Is Drew out because of the lefty starter or because of the vertigo?
   3. Dan Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:08 PM (#2801445)
Good start!
   4. Dan Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:08 PM (#2801446)
Morning Phil.
   5. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:08 PM (#2801447)
Bit of both Dan I assume
   6. Dan Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:09 PM (#2801448)
Steal! GO GO GO
   7. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:09 PM (#2801449)
Let's hope Pedroia doesn't come out hacking after that 4 pitch walk
   8. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:10 PM (#2801450)
The girls are scared of Fugazi
   9. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:11 PM (#2801452)
Seriously , why hasn't he stolen yet?
   10. Dan Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:15 PM (#2801453)
I'd settle for a single here, #500 can wait.
   11. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:16 PM (#2801455)
Seems he didn't go through - I can't believe umps are allowed to call that at home. #### these O's announcers are wankers
   12. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:20 PM (#2801457)
Kid can field
   13. Dan Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:22 PM (#2801458)
Does Mora beat that out if he doesn't slide? I think so.
   14. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:25 PM (#2801461)
Dive never did make sense
   15. Dan Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:26 PM (#2801462)
Why is it that Youkilis hasn't had the "Greek God of Walks" walk rate in the majors?
   16. Chip Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:28 PM (#2801463)
Good to see that Youkilis has started his second half slump early.

Hey, Varitek breaks his 0-18 streak!
   17. Dan Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:30 PM (#2801464)
Tampa Bay is up 2-0 in the 4th now with Kazmir on the hill.

Doesn't look like we'll get a chance to get back even tonight.
   18. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:32 PM (#2801465)
Youks looks like rubbish - this team is scraping the barrell right now with half of them in excellent slumps
   19. Dan Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:34 PM (#2801468)
Come on Lester, you can't be walking ####### Millar.
   20. Chip Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:35 PM (#2801469)
Leadoff walk. Guaranteed to score, right?
   21. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:35 PM (#2801470)
Lead off walk to the fearsome cleanup hitter for the Orioles
   22. Chip Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:35 PM (#2801471)
Ahead 0-2. Finish him.
   23. Dan Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:36 PM (#2801472)
WHAT THE #### IS THAT VARITEK
   24. Chip Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:37 PM (#2801473)
Oh my god Tek.

Added to his horrible throws yesterday, he's had a horrible defensive series.
   25. Dan Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:37 PM (#2801474)
Nice curveball.
   26. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:37 PM (#2801475)
I'm loving where this game is heading already considering we are all but sure of not scoring more than 2 runs tonight
   27. Chip Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:38 PM (#2801476)
Nice curve.

Annoyingly familiar, however, that he threw two pitches before that that were so bad it was easy for Huff to take and get the count even. That's typical sucky Lester, not no-hit Lester.
   28. Chip Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:40 PM (#2801478)
You have to be ####### kidding me.
   29. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:40 PM (#2801480)
Need a double play here
   30. Dan Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:40 PM (#2801479)
What the #### kind of way to give up a run is that
   31. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:41 PM (#2801485)
jesus - this is disgusting.
   32. Dan Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:42 PM (#2801487)
Well, this game is over. Walk infield single, and seeing eye grounder. Fantastic.
   33. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:42 PM (#2801488)
A stupid walk - passed ball - hard hit grounder - weak as piss broken bat grounder that scores a run - this is awesome
   34. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:43 PM (#2801490)
Game over - no way this weak as piss offence scores two runs tonight
   35. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:43 PM (#2801491)
You knew trouble was headed our way after he walked the amazing Kevin Millar - #### this ####
   36. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:44 PM (#2801492)
If this useless #### Cintron gets a hit - I'm outta here
   37. Dan Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:44 PM (#2801494)
I think you owe me a Coke for that one Phil.
   38. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:46 PM (#2801495)
I think you owe me a Coke for that one Phil.

You owe me - you missed the excelllent Varitek passed ball.

:)
   39. Chip Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:46 PM (#2801496)
New and inventive ways to automatically score the leadoff walk.
   40. Dan Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:47 PM (#2801498)
I meant for the "game over" remark!
   41. Dan Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:48 PM (#2801499)
Honest to god, I think I might boycott watching the Red Sox until Lugo is either benched or cut.
   42. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:49 PM (#2801500)
Damn - I do too

I am drinking diet coke as we speak - cheers!!

Speaking of game over - lets keep trotting Lugo out there...
   43. Chip Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:49 PM (#2801501)
What the #### are you swinging at Ellsbury?
   44. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:50 PM (#2801502)
I deserve more cokes because of the delay

####### home plate ump calls it again
   45. Chip Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:50 PM (#2801504)
Perfect first pitch to a hacktastic bum, and he can't even get an out from it.
   46. Dan Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:51 PM (#2801506)
According to Amica pitch zone that ball was a foot off the ####### plate. This ump can suck my dick.
   47. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:51 PM (#2801508)
Cleary of the plate - loving this ump - we have no chance
   48. Chip Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:52 PM (#2801510)
And Pedroia, once again, swings at ball four.
   49. Chip Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:53 PM (#2801511)
Twice. But it worked the second time!
   50. Dan Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:54 PM (#2801513)
Holy ####.
   51. Chip Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:54 PM (#2801514)
Despite the result, the urge to go out of the strike zone so frequently is catching up to him.
   52. Dan Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:54 PM (#2801516)
This would be a nice time to go back-to-back-to-back for #500 Manny...
   53. Chip Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:54 PM (#2801517)
Papi!
   54. Chip Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:55 PM (#2801518)
No wild swings Manny. Go to right.
   55. Dan Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:55 PM (#2801519)
Remy owes me a coke.
   56. Dan Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:56 PM (#2801520)
Another limp-wristed throw from Mora.
   57. Chip Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:57 PM (#2801521)
They were playing a pretty radical shift against Manny there. Mora was right on the line, and Cintron was way in the hole.
   58. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:57 PM (#2801523)
I ####### missed it casue of my piece of #### modem
   59. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:59 PM (#2801524)
Missed both home runs because the modem these criminals sent me is about as usefull as tits on a bull
   60. Dan Posted: May 31, 2008 at 07:59 PM (#2801525)
Where the #### did that miss?

This ump's zone is ####### garbage.
   61. Chris Dial Posted: May 31, 2008 at 08:00 PM (#2801526)
Really? None of the douches in the BTF contingent has a device that can post a roll call?
   62. Dan Posted: May 31, 2008 at 08:02 PM (#2801527)
Now Lester gets ball 2 on the same pitch Ellsbury was rung up on.
   63. Dan Posted: May 31, 2008 at 08:03 PM (#2801529)
Are we TRYING to give this game away?
   64. Chip Posted: May 31, 2008 at 08:03 PM (#2801530)
Manny has to catch that.
   65. JB H Posted: May 31, 2008 at 08:03 PM (#2801531)
I really don't have any idea where the idea that Manny isn't that bad in the field comes from
   66. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: May 31, 2008 at 08:05 PM (#2801532)
This is ######## - someone should have caught that
   67. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: May 31, 2008 at 08:06 PM (#2801534)
This is ######## - someone should have caught that
   68. Marcel Posted: May 31, 2008 at 08:07 PM (#2801536)
This might be easier going if Lester and Olson weren't working with totally different strike zones.
   69. Dan Posted: May 31, 2008 at 08:08 PM (#2801537)
What'd Millar end up doing? I was getting a drink.
   70. Chip Posted: May 31, 2008 at 08:08 PM (#2801538)
Way to use the yard.

Although as his attitude coming of the mound acknowledges, that wasn't his intent. It was a horrible pitch, and he got really, really lucky.
   71. Chip Posted: May 31, 2008 at 08:09 PM (#2801540)
What'd Millar end up doing? I was getting a drink.

Drive to the edge of the track in the deepest part of the park, out near the bullpens.
   72. Dan Posted: May 31, 2008 at 08:11 PM (#2801543)
Nice swing up 3-1 Youk.
   73. Chip Posted: May 31, 2008 at 08:11 PM (#2801544)
Sub-optimal use of a 3-1 count, but Cintron bails him out.

Their defense his just ridiculously bad.
   74. Chip Posted: May 31, 2008 at 08:13 PM (#2801546)
Another good use of the yard.
   75. Chip Posted: May 31, 2008 at 08:15 PM (#2801550)
And Coco chases out of the zone ahead in the count.

More awful offense. No ability to develop or sustain a rally, absent multiple Oriole errors.
   76. Chip Posted: May 31, 2008 at 08:18 PM (#2801554)
Ahead in the count, Lester again throws a simply horrible pitch.

Another horrible play by Manny. Not running hard for anything.
   77. Dan Posted: May 31, 2008 at 08:18 PM (#2801555)
2nd "double" 100% on Manny.
   78. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: May 31, 2008 at 08:19 PM (#2801557)
Jesus christ - this game is ####### killing me - how is that a double? its an error
   79. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: May 31, 2008 at 08:20 PM (#2801558)
Manny looks like #### in the outfield - i bet you his hamstrings are tight
   80. Chip Posted: May 31, 2008 at 08:20 PM (#2801560)
Ahead in the count 1-2, and again Lester throws a dreadfully bad pitch.
   81. Chip Posted: May 31, 2008 at 08:24 PM (#2801567)
Why does Jay Payton think he has enough strike zone judgment to disagree with that call?

Amica Zone had it well within the box.
   82. Chip Posted: May 31, 2008 at 08:26 PM (#2801568)
Nice curve for strike two to Jones.
   83. Chip Posted: May 31, 2008 at 08:26 PM (#2801569)
Nice decision to leave it to Pedroia, Youks.
   84. Chip Posted: May 31, 2008 at 08:27 PM (#2801570)
And Manny's "error" is stranded.
   85. Chip Posted: May 31, 2008 at 08:29 PM (#2801571)
Leadoff HACK!
   86. Dan Posted: May 31, 2008 at 08:30 PM (#2801574)
How did Lugo already make an out?
   87. Chip Posted: May 31, 2008 at 08:30 PM (#2801576)
First pitch HACK!
   88. Chip Posted: May 31, 2008 at 08:32 PM (#2801577)
BTW, aren't a bunch of Primates at this game? Including Kevin? I can only imagine what it was like when Pedroia hit that HR. Was Chris Dial's post above from that group?
   89. Dan Posted: May 31, 2008 at 08:32 PM (#2801578)
ALso:

How the hell did Ellsbury ever get caught stealing in the minors?
   90. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: May 31, 2008 at 08:33 PM (#2801581)
I think so - this is the day he meets DN, right?
   91. Chip Posted: May 31, 2008 at 08:33 PM (#2801582)
I'm shocked, and mildly encouraged, that Pedroia did not swing at the breaking ball on 3-1.
   92. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: May 31, 2008 at 08:35 PM (#2801583)
At least he is taking a few more pitches and we know that is a double off the wall at Fenway!
   93. Dan Posted: May 31, 2008 at 08:35 PM (#2801584)
Ellsbury was lucky on that one.
   94. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: May 31, 2008 at 08:36 PM (#2801587)
Why is he stealing third with 2 outs??
   95. Chip Posted: May 31, 2008 at 08:36 PM (#2801589)
Ellsbury was lucky on that one.

I think Remy's right, though - with Mora so far off the bag, he was forced to make that play on the run, which is incredibly hard.

Ortiz should just give up on expecting a fastball in 2-0 counts.

And he's reaching badly out of the zone on 2-1, too. Awful.
   96. Dan Posted: May 31, 2008 at 08:37 PM (#2801590)
Because there's no reason not to when Mora is that far off the bag?
   97. Dan Posted: May 31, 2008 at 08:41 PM (#2801596)
Ugh.
   98. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: May 31, 2008 at 08:42 PM (#2801599)
This is going to be an awesome loss
   99. Chip Posted: May 31, 2008 at 08:43 PM (#2801600)
A HR to righthanded Roberts? That's worse than giving up a HR to Lugo.
   100. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: May 31, 2008 at 08:43 PM (#2801601)
This game is giving me the shits sideways something chronic. Thank god for the day game tomorrow as I'll be tucked in bed as they #### and fumble their way to another loss
