Rich,

Can you site mail me your cell number? Also I assume Ball Park Sports Bar an Grill is on the same street that Stans and the other watering holes are?

Correct. It is also the place with the bowling alley and the bag check. It is slightly further West of the train station than Stan’s. I find that if you move towards the back room with the bowling lanes, you can find more room, and they usually have a beer guy back there.

That digression business got on my nerves. I don’t know. The trouble with me is, I like it when somebody digresses. It’s more interesting and all. But, I digress.

What time you guys planning to meet before the game?  Trying to figure out when I need to leave work.

As Keeper of the Tickets, I’m planning to be at Ball Park Sports Bar & Grill (across River Avenue from Gate 6, which is right field) around 5:45, since that’s about how long it takes me to go from office to ballpark. If anyone wants my cell, I’ll site-mail it.

Now if there’s some terrible trouble on the 4 obviously I’m at the MTA’s mercy but that’s the plan for the moment. If there’s an outcry to go somewhere else I’m perfectly amendable to that, unless I hear otherwise that’s where you can find me and the tickets.

Also, if anyone is bringing checks they can be made out to Richard Barbieri (yes, like the guy in Porcupine Tree; no, we’re no relation). I figure people know my names around these parts, but just wanted to put it out in case.

Cool.  Any idea how long a trip it is from 125th to the Stadium?

Sent.

Having Google’d it, the bar is at the corner of River Avenue (i.e., the one the subway runs over) and 158th Street.

GGC: Real quick from 125. Two stops on the train (138th and 149th streets), 10 minutes top if everythig is running as it should be that time of day.

My cousin is now coming to the game, which means I won’t be able to meet up at the bar (he’s 15).  If anyone wants to meet up somewhere without booze, let me know, otherwise I’ll see you all at the game.

Since we are meeting at a bar w/bowling alley there is a chance he can enter. You might call ahead to check. (718) 665-5800 is what I googled.

Yes! We’re sneaking in Larry’s cousin and getting him tanked!

Indoctrinating Larry’s cousin into the ways of the Primates. Nefarious.

I don’t drink anyway, so it’s not a big deal.  I will regret not being able to hang out early with you guys, though.

Well, that is no reason not to try and hang with us if he can get in. Heck, I’m sure some of us would be happy to shoot the #### on the street outside the bar between sips. I’m not hard to find, I’ll be the good looking baseball dork trying to get away from Dial and his ever-present laptop.

I’ve got to go to the park, so I can’t call.  If you want to check and see if a 15-year-old can get in and fire me an email I would appreciate it, but I doubt it.

Blanton to the Phillies.  Guess we won’t be seeing him tomorrow after all.

Looks like we’re seeing Greg Smith in place of Blanton tonight

I am at the Bowling Alley (just parked my truck). They said no problem with the cousin as long as we meet on the bowling alley side, and we can still get all the drinks we want.

Wow. SF is dedicated to his pre-gaming. At the bar by 10:50 AM. That’s some job.

I will aim to be there betwixt 5:45 and 6.

EDIT: At Ball Park Sports Bar and Grill, that is.  I have to check a bag anyway.

As above, that’s when I’ll be there. Also, I will be wearing a Yankee jersey (home) and khaki shorts. Unless you arrive 30 or more seconds before me, I will have a beer.

Richard, thanks for coordinating this event.

It’s always fun to put faces with names.  A good group to hang out with at a Friday night game.

A good time was had by all, I believe. Dial has the official group photo, so I’ll leave it to him to post it.

A lot of different people took photos.  We could choose the best one

I believe Donald Lawrence also has a photo.
