jim McCormick each drew one top vote and Edmonds finished with 454 points, far ahead of Vladimir Guerrero who finished fourth with 267 points.

Hall of Merit: Mock Hall of Fame Ballot 2017

IMPORTANT: Please read:

This election should follow BBWAA rules, not Hall of Merit rules. However, we hope to see only players that each voter feels belong on their ballots. Leaving 1st-year candidates off your ballot is also frowned upon. IOW, we would like to see an absence of some of the silliness that permeates Hall of Fame voting by the writers.

The election will end Thursday on December 22, 2016 (3 PM EST). Results will be posted a short time later.

Hall of Merit: Most Meritorious Player: 1998 Ballot

For 1998 each voter should rank the top 15 players from all leagues combined.

Balloting is scheduled to close at 4pm EDT on 2 November 2016.

Anyone can vote, even if you do not normally participate in Hall of Merit discussions. If you have never participated in an MMP election, just post a preliminary ballot in the discussion thread by 1 November 2016.
