Ellsbury is cold as ice.
   302. tfbg9 Posted: May 11, 2008 at 10:45 PM (#2777411)
He's not coming back out is he?

Unless they go ahead.
   303. Darren Posted: May 11, 2008 at 10:45 PM (#2777412)
Cora's OBP the past 3 years is about .295, with no power. It would be nice to have Lowrie coming off the bench instead. He seemed to respond well to sporadic playing time.
   304. Marcel Posted: May 11, 2008 at 10:45 PM (#2777413)
I will be so pissed if they don't use this game as a chance to give MDC a no-leverage inning to get himself back on track.
   305. The Answer to the TWolves (GMoney) Posted: May 11, 2008 at 10:46 PM (#2777414)
Fleet footed Pedroia.
   306. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: May 11, 2008 at 10:46 PM (#2777416)
They will stick with that dogshit excuse for a ballplayer Lugo - it does not matter.
   307. ekogan Posted: May 11, 2008 at 10:46 PM (#2777417)
well, that's the ballgame
   308. Darren Posted: May 11, 2008 at 10:46 PM (#2777418)
Pedroia just missed a hanger there.
   309. Chip Posted: May 11, 2008 at 10:46 PM (#2777419)
For chrissakes Pedroia. That's the second time you've chased a ball at your ankles early in the count. YOU DON'T ####### DO THAT WHEN ORTIZ IS ON DECK AS THE TYING RUN!
   310. tfbg9 Posted: May 11, 2008 at 10:49 PM (#2777421)
Chip is angry.
   311. plink Posted: May 11, 2008 at 10:50 PM (#2777422)
#######! I have MLB.tv, and I have to watch this craptastic game via some terrible memory-eating software. That's some chutzpah - to advertise for MLB.tv during a blacked-out game.

Also, shame on you, Pedroia.
   312. tfbg9 Posted: May 11, 2008 at 10:51 PM (#2777423)
GLB.

I like his glove a lot.

His bat is pretty bad. Every once in a while, it seems situationally OK. As if he has some kind of
idea up there, I dunno.
   313. Chip Posted: May 11, 2008 at 10:52 PM (#2777425)
Mildly annoyed, especially because he seems to have paired many of his more awful ABs lately with Ellsbury's.
   314. tfbg9 Posted: May 11, 2008 at 10:52 PM (#2777426)
The Duralast jingle is up there with the Clapper jingle for awfulness.
   315. ekogan Posted: May 11, 2008 at 10:52 PM (#2777427)
That's the second time you've chased a ball at your ankles early in the count.

There are no bad pitches. There are just pitches that Pedroia allows to get to the catcher's glove
   316. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: May 11, 2008 at 10:53 PM (#2777428)
Left Handed Slinger - Lopez.

More a left handed pie chucker if you ask me...
   317. Dan Posted: May 11, 2008 at 10:55 PM (#2777429)
That was a nice play.
   318. ekogan Posted: May 11, 2008 at 10:55 PM (#2777430)
Ellsbury1
   319. tfbg9 Posted: May 11, 2008 at 10:56 PM (#2777431)
Dusty's BB rate is now <5.8%, last year it was 8.3, he's K'ing more.

Elssbury can really go get it.
   320. Chip Posted: May 11, 2008 at 10:59 PM (#2777433)
Since his early hot streak had him peaking at .364 on April 22, Pedroia's line in the next 17 games (77 PAs):

.240/.247/.280

Only two walks in that span. That's a pretty long stretch of suck.

Ellsbury peaked at .308 on that same date. Since then:

.250/.306/.268

So suck, doubled, at the top of the order for three weeks.
   321. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:02 PM (#2777434)
That looked a little inside to Lowell
   322. tfbg9 Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:02 PM (#2777436)
We'll be 9-9 in games since then, 4/22.
   323. Chip Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:05 PM (#2777440)
We'll be 9-9 in games since then, 4/22.

Yeah, not a coincidence. The only thing that's kept them at that leve is the starting pitching has gbeen much better over that stretch, Buchholz and Wakefield's most recent starts excepted.
   324. Dan Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:06 PM (#2777443)
Come on Drew, let's see some yard work here!
   325. tfbg9 Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:06 PM (#2777444)
The Big, Big Tease. As Drew will GIDP.
   326. Dan Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:07 PM (#2777446)
I remember April 11th. JD Drew looked so good then...
   327. Chip Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:07 PM (#2777448)
Another good point from Morgan: holding Lowell is dumb. Especially with Drew's propensity for aiming at that hole.
   328. Marcel Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:09 PM (#2777450)
whoo-hoo!!!!
   329. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:09 PM (#2777452)
Wow, Gomez totally ###### up that ball.
   330. Dan Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:09 PM (#2777451)
More "great CF play" from Gomez!
   331. ekogan Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:09 PM (#2777453)
yes!
   332. Chip Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:09 PM (#2777454)
Nice route, Carlos.

Coco catches that.
   333. tfbg9 Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:09 PM (#2777455)
A spiralling rocket.
   334. Chip Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:10 PM (#2777456)
Manny on deck.
   335. Dan Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:10 PM (#2777457)
Come on Crisp, just a single here
   336. ekogan Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:11 PM (#2777458)
That was an ugly play, but Gomez is 9th in MLB in RZR among CF.
   337. Chip Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:11 PM (#2777459)
Coco, relax.
   338. tfbg9 Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:11 PM (#2777460)
Oh, pay attention Coco.
   339. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:11 PM (#2777461)
This is a real big tease!
   340. tfbg9 Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:11 PM (#2777463)
Wow, what a play.
   341. Dan Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:12 PM (#2777464)
Son of a #####
   342. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:12 PM (#2777465)
Bleh.

It's up to Manny.
   343. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:12 PM (#2777466)
coco should have gone to second, right?
   344. Chip Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:12 PM (#2777467)
I can't believe that just happened.

I thought Drew was fast.
   345. Chip Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:12 PM (#2777469)
Coco has to steal second. Of course, if he does that, they walk Manny.
   346. ekogan Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:12 PM (#2777468)
poor baserunning JD
   347. tfbg9 Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:13 PM (#2777470)
Drew hesitated for some reason.
   348. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:13 PM (#2777471)
damn damn damn
   349. ekogan Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:13 PM (#2777472)
Manny at the bat
   350. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:13 PM (#2777473)
must steal
   351. Dan Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:14 PM (#2777475)
Are they going to IBB Manny?
   352. ekogan Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:14 PM (#2777476)
Manny won't get a pitch to hit - it's up to Cora
   353. tfbg9 Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:14 PM (#2777477)
No.
   354. Chip Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:15 PM (#2777478)
More evidence of Manny's decline phase.
   355. Dan Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:15 PM (#2777479)
And the HR allowed by Timlin looms large. Sigh.
   356. ekogan Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:15 PM (#2777480)
what a tease
   357. tfbg9 Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:15 PM (#2777481)
Ah crap. Big Big Tease it was.
   358. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:15 PM (#2777482)
what a ####### crap loss
   359. Vaux, A.B.D. Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:15 PM (#2777483)
That was a stupid game.
   360. Chip Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:15 PM (#2777484)
Timlin's HR proves the difference.
   361. Miko Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:16 PM (#2777485)
that or all those runners they failed to score.
   362. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:17 PM (#2777486)
This was not a game they should have lost. Bleh.
   363. Chip Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:17 PM (#2777487)
Only appropriate that they have another LOB.
   364. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:17 PM (#2777488)
I think the runs that pissed me off the most were number 6 & 7. That was just silly.

Tavarez and Timlin are ####### #### and I hope they never pitch for the Red Sox again , however

See you tomorrow guys
   365. ekogan Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:17 PM (#2777489)
Lamb robbing Youk of a hit with bases loaded was the key moment
   366. Chip Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:18 PM (#2777490)
All three losses on this road trip so far have been of the annoying 1-run variety.
   367. ekogan Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:19 PM (#2777491)
Karma's catching up with the sox for all those 1-run wins in April
   368. tfbg9 Posted: May 11, 2008 at 11:21 PM (#2777493)
Night all.
