Hmm, looks like NTNgod already put this game in the Astros' win column :)

You'd have to think this game is a must-win for the Astros. It's unlikely that they'll sweep the Braves in Atlanta over the weekend, so the best they could do is 3-1 in their last four. That means the Cards would, at best, have to go 2-2 against the Brewers, which would force them to play that makeup game with the Giants on Monday.

Still waiting? How long will they wait?

I would think they would wait as long as they possibly could for this game.

And hey, they're playin'.

Hats off to Roy Oswalt. The Bullpen really needed a rest after 15 innings -- and only 3 by the starter.

As the man said as he fell off the 83rd Floor Balcony --

So far, so good . . .

I would've kept Roy in for 1 more inning seeing that he was still under 100 pitches.
Assuming the Astros hold on for the win, does a 15-8, 3.00 ERA Oswalt have a strong case for CY YOUNG?
I guess it would help if Webb implodes in his last start.

Roy O certainly does have a Cy Young case. I'd give it to Trevor Hoffman personally, but between Oswalt, Webb, and Carpenter, their stats are relatively similar, so perhaps you give the nod to the guy who gets his team in the postseason and has pitched best down the stretch.

If the Astros pass up the Cards, Oswalt might be able to swipe it.

I've always thought Oswalt is underrated. If he doesn't pitch in relief the rest of the regular season, this will be his 4th season with a sub-3 ERA out of 6 seasons in the majors.

Oswalt might pitch a division tiebreaker Tuesday in Houston that would count in the regular season numbers.

If there were a tie-breaker and Oswalt got the win it, I'm pretty sure he'd win the Cy Young whether he deserved it or not.
