Kevin, I am going to the game with my niece.
   2. Dingbat Charlie Posted: September 02, 2008 at 06:28 PM (#2926394)
Montanez should play every day the rest of the way.
   3. Fancy Pants Handle Posted: September 02, 2008 at 06:45 PM (#2926411)
So, who are we rooting for in the Yanks - Rays series?
   4. kevin Posted: September 02, 2008 at 07:07 PM (#2926429)
OK.
   5. Brazilian Red Sox Fan Posted: September 02, 2008 at 07:09 PM (#2926430)
Is the gameday gun juiced? I didn't remember Lester could hit 97.
   6. Marcel Posted: September 02, 2008 at 07:13 PM (#2926431)
NESN gun is showing him at 95-97 too. He usually tops out at about 94
   7. Brazilian Red Sox Fan Posted: September 02, 2008 at 07:15 PM (#2926432)
Well, so far he's DEALING. Maybe that's why.
   8. Brazilian Red Sox Fan Posted: September 02, 2008 at 07:18 PM (#2926433)
WTF?! Where is Bay?
   9. kevin Posted: September 02, 2008 at 07:30 PM (#2926441)
Whoa. Super block by Tek!
   10. tfbg9 Posted: September 02, 2008 at 07:30 PM (#2926442)
!
   11. konaforever Posted: September 02, 2008 at 07:30 PM (#2926443)
Um, I have to see the replay on that!
   12. kevin Posted: September 02, 2008 at 07:30 PM (#2926444)
heck of a throw too.
   13. konaforever Posted: September 02, 2008 at 07:30 PM (#2926445)
That ball just died on the infield.
   14. konaforever Posted: September 02, 2008 at 07:32 PM (#2926446)
Yeah, he was safe.
   15. DKDC Posted: September 02, 2008 at 07:32 PM (#2926447)
Seriously, this umpiring has gotten out of control.

Why even play the game?
   16. Fancy Pants Handle Posted: September 02, 2008 at 07:34 PM (#2926448)
I for one embrace our new robotic overlords.
   17. Tuque Snider is the new Gagne_55 Posted: September 02, 2008 at 07:34 PM (#2926449)
I am outraged by that call.

Without Bay and Youkilis this lineup looks pretty anemic. This as well outrages me.
   18. Fancy Pants Handle Posted: September 02, 2008 at 07:36 PM (#2926451)
... and Drew, and Lowell.
   19. tfbg9 Posted: September 02, 2008 at 07:36 PM (#2926452)
Are they just resting Bay?
   20. Tuque Snider is the new Gagne_55 Posted: September 02, 2008 at 07:36 PM (#2926453)
oh right those guys too
   21. Fancy Pants Handle Posted: September 02, 2008 at 07:37 PM (#2926454)
...and don't forget Julio Lugo!!!
   22. DKDC Posted: September 02, 2008 at 07:40 PM (#2926456)
Thanks, little guy.
   23. konaforever Posted: September 02, 2008 at 07:41 PM (#2926457)
Wow. This might be the worst line up we've put out this year.
   24. Tuque Snider is the new Gagne_55 Posted: September 02, 2008 at 07:44 PM (#2926459)
Why would I want to remember Julio Lugo?
   25. tfbg9 Posted: September 02, 2008 at 07:47 PM (#2926463)
I don't like the looks of this...
   26. tfbg9 Posted: September 02, 2008 at 07:49 PM (#2926464)
Why would I want to remember Julio Lugo?

Well, he's got a .355 OBP.
   27. konaforever Posted: September 02, 2008 at 07:52 PM (#2926466)
Lester pulled a Dice-K
   28. tfbg9 Posted: September 02, 2008 at 07:52 PM (#2926467)
Get on base, you little sh1t.
   29. kevin Posted: September 02, 2008 at 07:52 PM (#2926468)
Why would I want to remember Julio Lugo?

In case you bump into him sometimes while with your wife, you'll know to cross the street.
   30. kevin Posted: September 02, 2008 at 07:53 PM (#2926469)
Beautiful bunt.
   31. tfbg9 Posted: September 02, 2008 at 07:53 PM (#2926470)
I like it when Coco does that.
   32. Fancy Pants Handle Posted: September 02, 2008 at 07:54 PM (#2926471)
Why would I want to remember Julio Lugo?

Well, he's got a .355 OBP.

And Cora has an OBP of .375. Yet, they both still suck.
   33. Fancy Pants Handle Posted: September 02, 2008 at 07:55 PM (#2926472)
In case you bump into him sometimes while with your wife, you'll know to cross the street.

Nah, I think I can take him...
   34. kevin Posted: September 02, 2008 at 07:56 PM (#2926473)
Nice.

Coco's making something happen.
   35. DKDC Posted: September 02, 2008 at 07:57 PM (#2926474)
A GIDP would be nice.
   36. tfbg9 Posted: September 02, 2008 at 07:58 PM (#2926475)
When Cora and Lugo think "on base" first, they're OK.
   37. Fancy Pants Handle Posted: September 02, 2008 at 07:59 PM (#2926477)
The Orioles catcher's outfit looks way more impressive than our stuff...
   38. DKDC Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:00 PM (#2926478)
Not smart, Rad.
   39. kevin Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:00 PM (#2926479)
Papi's going to make him pay.
   40. kevin Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:02 PM (#2926480)
Liz has pretty good heat though.
   41. tfbg9 Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:02 PM (#2926481)
Pah-PEE!
   42. kevin Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:03 PM (#2926483)
yeah!
   43. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:03 PM (#2926484)
Papi
   44. DKDC Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:03 PM (#2926485)
That's what you get for messing around with lesser hitters. Go after them.
   45. kevin Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:04 PM (#2926486)
Lowrie would have been safe too. He was 15 feet behind Ellsbury.
   46. kevin Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:04 PM (#2926488)
Oh well. Pedroia knocked him in anyway.
   47. Fancy Pants Handle Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:06 PM (#2926489)
Damn, I thought that was going to get to the wall...
   48. tfbg9 Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:06 PM (#2926490)
Theo=brilliant
   49. DKDC Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:09 PM (#2926491)
I hate this home plate ump.
   50. tfbg9 Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:12 PM (#2926492)
Jim Joyce? "The Banshee?"
   51. tfbg9 Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:13 PM (#2926494)
0-2 leadoff infield hit...f*ck!
   52. DKDC Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:14 PM (#2926496)
That's a good start.
   53. Dan Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:17 PM (#2926504)
Nice grab by Ellsbury.
   54. Fancy Pants Handle Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:17 PM (#2926505)
"The Banshee?"

That's my nickname for Celine Dion...
   55. kevin Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:18 PM (#2926506)
great catch.
   56. tfbg9 Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:20 PM (#2926513)
Lester looks like crap.
   57. tfbg9 Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:22 PM (#2926519)
He really does. Missing badly often.
   58. tfbg9 Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:23 PM (#2926520)
Caught a break--Big Tease Time.
   59. DKDC Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:23 PM (#2926521)
C'mon, Lou, you can't get beat like that by a guy who has nothing.
   60. DKDC Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:23 PM (#2926524)
Especially with Juan Castro on deck.
   61. tfbg9 Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:24 PM (#2926526)
0-2...HUGE tease time.
   62. tfbg9 Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:24 PM (#2926527)
Finally decided to throw a good pitch. Nice pitch kid.
   63. Fancy Pants Handle Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:29 PM (#2926536)
Rays 1-0 up against the Yanks. Good or bad?
   64. DKDC Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:30 PM (#2926538)
Go Rays.
   65. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:31 PM (#2926541)
Go Yanks.
   66. DKDC Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:32 PM (#2926542)
Just when I thought Red Sox fans couldn't stoop any lower. Shameful.
   67. tfbg9 Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:32 PM (#2926543)
Bullpen Band-up or down?

I say up.
   68. kevin Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:32 PM (#2926545)
Nice.
   69. tfbg9 Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:32 PM (#2926547)
Go Rays. Rays Rays Rays. Biff is nuts. There's hate involved here!
   70. kevin Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:32 PM (#2926548)
Yankees are out of it, Fancy.
   71. kevin Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:33 PM (#2926551)
That's the second time he made a throw to the left in the dirt.
   72. Dan Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:34 PM (#2926553)
Bullpen band up.

Rooting against the Yankees takes precedence. Maybe they can even fall to 4th place in the division.
   73. tfbg9 Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:35 PM (#2926557)
Dan is showing wisdom.
   74. kevin Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:35 PM (#2926558)
Papi will ice it here.
   75. Fancy Pants Handle Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:35 PM (#2926559)
I know they're out kev... still, I somehow can't bring myself to root for the Yanks...
   76. tfbg9 Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:35 PM (#2926560)
Pah-PEE!!!
   77. kevin Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:36 PM (#2926561)
Yup.
   78. Fancy Pants Handle Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:36 PM (#2926564)
How is "Leece" still in the game btw?
   79. kevin Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:36 PM (#2926566)
I understand, man. Neither can I.
   80. DKDC Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:36 PM (#2926567)
Nice outing, Rad. Seriously impressive. Way to get walloped by the Red Sox JV team.
   81. kevin Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:38 PM (#2926571)
I kind of like the way Bailey hits. It looks like he has reasonable mobility too. Think he can stick a utility guy?
   82. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:38 PM (#2926572)
Despite hating the Yankees and wanting them to fail, it's more important that we take the division, given how good the Devil Rays are at home and we are at home, were the two teams to meet in the ALCS.

They can lose every non-Devil Rays game.
   83. Fancy Pants Handle Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:38 PM (#2926573)
...I posted that before papi hit the double btw (well, before I saw it anyway)
   84. konaforever Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:40 PM (#2926576)
Ah. There's the MVP!
   85. Dan Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:40 PM (#2926577)
That was cranked.
   86. kevin Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:40 PM (#2926578)
Holy ####!!! He ####### crushed that!!!
   87. tfbg9 Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:40 PM (#2926579)
ummm...that little midget f*cker just hit the living crap outta that pitch...
   88. kevin Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:40 PM (#2926580)
The rout is on.
   89. tfbg9 Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:41 PM (#2926581)
Coke.
   90. konaforever Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:41 PM (#2926582)
I wanna see Pedroia wih a .500 slugging pct!
   91. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:41 PM (#2926584)
How surprising is it that Pedroia might hit 20 HR? Would anyone other than kevin and Pedroia himself have predicted that before the season started?
   92. Fancy Pants Handle Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:41 PM (#2926585)
I have a man crush on that little guy
   93. kevin Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:41 PM (#2926586)
He's going to slug over .500. Unreal.
   94. kevin Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:42 PM (#2926589)
What's amazing is how he just wails away as hard as he can and still maintains perfect bat control.
   95. Fancy Pants Handle Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:43 PM (#2926591)
Eh, I wouldn't have predicted it, but I wouldn't have ruled it out as impossible...
   96. DKDC Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:44 PM (#2926594)
Suddenly that blown call early in the game doesn't seem so important.

You know it's time to turn of the game when the little guy is cranking them out of the park. There's nothing more dependable than the O's going into early hibernation in September.

Guthrie has been scratched from tomorrow's start, so this is pretty much the sweep right here.
   97. Dan Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:44 PM (#2926596)
Wow, the Rays only have 1 run on 7 hits in 4 innings. That's a Red Sox level of squandering.
   98. kevin Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:45 PM (#2926598)
I sympathize, DKDC. I miss the days when the Orioles had a good front office.
   99. kevin Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:46 PM (#2926600)
Another nice catch by Ellsbury.
   100. Mike Hampton's #1 Fan Posted: September 02, 2008 at 08:46 PM (#2926602)
Assuming Lester gets through the 5th, I'd like to see him pulled then -- he threw almost 120 last time out, and with this game pretty much in the bag, no need to run him ragged.
