Arizona Diamondbacks (74-84) at Los Angeles Dodgers (70-88) - 10:10 PM EDT

ARI: Nippert (0-0, 7.45)
LAD: Perez (7-8, 4.73)

I knew Frank McCourt was a real estate guy, but I didn’t realize he had given Dodger Stadium to the Diamondbacks.

Since the Dodgers are fielding their AAA team, the Dbacks are countering with a pitcher straight up from AA. I think Nippert will get his first major league win today. The battle for second place in the West will be vicious...

The Dbacks have lined up Vargas, Vazquez and Webb to pitch in their series at SF, to try to win 2nd place in the West. I'm all for beating up on the Giants...

SEASON SERIES: Diamondbacks, 12-5.

AZ is going for the third consecutive sweep. Yay!

You know why the Dodgers did so poorly this year?

Lack of character.

That's what the L.A. Times has told me.

The Angels were better because they have good character.

And here I was thinking that the Angels were better because they had good players while the Dodgers have crappy players.

Shows me.

Finley took his winning ways across the highway...

Plaschke gave Finley credit for not giving up on his season and hitting two home runs in September.

Plaschke has had a man-crush on Finley all season. That guy has gotten more free passes than a disgruntled moviegoer at his local 50-screen theater.

Vin Scully has brought up the point that if the DBacks win, they will be the first team to beat the Dodgers 8 times in a season in L.A.

Nippert got his first major league win. Sweep!

And the Dbacks are in sole possession of 2nd!

Bring on the gimp!
The gimp is sleeping.
I guess you're just gonna have to wake him up now...
