At least Hernandez is at 108 pitches, that should be the last we see of him.
   102. Dan Posted: July 23, 2008 at 06:31 PM (#2869945)
Masterson warming.
   103. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: July 23, 2008 at 06:31 PM (#2869946)
I'm still livid about the Varitek at bat - but why be surprised?? What afucking idiot
   104. Dan Posted: July 23, 2008 at 06:32 PM (#2869948)
Nice curve to get IbaƱez.
   105. Dan Posted: July 23, 2008 at 06:33 PM (#2869950)
STRIKES CLAY STRIKES.

You've got to be ####### kidding me.
   107. Chip Posted: July 23, 2008 at 06:34 PM (#2869954)
Pathetic.

Are you kidding???
   109. Chip Posted: July 23, 2008 at 06:36 PM (#2869957)
Red Sox leave men on base all over the place, and they get a HR from Jose ####### Vidro?
   110. Dan Posted: July 23, 2008 at 06:36 PM (#2869958)
When I played this matchup last night on my PS3 I actually lost 2-1 on a 2 run Vidro home run. I laughed at the ridiculousness of it.
   111. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: July 23, 2008 at 06:36 PM (#2869959)
Good to see the squander will haunt us - I blame that excuse for a catcher we have
   112. Dan Posted: July 23, 2008 at 06:36 PM (#2869960)
Pull him please.
   113. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: July 23, 2008 at 06:37 PM (#2869961)
This is a joke - now he wont throw strikes
   114. Chip Posted: July 23, 2008 at 06:37 PM (#2869963)
How the #### is that not a swing when Lowrie's was?
   115. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: July 23, 2008 at 06:38 PM (#2869964)
He ####### went there you #### ump
   116. Dan Posted: July 23, 2008 at 06:39 PM (#2869965)
Glad you left him in after the walk to allow another baserunner. ####### brilliant.

Bases loaded - one run - one ####### run - #### this ####
   118. Dan Posted: July 23, 2008 at 06:41 PM (#2869969)
Glad you left him in after the walk to allow another baserunner. ####### brilliant.
   119. Dan Posted: July 23, 2008 at 06:43 PM (#2869972)
Nice start for Masterson.
   120. Dan Posted: July 23, 2008 at 06:43 PM (#2869973)
Great changeup on the 0-1.
   121. Chip Posted: July 23, 2008 at 06:44 PM (#2869974)
Why is Orsillo saying that Masterson has never had to work in relief before? Didn't the Red Sox convert him from a reliever into a starter just last year?
   122. Dan Posted: July 23, 2008 at 06:45 PM (#2869975)
Presumably he meant in the majors.
   123. Dan Posted: July 23, 2008 at 06:45 PM (#2869977)
Or he didn't know that.
   124. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: July 23, 2008 at 06:47 PM (#2869979)
So Clay has given up homers to Vidro and Anderson this week - awesome
   125. Chip Posted: July 23, 2008 at 06:47 PM (#2869981)
My money's on the latter, because Orsillo's whole shtick was about the unfamiliarity with the process of coming into a game out of the pen.
   126. Chip Posted: July 23, 2008 at 06:52 PM (#2869986)
Ugh.
   127. Dan Posted: July 23, 2008 at 06:54 PM (#2869988)
One more inning for Masterson or what?
   128. Dan Posted: July 23, 2008 at 06:55 PM (#2869991)
94 MPH from Masterson on ball 1
   129. Chip Posted: July 23, 2008 at 06:55 PM (#2869992)
We'll see if his home run vulnerability follows him, now that he's rolled over to the top of the order after Bloomquist's quick out.
   130. Chip Posted: July 23, 2008 at 06:58 PM (#2869995)
Ellsbury's still fast, at least.
   131. Dan Posted: July 23, 2008 at 06:58 PM (#2869997)
I think I would throw Masterson for another inning if the game stays tied.
   132. Dan Posted: July 23, 2008 at 07:00 PM (#2870000)
(He's only thrown 17 pitches)
   133. Chip Posted: July 23, 2008 at 07:04 PM (#2870003)
Blech.
   134. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: July 23, 2008 at 07:04 PM (#2870004)
If Jed could get in them I dont have to look at numb nuts next inning
   135. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: July 23, 2008 at 07:05 PM (#2870005)
#### head to lead off the 9th - great
   136. Chip Posted: July 23, 2008 at 07:07 PM (#2870008)
Another one-pitch out. Mariners helping out Tito's decision-making big time.
   137. Dan Posted: July 23, 2008 at 07:08 PM (#2870009)
I'm enjoying reliever Masterson.
   138. Dan Posted: July 23, 2008 at 07:08 PM (#2870010)
He's throwing a lot harder too.
   139. Chip Posted: July 23, 2008 at 07:09 PM (#2870011)
So ####### annoying that Vidro not only homered, but reached base all three times he faced Buchholz.
   140. Chip Posted: July 23, 2008 at 07:10 PM (#2870012)
He's passed the audition.
   141. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: July 23, 2008 at 07:13 PM (#2870018)

   145. mopar Posted: July 23, 2008 at 07:18 PM (#2870028)
No reason not to leave Masterson in

Okajima in.
   148. Dan Posted: July 23, 2008 at 07:22 PM (#2870035)
Where the hell did that miss?
   149. Dan Posted: July 23, 2008 at 07:25 PM (#2870041)
Crisp sucks. Ellsbury is a much better outfielder this year.

Must get this joker out with Ichiro up - so he falls behind
   156. Dan Posted: July 23, 2008 at 07:34 PM (#2870073)
Are they going to use Morrow for a 2nd inning?
   157. Dan Posted: July 23, 2008 at 07:37 PM (#2870086)
HOpefully Drew can do something with Morrow. He's the only one who did anything with him last time we faced Seattle.

Damn. Looking at this Chatter, it's a good thing that Goodwill Hunting was set in Boston. Can you imagine Coorey as a Pirates fan or a Royals fan? He probably wouldn't be alive today.
   159. Dan Posted: July 23, 2008 at 07:41 PM (#2870096)
That was not good, JD.

Standup fastball ...

FAILS!
   163. Dan Posted: July 23, 2008 at 07:45 PM (#2870113)
Yeah Remy when you play your best outfielder in right he will catch a lot of balls. That doesn't make it a good idea.
   164. The Politics of Torre: How the HOF Really Works Posted: July 23, 2008 at 07:46 PM (#2870115)
Then again that double play raised my blood pressure.
   165. Dan Posted: July 23, 2008 at 07:48 PM (#2870121)
Really? The double play didn't really piss me off at all.

I'm the anti-Dan.

Another good AB from Lowrie.

   171. mopar Posted: July 23, 2008 at 08:03 PM (#2870155)
I like the move to Papelbon here. I'd like it more if either Okajima or Delcarmen was still available
   172. Chip Posted: July 23, 2008 at 08:03 PM (#2870156)
I think Remy's right, if Papelbon doesn't butcher that it rolls foul.
   173. Chip Posted: July 23, 2008 at 08:04 PM (#2870158)
Thanks for the bad AB, Adrian.

Awesome. I left to get a haircut when the Sox had a 2-1 lead, but when I came back it was 3-3. I should've blown off the haircut.
   175. Chip Posted: July 23, 2008 at 08:06 PM (#2870161)
Got lucky with a hanging slider on the 1-0 to Betancourt.

Here comes the walk off sac fly.

   178. Dan Posted: July 23, 2008 at 08:08 PM (#2870176)
Remy is right, Crisp and Ellsbury are playing too deep.

cmon drew
   190. Chip Posted: July 23, 2008 at 08:14 PM (#2870211)
Well that will work, I guess. Would have been nicer if he had stolen before Pedroia put the bat on the ball. But Ellsbury has been on first so infrequently I think he's forgotten how to steal.
   191. mopar Posted: July 23, 2008 at 08:15 PM (#2870216)
He forgot how to hit at some point too
