I have been looking around and trying to figure out a couple of things regarding these two statistics. First of all, I have yet to find an explanation of how the guys over at BP decided the weighting for each statistic within the overal formula for EqA, any ideas? Secondly, which stat do you guys like better as an overall hitting metric? Finally, it seems like EqA is much more prevalent, is this because of the clout and level of respect that BP is held in in sabermetric circles?

In case anyone is interested, a friend of mine started a thread about this over at SoSH and Tango responded. Fairly interesting although it never really answers the key question he and I have about certain aspects of EqA. Still, it is very interesting nonetheless.
