The Yankees are sure doing a lot of first pitch swinging.

Funny, I could've sworn someone told me that this is not a blowout.

hehe

Well we did give up 6 runs in an inning yesterday!!!

And the Yankees scored 9 in an inning yesterday.

Nice work, Lester. Papelbon could use the work, right? Or is now the time to give Timlin an inning?

My god - the Sox needed this from Lester

Is Tito going to let Lester get a complete game shutout?
That out to do wonders for his confidence

Is it the kind that will permanently affect his throwing?

Until he gets offseason surgery, it looks like.

Hope so - he should be allowed to start the ininng you'd assume
   208. NJ in DC Posted: July 03, 2008 at 09:46 PM (#2842859)
Wow...Robertson is hitting some 94s and a 95.
   209. Chip Posted: July 03, 2008 at 09:47 PM (#2842864)
Not sure he's topped 92 on the NESN gun.
   210. ekogan Posted: July 03, 2008 at 09:47 PM (#2842866)
The Red Sox hitters just want this game to be over
   211. Chip Posted: July 03, 2008 at 09:48 PM (#2842870)
And Drew swings at ball four.
   212. NJ in DC Posted: July 03, 2008 at 09:48 PM (#2842871)
Ok, the YES gun had Robertson regularly 92-95 that inning, impressive.
   213. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: July 03, 2008 at 09:49 PM (#2842873)
As Chip said, he didn't go over 92 on the NESN gun.
   214. Chip Posted: July 03, 2008 at 09:49 PM (#2842874)
Consistently between 90 and 92 on the NESN gun.
   215. NJ in DC Posted: July 03, 2008 at 09:51 PM (#2842880)
Ok, he was 90-93 according to Gameday, that seems in line with NESN and jives more with his scouting reports. It also explains why YES, which usually never has Pettitte higher than 90 had him hitting 93 today.

Jeter shows his clutchness in the 9th inning
   217. ekogan Posted: July 03, 2008 at 09:54 PM (#2842886)
And Abreu shows why he was run out of Philly
   218. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: July 03, 2008 at 09:54 PM (#2842888)
Lester!
   219. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: July 03, 2008 at 09:55 PM (#2842889)
Well done Jon - I like baseball again!
   220. NJ in DC Posted: July 03, 2008 at 09:55 PM (#2842890)
Well...that sucked.
   221. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: July 03, 2008 at 09:55 PM (#2842892)
...and a game under 3 hours!!!
   222. ekogan Posted: July 03, 2008 at 09:55 PM (#2842893)
Lester > Beckett
but Beckett is pretty good for a #2 pitcher
   223. Chip Posted: July 03, 2008 at 09:55 PM (#2842894)
Flipped over to hear Kay dis Lester's performance. Prick. "Hard to tell how much of it was the Yankee offense, and how much of it was Jon Lester."

He's just pointing out that the Yankees' offense, other than yesterday, has been kinda quiet. They were shut out by the Reds recently.

Yankee clubhouse door closed for 32 minutes after tonight's game ended. This should get interesting.

Girardi reamed the team out for lack of effort.
