AZ and I are headed to the ballpark on 7/18.  I just got the day off work.  Who wants to join us, stubhub up to 10 tickets on sale for $36 each, plus fees would be about $40.

Who wants to join us?

Count me in, and if things change, I will give up my seat or eat the cost. Thanks for coordinating.

That digression business got on my nerves. I don’t know. The trouble with me is, I like it when somebody digresses. It’s more interesting and all. But, I digress.

We should go out boozing afterwards.  Any suggestions?

I might have to consider a vacation out to the coast. I’ll have to look into when I can make it. I really wanted to get to the Stadium this season, and this is as good an opportunity as any.

I know some people in the city never look up at the spaces between the buildings they walk past every day

We should set a drop dead date.  Because we are buying tickets second hand, we have to limit ourselves to what is on stubhub.  Also, someone has to purchase and pickup the tickets (a local).  Thoughts on this?

SJ, I believe that Stubhub has a site right near the Stadium (~10 minute walk) where one can pick the tickets up on game day.  I did this last summer.  Also, since it’s so far in advance, can the tickets be mailed?

Yeah, probably.

Yeah, probably.

StubHub has a pickup window on the right field line side of the Stadium near the Subway line/157th Street /River Avenue end of the plaza.

I hope you all have a good time.  This will be my tenth wedding anniversary and the ninth anniversary of Cone’s perfect game.  So, I’ll raise a glass to you at some point that day.

Since he is the most respected poster in this thread, I nominate SJ for organizing the group (including ticket procurement/financing/distribution and meeting logistics).

Also, Dial told me he is in.  That makes six by my count (excluding Paul M).

I can’t afford to buy 6 tickets, its a cash flow issue.  Car ownership is ####### my #### right up.

If I get pay-or-play guarentees from all parties, I’ll put up the cash for the tickets.

Also, if I’m organizing, we need a drop dead date. Game is July 18. So...June 9? Does that give everyone enough time to plan?

That sounds reasonable, RB.  Thanks for volunteering.

Yeah, thanks, I appreciate it.  And If we can keep the ticket prices below $50, that would be great too.

Ok, so that’s:

Me
SJ
AZ
HCO
Dial
Scoriano

Others to consider (i.e., I will e-mail them): Repoz, Cowboy Popup, ACE1412 and...others?

Also, need a final ruling from Paul M.

June 9 remains our drop dead date. I will see what I can do about cheap-ish tickets.

Also, rLr and MHS (Rauseo).  I think tfbg9 lives in NYC but I haven’t seen him around lately.

Stubhub has groups of 8 available, for $45, in the UD, section 33.

That the best thing I could find.

Richard,

I’m in.  How about:

DMN
L3v5k1
Bob Gaj
Chad Johnson (whose handle I forget—CrosbyBird?)

Can give you a good faith deposit at your convenience.

CrosbyBird? My friends, if you can know only one thing in this life, know that Chad Johnson’s nom de plume is this godforsaken place is Shooty. Shooty! I scored free tix for this game from work so I’ll be sitting in the yuppie seats, being served crap beer and nachos by a sweaty waiter. I would be up for drinking afterwards, though. Have you guys thought of a post-game watering hole yet? A place called Citibar on the Upper Eastside would be good for a group of 8 or so. It’s always empty, they have big tables and they usually have 4 or 5 games going at once on the dish. Plus I feel it’s my personal responsibility to keep the place in business. It’s one of those places that tries really hard but can’t quite get it to work, like Babu’s diner. Of course, with my luck of good deedery, the place is probably a mafia front. Ah well. This is the life I’ve chosen…
