See ya's around gametime...
   4. Dan Posted: August 19, 2008 at 05:48 PM (#2908813)
Ugh, no Lowrie tonight either. Terrible:

RF Ellsbury
2B Pedroia
DH Ortiz
3B Youkilis
LF Bay
1B Casey
C Varitek
SS Cora
CF Crisp

Complete zeroes in the bottom third.
   5. Dan Posted: August 19, 2008 at 05:48 PM (#2908814)
Damnit, beaten to the punch.
   6. DKDC Posted: August 19, 2008 at 05:55 PM (#2908822)
I really hope Dave Roberts isn't leading off and playing 2B.
   7. Dan Posted: August 19, 2008 at 06:23 PM (#2908861)
Actually I think it's Julia Roberts.
   8. mopar Posted: August 19, 2008 at 06:31 PM (#2908866)
JACOBY'S GOIN' DEEP!
   9. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: August 19, 2008 at 06:55 PM (#2908889)
What a shockingly bad line up down the bottom - I think I'll skip this one.
   10. Chip Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:02 PM (#2908899)
Guess Remy and Orsillo's rampant speculation on Sunday that Beckett was hurt was more than appropriate. (I won't include Steve Phillips' speculation since he couldn't tell the difference between a fastball and a changeup).
   11. Dan Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:08 PM (#2908911)
Good to see Ellsbury stealing.
   12. tfbg9 Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:09 PM (#2908914)
Hey-hey-hey!
   13. Chip Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:09 PM (#2908915)
Wow, it's like a May flashback: Ellsbury gets a hit AND steals, all in the same inning!
   14. Chip Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:11 PM (#2908918)
Major squander opportunity looms.
   15. Chip Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:12 PM (#2908919)
Papi missed a major cookie on 1-0.
   16. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:14 PM (#2908925)
The only alternative to skipping this is working - think I'll watch.

We need more runs here with the ####### useless triangle down the bottom
   17. Chip Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:14 PM (#2908926)
Nice hitting. Stayed back enough on the 3-2 breaking ball to get decent wood on it.
   18. tfbg9 Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:16 PM (#2908934)
I think the ball's gonna carry tonight.
   19. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:17 PM (#2908936)
How was the 2-1 a strike?
   20. Chip Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:18 PM (#2908937)
Gift call on 2-1 to Bay, it appeared, but no Amica confirmation.
   21. tfbg9 Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:18 PM (#2908938)
As long as Dice gets that same big zone too...
   22. Chip Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:18 PM (#2908940)
Good job. Squander denied!
   23. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:18 PM (#2908941)
I'll take the sac
   24. Tike Redman's Shattered Dreams (shayborg) Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:19 PM (#2908942)
Ooh, Bay just missed that.
   25. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:20 PM (#2908944)
Orioles guys are massive Bay fans.

After the first home run he hit last night, one of them screams out "..and he can play defense!"

Time for a shower - Go Dice

After the first home run he hit last night, one of them screams out "..and he can play defense!"

I thought that was just a dig at Manny.
   27. Chip Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:22 PM (#2908948)
Headcast vs. Houdini!
   28. tfbg9 Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:22 PM (#2908949)
OK, nibble away, I guess.
   29. Chip Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:22 PM (#2908950)
HeadcasE vs. Houdini!
   30. tfbg9 Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:24 PM (#2908952)
Awesome! the 1-2 leadoff hit!
   31. Chip Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:24 PM (#2908954)
Count leverage wasted. Not an encouraging start for the escape artist.
   32. Chip Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:25 PM (#2908959)
Terrible job holding him by Dice.
   33. tfbg9 Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:26 PM (#2908964)
Fun stuff.
   34. Dan Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:26 PM (#2908965)
The Johnny Damon in CF experience is off to a great start for the Yankees. He just let a pretty routine deep flyball to center clank off of his glove.
   35. Chip Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:27 PM (#2908967)
And here we go ...
   36. Chip Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:30 PM (#2908983)
Thanks for the help, Melvin.
   37. tfbg9 Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:32 PM (#2908988)
OK--big tease time.
   38. Chip Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:32 PM (#2908990)
B.J. Upton just threw out Torii Hunter trying to score from second on a single to center? Like to see that highlight.

Hunter was just showing off his loafing skills to BJ...
   40. Chip Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:35 PM (#2908997)
Houdini ESCAPES AGAIN!
   41. tfbg9 Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:35 PM (#2908998)
Lucky--that last pitch looked awful fat.
   42. mopar Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:36 PM (#2909001)
No saki for you
   43. tfbg9 Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:37 PM (#2909004)
Take 3 Tek.
   44. Marcel Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:38 PM (#2909006)
Holy ####!
   45. Chip Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:38 PM (#2909008)
Wonder if the "he'll throw anything in any count, and never give in" scouting report on him allows him to get away with more than his normal share of fat ones. Batters trying to guess with him inevitably fail.
   46. tfbg9 Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:38 PM (#2909010)
***slaps face***
   47. Chip Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:39 PM (#2909012)
Maybe the formal filing of divorce papers has cleared his head.
   48. tfbg9 Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:42 PM (#2909016)
I think it was more due to the total bunny 3-1 pitch he got, sadly.
   49. Chip Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:43 PM (#2909019)
Yeah, but it's not like he's made a habit of exploiting ABs where he's had that advantage this year.

Pretty much close to perfect throw - wish he was benched
   51. Chip Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:46 PM (#2909028)
1-2 to the leadoff walk. Wheeeee!
   52. tfbg9 Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:46 PM (#2909029)
Quite aggravating, actually.
   53. Dan Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:48 PM (#2909032)
I have decided to sit back and go with the flow during Daisuke's starts. "Trying to enjoy it" if you will.
   54. Chip Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:48 PM (#2909033)
Another 1-2 count to exploit ...
   55. Dan Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:49 PM (#2909034)
What the heck just happened to Tek?
   56. tfbg9 Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:49 PM (#2909035)
Watch him walk Payton.
   57. Dan Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:50 PM (#2909038)
Nice ####### job, Cora.
   58. Marcel Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:50 PM (#2909039)
Why exactly is Cora in this game again?
   59. tfbg9 Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:51 PM (#2909042)
Nice play Cora. Very nice.
   60. Chip Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:51 PM (#2909043)
Even Lugo doesn't #### that one up.
   61. Dan Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:51 PM (#2909045)
Even I wouldn't #### that one up.
   62. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:52 PM (#2909047)
Cora is such a crumb of a player - #### - why is he even in the team?
   63. Chip Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:53 PM (#2909048)
For all his uselessness, I'm all in favor of turning Lugo into the utility guy when he's ready to come off the DL and giving Cora a head start on his future coaching/managing career.
   64. tfbg9 Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:53 PM (#2909049)
Ok then. GLB again...
   65. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:53 PM (#2909050)
redemption - how did Cora not #### that up?
   66. tfbg9 Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:54 PM (#2909052)
Cora did come into tonight with a .400 OBP...just sayin'!
   67. tfbg9 Posted: August 19, 2008 at 07:55 PM (#2909054)
Dusty better not dig in against this guy--they have a bad history.
   68. tfbg9 Posted: August 19, 2008 at 08:07 PM (#2909076)
freakin' midget
   69. Chip Posted: August 19, 2008 at 08:07 PM (#2909077)
Grow, Bagginses. Dice-K would have a 1-2-3 inning if you weren't so short.
   70. Dan Posted: August 19, 2008 at 08:10 PM (#2909081)
Ervin Santana hasn't allowed a hit through 4 innings in Tampa.
   71. tfbg9 Posted: August 19, 2008 at 08:11 PM (#2909083)
Not good not good not good.
   72. Chip Posted: August 19, 2008 at 08:11 PM (#2909084)
Yeah. Just gave up his first baserunner by walking Pena with two outs, before K'ing Floyd.

Dice hates easy innings.
   73. Chip Posted: August 19, 2008 at 08:13 PM (#2909088)
0-2 - count leverage wasting begins ...
   74. Dan Posted: August 19, 2008 at 08:14 PM (#2909092)
####### Toronto scores double digit runs off of us but can't put up a single run vs. Darrell Rasner?
   75. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: August 19, 2008 at 08:15 PM (#2909094)
Wow, a walk actually bit him in the ass. Shocking.

Not as shocking as Varitek homering in two straight games, but still shocking.
   76. tfbg9 Posted: August 19, 2008 at 08:15 PM (#2909096)
Ah f*ck. 0-2 RBI hit, just wonderful.
   77. Chip Posted: August 19, 2008 at 08:15 PM (#2909097)
What a horrible pitch.

So much for the third best BAA in MLB with men on base.
   78. Chip Posted: August 19, 2008 at 08:16 PM (#2909101)
I blame Tek. It's been downhill ever since his mound visit on the 0-2 count.
   79. tfbg9 Posted: August 19, 2008 at 08:16 PM (#2909103)
Love these 2 out rallies against too. Very fun.
   80. tfbg9 Posted: August 19, 2008 at 08:18 PM (#2909105)
Sheer torture...
   81. tfbg9 Posted: August 19, 2008 at 08:19 PM (#2909111)
Horrible to watch. Rather see bombs.
   82. Chip Posted: August 19, 2008 at 08:20 PM (#2909115)
Can't Theo invest in some lifts for Pedroia? An extra inch on his cleats and he gets a glove on the Mora grounder, ending the inning.
   83. tfbg9 Posted: August 19, 2008 at 08:21 PM (#2909117)
True.
   84. Chip Posted: August 19, 2008 at 08:23 PM (#2909122)
Santana keeps the Rays hitless through 5.
   85. Chip Posted: August 19, 2008 at 08:25 PM (#2909125)
Varitek's head clouded again, as he starts thinking about his attorney's fees for this divorce.
   86. Dan Posted: August 19, 2008 at 08:26 PM (#2909128)
What the #### are you doing Casey?
   87. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: August 19, 2008 at 08:26 PM (#2909129)
Why does Sean Casey continue to fail to realize how slow he is? How many damn times has he been thrown out on the bases this year?
   88. Chip Posted: August 19, 2008 at 08:26 PM (#2909130)
Is Casey unaware of how slow he is? That was the stupidest ####### baserunning in history.
   89. Chip Posted: August 19, 2008 at 08:27 PM (#2909131)
Coke to Biff.
   90. Chip Posted: August 19, 2008 at 08:28 PM (#2909135)
The only possible explanation I can come up with is that Casey KNOWS he's too slow to score from second on a single, and thought he had to get to third with one out to even make scoring possible.
   91. Dan Posted: August 19, 2008 at 08:29 PM (#2909136)
I think he's just totally unaware that he's gotten so slow.
   92. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: August 19, 2008 at 08:32 PM (#2909141)
At least it is greatly amusing to watch him run, in the times that it doesn't hurt the team.
   93. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: August 19, 2008 at 08:32 PM (#2909143)
That was definitely a stroke, Jacoby. The 3-1 was the one that wasn't a strike.
   94. Chip Posted: August 19, 2008 at 08:33 PM (#2909144)
The beer truck.

Ellsbury wonders what Remy was talking about referring to the tighter zone tonight.
   95. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: August 19, 2008 at 08:33 PM (#2909145)
Errr....it was a strike, not a stroke.
   96. Dan Posted: August 19, 2008 at 08:33 PM (#2909147)
Bartlett breaks up the no-no with a double
   97. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: August 19, 2008 at 08:33 PM (#2909148)
This is going to be an annoying loss
   98. Chip Posted: August 19, 2008 at 08:33 PM (#2909149)
And Santana finally gives up a hit in the 6th.
   99. tfbg9 Posted: August 19, 2008 at 08:39 PM (#2909158)
This is brutal.
