What happened with Lowell? Gameday's "Injury Delay" leaves a lot to be desired as a descriptive tool. Bud, get to work on this!

Hit the ball onto his ankle

Ah, thanks, Phil!

Darryl Boston played for the Yankees in his last season. Didn't do much.
I wonder if they signed him just for name value

OK, gotta go back and liten to more incredibly boring 120 minute talks about crap I don't care about.

Bye.
   106. kevin Posted: July 22, 2008 at 12:23 AM (#2867567)
oops. Have to stay until the end of this "rally".

The Slumpbuster gets hit by a pitch.
He's not a very stoic individual, he's expressive with his frustrations

Did Riggleman really just turn Varitek around to face him right-handed? After he hit a HR today RH?
   109. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: July 22, 2008 at 12:27 AM (#2867572)
take the 3-0
   110. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: July 22, 2008 at 12:28 AM (#2867574)
take again
   111. Dan Posted: July 22, 2008 at 12:28 AM (#2867575)
The Yankees and Rays hve won already today, but at least the Angels are losing 5-1 to Cleveland in the 8th.

I LOVE LOWRIE!

Jed > the other mutts at short we have
   115. ekogan Posted: July 22, 2008 at 12:31 AM (#2867580)
Lowrie didn't get the memo about not hitting with RISP
   116. Dan Posted: July 22, 2008 at 12:32 AM (#2867581)
Lowrie has hit more line drives since being called up than Lugo hit in the month prior to his injury.

But Lugo's a great bunter!
   118. Dan Posted: July 22, 2008 at 12:35 AM (#2867585)
A quick scoreless inning would be fantastic.
   119. ekogan Posted: July 22, 2008 at 12:37 AM (#2867587)
Lester's only at 88 pitches. Seattle doesn't believe in working the count
   120. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: July 22, 2008 at 12:38 AM (#2867588)
Anyone think the Mariners would be dumb enough to trade us Clement?
   121. Dan Posted: July 22, 2008 at 12:39 AM (#2867590)
I think Towles would be more attainable if you're looking at good catching prospects who have struggled as rookies.
   122. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: July 22, 2008 at 12:39 AM (#2867591)
Where did slumpbuster originate guys??

Depends on what goes back in return. Considering that the new regime is beginning the rebuilding process, they are not going to trade any prospects.
They'd like to trade Johjima if they could, not that anybody would want him.
   124. Dan Posted: July 22, 2008 at 12:41 AM (#2867594)
No way in hell ownership would let them trade Johjima, unless they were getting Daisuke or Fukudome or something back.

Kevin Youkilis promotes an energy drink called Slumpbuster.
Plus if you shave his beard and put him in a dress, he'd look like a slumpbuster
   127. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: July 22, 2008 at 12:43 AM (#2867597)
Lugo stuffs that up
   128. Dan Posted: July 22, 2008 at 12:44 AM (#2867598)
Great, another ball right off of Lester's leg.
   129. Dan Posted: July 22, 2008 at 12:45 AM (#2867599)
It's kind of funny that Youkilis promotes that energy drink since he's frequently shown drinking Red Bull in the dugout.

Something has got to give in this Clement-Johjima logjam. I feel like the GM and manager are butting heads with the ownership. But it is far down the list of worries on this sucktastic Seattle squad right now.
   131. Dan Posted: July 22, 2008 at 12:47 AM (#2867602)
Glad that Papelbon got the call, although it probably makes him unavailable tomorrow.

FOX saying that Lester didn't give up a run

Not yet...
   133. Dan Posted: July 22, 2008 at 12:48 AM (#2867606)
Not at all, Phil ;)
   134. Dan Posted: July 22, 2008 at 12:49 AM (#2867608)
Well, 2 pitches for Papelbon, so hopefully they aren't silly about not letting him pitch tomorrow (assuming he doesn't need 20+ pitches in the 9th.

Last weekend, the police in a rural region of Yunnan Province killed two people after a violent clash with 500 rubber farmers. The farmers, armed with knives, injured 41 police officers and damaged several police cars in a confrontation rooted in a long-running dispute between farmers and a local rubber company, state media reported.

Is it just me or is the phrase "rubber farmer" completely hilarious?
I get an image of a bunch of condom pickers moving down the rows of Trojan trees

The shutout is intact again. WFB tried his best to keep the inning going but Raul f'd it up.
   137. Dan Posted: July 22, 2008 at 12:50 AM (#2867611)
Lester's ERA is down to 3.20.

Drew tried to kill Lopez with a line drive, but Lopez successfully defended himself
   139. ekogan Posted: July 22, 2008 at 12:59 AM (#2867622)
Coco Crisp has 3 walks. That's pretty unprecedented
   140. Dan Posted: July 22, 2008 at 01:01 AM (#2867625)
A 4-0 lead is nice and all, but lost in this is the fact that the Red Sox left 13 men on base, and hit into 2 double plays.
   141. ekogan Posted: July 22, 2008 at 01:03 AM (#2867627)
the Red Sox left 13 men on base

That's what you get with a high OBP offense.

Has he ever had a walk in a game??
   143. Dan Posted: July 22, 2008 at 01:06 AM (#2867630)
Was the 1-1 to Lopez a slider or a splitter?
   144. IronChef Chris Wok Posted: July 22, 2008 at 01:10 AM (#2867633)
Jon Lester, the stopper
