Wakefield has 0% of getting the win in this game. Zero. The Yankees kill Wakefield.
Watch a movie instead.

How should I be feeling about this series? I know that after winning the 1st two, I felt like I'd be happy regardless, as they had already met my hopes. But yesterday was such a tough loss.
   3. karlmagnus Posted: July 06, 2008 at 08:09 PM (#2846255)
Wakefield often decimates the Yanks since he is a HOF quality pitcher. However Tito has obviously agreed with Girardi that the Yanks are to win this one, since he's rested Manny.

Vertigo or Godfather?
   5. karlmagnus Posted: July 06, 2008 at 08:10 PM (#2846261)
We should be furious that they play losers like Crisp, Varitek and Lugo, none of whom can manage a sac fly. Varitek has to be up there among "Worst seasons ever nominated for the ASG."

   11. Darren Posted: July 06, 2008 at 08:18 PM (#2846288)
Sorry, resting Manny here is weak. They were a bit lax about that in the Tampa series too. You don't rest guys during those 2 series.
   12. Benji Gil Gamesh Posted: July 06, 2008 at 08:29 PM (#2846310)
I don't like the weak-ass lineup either, but you rest guys when the manager thinks it's prudent to.

And you don't send Youkilis with a strikeout pitcher on the mound.

I love when Wake is having a "good Wake" year because it's fun to think about him pitching until he's like 50.
   19. The Ghost of Sox Fans Past Posted: July 06, 2008 at 08:38 PM (#2846341)
I went to the Mariners-Tigers game last night, and RA Dickey started. He couldn't get the knuckler to work, so he threw mostly sinkers and changeups in the 80's. Dickey throws more non-knuckleballs than Wake does anyway, but this was extreme. I was amazed that he only gave up 2 runs to Detroit.

First and third with none out and Crisp up. The only hope we have is that the thrd player in the Terrible Trio is Cash not Varitek.
