Nice start. 0-2 double.
   2. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: September 03, 2008 at 01:43 PM (#2927576)
Kotsay at first, eh?
   3. Dan Posted: September 03, 2008 at 01:45 PM (#2927578)
Great job, Crisp.

Of course, it was the third time in three batters that Daisuke gets ahead of a guy with 2 strikes and can't put him away.
   4. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: September 03, 2008 at 01:53 PM (#2927595)
Wow. The girl was way out of that guy's league.
   5. jacksone (AKA It's OK...) Posted: September 03, 2008 at 02:08 PM (#2927616)
48 pitches already? Ugh.
   6. DKDC Posted: September 03, 2008 at 02:09 PM (#2927617)
Oh, a day game.
   7. jacksone (AKA It's OK...) Posted: September 03, 2008 at 02:10 PM (#2927622)
DKDC - They do sneak up on you, I just tuned in as well.
   8. PJ Martinez Posted: September 03, 2008 at 02:16 PM (#2927638)
.331
   9. Dan Posted: September 03, 2008 at 02:17 PM (#2927644)
Damn, I thought that ball was going to carry more.
   10. DKDC Posted: September 03, 2008 at 02:18 PM (#2927645)
So did Bay. He got a nice long look at it.
   11. Dingbat Charlie Posted: September 03, 2008 at 02:33 PM (#2927667)
Lance Cormier, our new ace.
   12. jacksone (AKA It's OK...) Posted: September 03, 2008 at 02:34 PM (#2927671)
Stunning display of hitting there by the Sox

Ground to pitcher
Ground to catcher
Ground to second

POWER

The Revenge of the Nibbler!

Luuuuuuuuuuke!
   15. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: September 03, 2008 at 02:40 PM (#2927679)
Great to wake up and see dice k sucking
   16. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: September 03, 2008 at 02:42 PM (#2927682)
Watching Dice K pitch this year has been one of the more painful baseball experiences of my life.

I'd rather watch Grady blow game 7 again
   17. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: September 03, 2008 at 02:45 PM (#2927689)
We're going to lose this game, aren't we? How depressing.
   18. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: September 03, 2008 at 02:46 PM (#2927691)
####### loser cant get out the bottom of the order. He shits me sideways.
   19. DKDC Posted: September 03, 2008 at 02:46 PM (#2927692)
Cormier isn't a starter, so I think he may be done.

6 innings against the O's bullpen with a 4 run deficit? Advantage, Boston.
   20. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: September 03, 2008 at 02:47 PM (#2927696)
All those fans who give us #### about how much fun we have watching Shits K pitching, are watching this game I assume?
   21. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: September 03, 2008 at 02:49 PM (#2927699)
Jay ######## will blow this wide open
   22. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: September 03, 2008 at 02:50 PM (#2927701)
Maybe not - but #### him anyway.
   23. DKDC Posted: September 03, 2008 at 02:51 PM (#2927706)
That's something we can agree on.
   24. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: September 03, 2008 at 02:55 PM (#2927713)
Jed hacks at balls off the plate and stares at one right down the plate - awesome. Followed up by a cracker at bat from Ortiz
   25. jacksone (AKA It's OK...) Posted: September 03, 2008 at 02:56 PM (#2927715)
Why is Cormier out? Just a fill in spot start with no little arm strength?
   26. Dingbat Charlie Posted: September 03, 2008 at 02:57 PM (#2927720)
Just a fill in spot start

bingo.
   27. DKDC Posted: September 03, 2008 at 02:58 PM (#2927723)
Trembley set a 3-inning cap for Cormier before the game, and Trembley always keeps his word (except to Scott Moore).

It's a little silly since Cormier has thrown more pitches than this a half dozen times this season.
   28. Dingbat Charlie Posted: September 03, 2008 at 02:59 PM (#2927725)
though he might stick in the rotation because everybody else is hurt or terrible (or both).
   29. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:01 PM (#2927730)
Ellsbury is ridiculous in the field.
   30. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:01 PM (#2927733)
Ellsbury!!!!111 is a freak - that might wake the team up
   31. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:02 PM (#2927736)
How in the #### are you walking Oscar Salazar?
   32. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:03 PM (#2927737)
You had to walk someone this inning, didn't you?

shits me
   33. Textbook Editor Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:04 PM (#2927740)
Watching ALCS 2003 Game 7, 8th inning is not something I ever want to live through again. I imagine that, should I be destined for hell, that inning is what Satan will make me watch for all eternity.
   34. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:13 PM (#2927754)
This is a joke - thankfully the girls are up soon so I don't have to watch this #### anymore
   35. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:18 PM (#2927760)
Don't know why I mentioned game 7 actually
   36. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:25 PM (#2927766)
Coco can't hit a fastball down the middle. Thanks Coco.
   37. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:25 PM (#2927767)
It's amazing how bad Coco is - just amazing
   38. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:26 PM (#2927768)
The funny thing is that Daisuke is going to get a "quality start".
   39. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:27 PM (#2927773)
This dude has walked 60 batters in 74 innings entering the game, so why aren't we drawing walks off of him?
   40. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:28 PM (#2927776)
And Ellsbury chases ball 4 right after I post that.
   41. Dingbat Charlie Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:29 PM (#2927782)
Geez Sarfate, if you'd pitched like this when you got a starting tryout you might not have blown it.
   42. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:29 PM (#2927784)
Good to see we are being mowed down by Sarfarte, even though it was a mile off the plate
   43. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:29 PM (#2927786)
That was such a feeble looking swing from Lowrie.

What a pathetic offensive effort today.
   44. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:30 PM (#2927788)
Hurry up and wake up girls
   45. DKDC Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:31 PM (#2927789)
That wide strike 3 call makes up for Quiroz's "swinging strike" to end last inning.

Sarfate has good stuff. His command is a bit jekyll-and-hyde, so there's no shame in getting beat by him on one of his good days.

Cormier just plain sucks, though.
   46. Dingbat Charlie Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:33 PM (#2927797)
shall I keep watching gameday and refreshing BTF or do this research assignment on catheters?
   47. DKDC Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:36 PM (#2927806)
Option B, Charlie.

I wish these guys would tack on some more runs. I still don't see any way this lead holds.
   48. Dingbat Charlie Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:37 PM (#2927808)
Jamie Walker. catheters it is.
   49. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:38 PM (#2927813)
Sure, a line drive right at someone, just what we wanted.
   50. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:39 PM (#2927815)
MIDGET!
   51. DKDC Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:40 PM (#2927817)
Yep, Walker is done.
   52. jacksone (AKA It's OK...) Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:40 PM (#2927818)
you have got to be kidding me
   53. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:41 PM (#2927822)
The call to get Kotsay to 0-2 was a joke

Go Dusty
   54. jacksone (AKA It's OK...) Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:41 PM (#2927823)
he's playing pretty well right now.
   55. DKDC Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:43 PM (#2927828)
I missed the HBP.

Did it look like retaliation for Bay mugging his warning track fly earlier?
   56. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:43 PM (#2927830)
He hit him on the foot. It just got away.
   57. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:44 PM (#2927833)
I can't believe Cora got away with that. The bunt was perfect and he still was almost out.

Coco Crisp. There's the man you want up in this situation.
   58. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:45 PM (#2927834)
Smart little ballplayer
   59. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:46 PM (#2927836)
Pinch hit Bailey for Coco here please tito
   60. Dingbat Charlie Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:46 PM (#2927837)
Walker comes in and everything goes to ####? shocking!
   61. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:47 PM (#2927840)
Dammit Coco, lean into that one.
   62. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:48 PM (#2927843)
####### Coco

Might as well get in early
   63. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:48 PM (#2927844)
I predict at some point, Coco swings at a ball and pops it up.
   64. DKDC Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:48 PM (#2927845)
Which is tastier? Rocky Cherry or Coco Crisp?
   65. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:48 PM (#2927847)
take the 2-0
   66. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:49 PM (#2927849)
Hooray, the best possible outcome!
   67. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:50 PM (#2927850)
I cant believe Coco drew a walk
   68. DKDC Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:50 PM (#2927851)
Please stop the bleeding. HBP, BB, Bunt Single, BB?
   69. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:50 PM (#2927852)
Gift strike on the first pitch to Ellsbury. No way that was a strike.
   70. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:50 PM (#2927854)
And that forces Ellsbury to swing at the 0-1 in the same location, even though it's a ball.
   71. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:51 PM (#2927855)
1-2 also in the same location, but not a strike anymore.
   72. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:52 PM (#2927858)
Feh. At least we got it to the good hitters again.
   73. DKDC Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:52 PM (#2927860)
Thank god for Jacoby Ellsbury.
   74. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:53 PM (#2927863)
Annoying and I agree with 69-71
   75. ekogan Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:56 PM (#2927876)
Ellsbury seems to be standing much farther away from the plate than other hitters.
Why?
   76. Dan Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:58 PM (#2927882)
Because he wants pitchers to pitch him away.

Guys who lean over the plate are looking for pitches inside, guys who stand off the plate are looking for pitches away, generally speaking.
   77. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: September 03, 2008 at 03:59 PM (#2927884)
Getting stolen on by Aubrey Huff is not optimal.
   78. DKDC Posted: September 03, 2008 at 04:02 PM (#2927887)
Did he even tag him?
   79. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: September 03, 2008 at 04:03 PM (#2927890)
He tagged him. I'm not without bias, but it looked pretty clear to me.
   80. DKDC Posted: September 03, 2008 at 04:03 PM (#2927891)
That's the same umpire that screwed them over on the home plate call last night.

If you can't see the tag, ask another umpire, jackass.
   81. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: September 03, 2008 at 04:07 PM (#2927896)
Are you ####### shitting me? How could you say he went there?
   82. DKDC Posted: September 03, 2008 at 04:09 PM (#2927899)
Well, we've already established that Jim Joyce is a terrible umpire.

I didn't think the call was that bad, though.
   83. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: September 03, 2008 at 04:10 PM (#2927902)
Pedroia was looking for the tie right away there...
   84. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: September 03, 2008 at 04:10 PM (#2927903)
I don't think the "MVP" chants are going to help him. If anything, I think it might make him "try" for home runs, which is not generally a good idea.
   85. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: September 03, 2008 at 04:12 PM (#2927904)
Well, that's good enough for me.
   86. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: September 03, 2008 at 04:12 PM (#2927905)
With this game, his SLG's gotta be over .500 now. Too lazy to do the math myself to be sure though.
   87. jacksone (AKA It's OK...) Posted: September 03, 2008 at 04:13 PM (#2927907)
holy hell he is on fire
   88. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: September 03, 2008 at 04:13 PM (#2927908)
Pedroia is ####### awesome - please dont squander here guys
   89. DKDC Posted: September 03, 2008 at 04:14 PM (#2927912)
Well, he's definitely the most valuable player that I don't want on my team.
   90. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: September 03, 2008 at 04:14 PM (#2927913)
Kotsay! Go-ahead run on third!
   91. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: September 03, 2008 at 04:14 PM (#2927914)
Swings at ball 3
   92. Dan Posted: September 03, 2008 at 04:14 PM (#2927915)
Kotsay has been a ####### beast
   93. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: September 03, 2008 at 04:15 PM (#2927917)
yee ha!
   94. PJ Martinez Posted: September 03, 2008 at 04:15 PM (#2927918)
This is getting ridiculous. If Pedroia really does hit .330 with 20 HRs, and the Sox get close to TB and make the playoffs, he could definitely finish top 3 in the MVP voting.
   95. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: September 03, 2008 at 04:15 PM (#2927919)
#### you lag
   96. DKDC Posted: September 03, 2008 at 04:16 PM (#2927921)
Nice, Adam.
   97. Golfing Great Mitch Cumstein Posted: September 03, 2008 at 04:16 PM (#2927922)
Biff,

Time for a name change to "Red Sox Reverse Jinx."
   98. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: September 03, 2008 at 04:19 PM (#2927927)
####. All we needed there was a damn productive out.
   99. ekogan Posted: September 03, 2008 at 04:19 PM (#2927929)
It seems that Jones should've caught Kotsay's triple. Did he get fooled or was playing very shallow?
   100. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: September 03, 2008 at 04:19 PM (#2927930)
terrible at bat by Bay
