Oh, I wasn't thinking about the save, I guess.

Victorino steals.
   103. Sam M. Posted: August 21, 2008 at 09:56 PM (#2912330)
Oy, Ramon. Oy.
   104. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: August 21, 2008 at 09:56 PM (#2912332)
Bruntlett strikes out.
   105. Sam M. Posted: August 21, 2008 at 09:57 PM (#2912333)
Outfielders better be WAY in to cut off the bloop single if they can and throw out the runner if they can.
   106. Sam M. Posted: August 21, 2008 at 09:58 PM (#2912334)
Man, I thought sure Easley was gonna throw that ball away . . . . Whew . . . .
   107. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: August 21, 2008 at 09:58 PM (#2912335)
Yes!
   108. Alan S Posted: August 21, 2008 at 09:58 PM (#2912336)
Nice play Easley, even though Blanco was safe.

Bad luck for Blanco. Incorrectly called out and then knocked down by someone not even looking at him.
   109. Lassus Posted: August 21, 2008 at 09:58 PM (#2912337)
Ooooof awful call.

But he definitely looked no-doubt out in real-time.
   110. Sam M. Posted: August 21, 2008 at 09:59 PM (#2912338)
Two outs in Philly. Victorino now at 3rd.
   111. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: August 21, 2008 at 10:00 PM (#2912340)
Ruiz makes an out. Victorino on third, two out, Coste up.
   112. Lassus Posted: August 21, 2008 at 10:00 PM (#2912341)
I can't believe that no one noticed that he missed the bag, and that's why he was called out. He WAS out.
   113. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: August 21, 2008 at 10:00 PM (#2912342)
Should Murphy be PH for Evans?
   114. Lassus Posted: August 21, 2008 at 10:02 PM (#2912343)
Jesus god could we get a freaking run here, please?
   115. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: August 21, 2008 at 10:02 PM (#2912344)
If the Mets don't end this here, I don't like their chances.
   116. Lassus Posted: August 21, 2008 at 10:03 PM (#2912345)
You know what, Beltran could really use a walk-off.
   117. Sam M. Posted: August 21, 2008 at 10:03 PM (#2912346)
Over in Philly! Nats win!!!!
   118. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: August 21, 2008 at 10:04 PM (#2912347)
Nats win!
   119. Alan S Posted: August 21, 2008 at 10:04 PM (#2912349)
Huzzah!
   120. Sam M. Posted: August 21, 2008 at 10:05 PM (#2912351)
He's the man. He's the man.
   121. Lassus Posted: August 21, 2008 at 10:06 PM (#2912352)
I like Beltran's chances here.

Er, if they pitch to him.

Which they don't.

Make them pay, Carlos.
   122. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: August 21, 2008 at 10:06 PM (#2912353)
They are going to bring in Gonzo.
   123. Chris Dial Posted: August 21, 2008 at 10:06 PM (#2912355)
Of course you walk Beltran. Then you just have to get one batter.
   124. Sam M. Posted: August 21, 2008 at 10:07 PM (#2912356)
It's Nunez. Nobody warming up.
   125. Lassus Posted: August 21, 2008 at 10:07 PM (#2912357)
I'd love to see David surprise them with a steal of third.

A successful steal of third, I mean. I'm judging the end result.
   126. Sam M. Posted: August 21, 2008 at 10:08 PM (#2912358)
Then you just have to get one batter.

Hopefully, they never get past Carlos II . . . . He plates Wright, we all go home.
   127. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: August 21, 2008 at 10:08 PM (#2912359)
How about a hit, Delgado?
   128. Lassus Posted: August 21, 2008 at 10:09 PM (#2912360)
Good lord.

Condolences to the Braves fans.

I think that's the first time I've ever thought or said that.
   129. Alan S Posted: August 21, 2008 at 10:09 PM (#2912361)
Again, huzzah!
   130. Sam M. Posted: August 21, 2008 at 10:09 PM (#2912362)
BRAVES LOSE!!!!!!!

Because boys, we didn't really win that one. The Braves lost.

Wow.
   131. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: August 21, 2008 at 10:10 PM (#2912363)
Yes!
   132. Alan S Posted: August 21, 2008 at 10:10 PM (#2912364)
If the Braves had come into this series like 3 or 4 games back, this series, and that last play, would have been so much more satisfying.
   133. Sam M. Posted: August 21, 2008 at 10:10 PM (#2912365)
"Should I stay or should I go now?"

Darling with The Clash reference!!!

14 games over .500!
   134. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: August 21, 2008 at 10:11 PM (#2912366)
Condolences to the Braves fans.

Why would you say that? They swept the Mets the last time they played them. Screw that.
   135. Lassus Posted: August 21, 2008 at 10:11 PM (#2912367)
Looks like David actually missed the plate. Heh.
   136. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: August 21, 2008 at 10:12 PM (#2912368)
So awesome to pick up a game on the Phils when they were playing the Nats.

Funny to see Pelf with the rally hat.

Yay, Luis Ayala!
   137. Lassus Posted: August 21, 2008 at 10:12 PM (#2912369)
WELLLLLL I guess that was like 75 errors that helped out, don't judge me too harshly, Russlan. ;-)
   138. Chris Dial Posted: August 21, 2008 at 10:13 PM (#2912371)
Oh, that was SWEEEEEP!
   139. Lassus Posted: August 21, 2008 at 10:14 PM (#2912372)
I mean, helped out my sympathy.

I'll just take this door out.
   140. Chris Dial Posted: August 21, 2008 at 10:14 PM (#2912373)
YEs, teh MEts outhit the Braves - we won that game.
   141. Lassus Posted: August 21, 2008 at 10:15 PM (#2912375)
Marlins also lost. Whee!
   142. Sam M. Posted: August 21, 2008 at 10:15 PM (#2912376)
The Braves . . . now 15 games out. And playing every bit like it. When this year ends, it will be three years since their domination of the division ended. And we will be able to really start counting down the number of players left since their last division title . . . .
   143. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: August 21, 2008 at 10:15 PM (#2912377)
5-5 night for Delgado.
   144. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: August 21, 2008 at 10:17 PM (#2912378)
That's hometown scoring.
   145. Sam M. Posted: August 21, 2008 at 10:21 PM (#2912379)
Remaining members of the 2005 Braves:

Chipper Jones
Kelly Johnson
Jeff Francoeur
Brian McCann
Brayan Pena
Blaine Boyer
Chuck James
Tim Hudson
John Smoltz*
Kyle Davies*
Mike Hampton*

* - Still there now, but future with the team at least somewhat open to question, if not doomed.
   146. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: August 21, 2008 at 10:25 PM (#2912381)
Kyle Davies is a Royal.
   147. Sam M. Posted: August 21, 2008 at 10:28 PM (#2912382)
And so, actually, is Pena. Two more down.
   148. Lassus Posted: August 21, 2008 at 10:28 PM (#2912383)
Man, it is gonna be a good year for the playoffs in the NL this year. Dodgers, Cubs, Mets, and Brewers, I hope.
   149. Sam M. Posted: August 21, 2008 at 10:32 PM (#2912386)
From the Fun With Numbers Dep't:

1. The Mets are now on a 90 win pace.

2. The Nationals' tragic number is now 9. They are within fighting distance of the Mariners (6), so the Mets could be the first team to eliminate a team (from division title contention, at least) this year. The Reds (13) and Pirates (15) are next in line.

Oh, and just for grins, the Yankees' number is 25. ;-)

Coming from someone who was at this game, sitting just 15 rows behind 1st base, what sort of scoring took place on the Delgado "hit" that tied the game and the "hit" that won the game? Neither of those were hits. Prado made a terrible throw to Ohman, Kotchman being on Bereavement hurts I guess, and Infante, the utility infielder, misplays a ball in the field. Blanco would have made that play easily. Idk, just venting after another great 08 Braves game.
   151. Chris Dial Posted: August 22, 2008 at 10:45 PM (#2913648)
Neither of those were hits. Prado made a terrible throw to Ohman,
This is incorrect. Prado made a good play to get the ball in the first place. The definition of an error (or hit) is whether the play could be made with "ordinary effort". Ordinary effort, and that ball goes into RF.
