This picture of Alex Gordon has a very familiar feel to it. Why?

Link to picture of Alex Gordon

It feels like I’ve seen a very similar photo of a Hall of Famer who played in the 50s and/or 60s, but I can’t track in down via Google. So, I’m hoping “baseball scholars” can outperform Google…

Not a bad match… The expression in particular.

I do feel like a batting donut also was prominent in the other picture I have in mind, but perhaps it’s just my mind playing tricks on me. Especially if donuts didn’t come along till later. (Does anyone know when they first started being used?)

It reminds me of a Bucky Dent photo that I have.
