Identical ERAs! I'd rather have seen Haren in Game 2 than Loaiza.

From ze Comical:
Perez to go on DL: Backup third baseman Antonio Perez will miss the Division Series after fracturing his right index finger on a grounder in the fourth inning Thursday. Perez remained in, but X-rays confirmed a fracture Friday. Macha said that the A's will add another position player to the playoff roster; Hiram Bocachica is the logical candidate. D'Angelo Jimenez, who played short for the third game in a row, already was expected to make the roster.

Normally I'd probably rather see Haren in game 2 too, but given how tired he's looked the last month or so, the week between starts will probably do him good.

I hope Bocachica plays some infield the last two games. Chavez is a good bet to need a substitute, particularly as a pinch runner. Too bad they jettisoned Rouse so quickly.

Herb Washington doesn't need healthy fingers. I'll take it, though, 'cause Bocachica can at least contribute something beyond an ability to run. In theory.

And is there seriously no TV tomorrow? An outrage.

Or didn't also call up Ginter when they waived Rouse. It's not like they didn't have a couple guys they could easily stow away on the 60 day DL for a month (Herrera, Meyer) to make room for Williams and Jimenez (or presumably Ginter).

And is there seriously no TV tomorrow? An outrage.

It's a football market, and with the lack of playoff implications one way or another, I guess they decided not to. Annoying though. All the games after that will be on TV though. I'm afraid of who the announcers will be though.

I wonder if Haren can go into the playoffs not looking like a sieve.

If Macha decides to appease Kotsay going forward, I won't be pleased.

Okay, since I can't watch, was the urine stain actually visible when Saunders was pitching to Frank?

Stop me if you've heard this before: entirely too-#######-many home runs.

The day you wake up with Curt Schilling's strikeout rate is the day it's okay to have his home run rate.

It sure would be nice if Haren gave us any sort of confidence in him before the playoffs.

Oh and Tigers get your #### together. God damn I don't want to see the A's in the Metrodome on Tuesday.

The way Detroit and Minnesota are playing this weekend, it's like they are both afraid of playing the A's and both want the Yankees. Should we be happy about that or scared?

Have Frank's lineouts been "lineouts" or "lineouts"?

He's a model and he's looking goo...erm, uh, on base.

Jeremy Brown and David Wells are probably the only guys in MLB who look worse naked than I do.

If Macha decides he needs to use Street for a 4 out save tonight, I will personally reach through the television and rip his lips off.
   22. Dig!!! JMM Dig!!! Posted: October 01, 2006 at 12:38 AM (#2193091)
Macha's lips, not Street's. But you knew that.
   23. Dig!!! JMM Dig!!! Posted: October 01, 2006 at 12:43 AM (#2193097)
I guess that seals Blanton's spot in the ALDS bullpen.
