Greg did a good job on the scrub nicknames yesterday. According to the A's website, Macha wants Street, Calero and Halsey to get regular work. This means they think their problems have been too much rest. Also bodes well for Halsey on the postseason roster.

Macha also implied they want 2 backup infielders, so that's good for Perez and Jimenez. Not so much for Bocachica unless he plays some infield these next few games. DJ was brought up in August so that's a good sign for him.

I'm not sure about Saarloos vs Gaudin. I'd think they'd want Saarloos in case Harden hurts himself, but Gaudin's been the much more effective pitcher (albeit with mediocre peripherals) and Blanton's always there for emergencies.

Can't blame Macha for using Street/Calero last night:
After resting two-thirds of his starting lineup, plus his ace pitcher, Oakland Athletics manager Ken Macha decided to follow suit.

Bench coach Bob Geren managed the AL West champions to a 7-6 victory over the Seattle Mariners in a game that resembled spring training Wednesday night.

What's Bocachica's defense supposed to be like? Can stand at any position or can play any position?

Asking questions like that is just pointless.

I'd like to see them break out some pinch-hitters. I can't imagine anybody'd find that too taxing.

It takes an incredible amount of effort not to be able to find one of the holes in Napoli's swing.

It takes an incredible amount of effort not to smack the umpire on those last two pitches.

You're simply not going to beat Herb Washington in a sprint.
