We should use this thread to chatter for tonight's game if the Chimp doesn't get off his ass to post new ones. Hey, it's even got one of the starters right!

Tampa has to deal with Halladay tonight - this would be a good night to go caveman on Pettitte
   3. Cowboy Popup Posted: August 26, 2008 at 06:35 PM (#2916874)
I like the odds of the Yanks getting to Wakefield tonight.
   4. Dan Posted: August 26, 2008 at 07:13 PM (#2916918)
Pettitte's getting a little wild here.
   5. Chip Posted: August 26, 2008 at 07:14 PM (#2916922)
He's fallen in love with his curveball in the early going. Worked as a surprise factor against Ellsbury and Pedroia, but now he hasn't been able to throw it for strikes to Papi and Youks.
   6. Chip Posted: August 26, 2008 at 07:16 PM (#2916923)
Laying off the curveball against Bay, ever since the Eiland visit.
   7. Cowboy Popup Posted: August 26, 2008 at 07:16 PM (#2916925)
YES has the propaganda machine going, throwing all sorts of bad #s up for Bay (Career at YS, avg with RISP).
   8. Dan Posted: August 26, 2008 at 07:17 PM (#2916928)
Is Kay talking about how the Red Sox lineup just isn't scary without Manny and with Bay instead like he was the day after the trade all night long?
   9. Chip Posted: August 26, 2008 at 07:18 PM (#2916930)
avg with RISP

So, explaining how he would have fit right into the Yankee lineup this year?

Not really, Leiter was loudly proclaiming how good Bay was, in spite of Kay and the selective stats, which kept Kay from getting going.

So, explaining how he would have fit right into the Yankee lineup this year?

Basically.

DAMON!
   11. Chip Posted: August 26, 2008 at 07:21 PM (#2916938)
Great start, wasting count leverage from the very beginning.
   12. Chip Posted: August 26, 2008 at 07:24 PM (#2916945)
Bailey had no idea where that A-Rod popup into the stands was.
   13. Chip Posted: August 26, 2008 at 07:29 PM (#2916953)
Strike three to Lowrie well off the plate, according to the Amica Zone on NESN.
   14. Cowboy Popup Posted: August 26, 2008 at 07:30 PM (#2916958)
He really knocked the #### out of that one.
   15. Chip Posted: August 26, 2008 at 07:31 PM (#2916960)
Neither of the first two pitches to Bailey were strikes, either.
   16. Chip Posted: August 26, 2008 at 07:32 PM (#2916962)
Ouch.
   17. Cowboy Popup Posted: August 26, 2008 at 07:32 PM (#2916965)
Oh this is ridiculous. Two swinging bunt hits. Lame.
   18. Chip Posted: August 26, 2008 at 07:33 PM (#2916966)
That might be Cash's first infield single in his career.
   19. Dan Posted: August 26, 2008 at 07:33 PM (#2916971)
Ellsbury!
   20. Chip Posted: August 26, 2008 at 07:33 PM (#2916972)

Put together, they don't add up to Damon's lame pop fly HR.
   21. Cowboy Popup Posted: August 26, 2008 at 07:34 PM (#2916975)

Yeah, they do, and that ball is out in Fenway too.
   22. Chip Posted: August 26, 2008 at 07:34 PM (#2916976)
Pedroia hits the ball harder than anybody else in the inning and only gets an out to show for it.
   23. Chip Posted: August 26, 2008 at 07:39 PM (#2916995)
Grow, Pedroia.
   24. Dan Posted: August 26, 2008 at 07:40 PM (#2916999)
Wakefield actually has a puncher's chance with this huge strike zone.
   25. Chip Posted: August 26, 2008 at 07:41 PM (#2917001)
Jeteresque by Lowrie.
   26. Cowboy Popup Posted: August 26, 2008 at 07:42 PM (#2917005)
This how my offense works in MLB the Show, two two out singles followed by an automatic out at the plate.
   27. Cowboy Popup Posted: August 26, 2008 at 07:42 PM (#2917007)
Whoa, did not see that coming. Awesome.
   28. Dan Posted: August 26, 2008 at 07:42 PM (#2917010)
I get that a lot too, CP. I'll have games with like 12 singles where I score 3 runs.
   29. Chip Posted: August 26, 2008 at 07:43 PM (#2917013)
Ball was way off the plate, and he hit it off the end of the bat.
   30. Dan Posted: August 26, 2008 at 07:45 PM (#2917019)
Jose Molina is hitting .286 .394 .393 entering tonight with 6 runs scored and 2 RBI vs the Red Sox this year.
   31. Chip Posted: August 26, 2008 at 07:47 PM (#2917025)
Nice route Caveman.
   32. Chip Posted: August 26, 2008 at 07:49 PM (#2917031)
Youks!
   33. Chip Posted: August 26, 2008 at 07:50 PM (#2917038)
That's for Michael Kay.
   34. Dan Posted: August 26, 2008 at 07:50 PM (#2917039)
Bay!

Shockingly, the Orioles are laying down for the White Sox to run wreck them.
   35. Cowboy Popup Posted: August 26, 2008 at 07:54 PM (#2917049)
I'll have games with like 12 singles where I score 3 runs.

Yeah, it takes like 15-20 hits to put up a bunch of runs.

I look forward to Pettitte retiring soon.
   36. Dan Posted: August 26, 2008 at 07:55 PM (#2917051)
It depends. I have games where I score on a few hits because I get some home runs. I just get a lot of singles because I put just about everything in play.
   37. Dan Posted: August 26, 2008 at 07:56 PM (#2917054)
Unless I play as the Phillies. I'm good for 3 home runs a game with them for some reason, even with guys like Dobbs and Victorino.
   38. Chip Posted: August 26, 2008 at 07:56 PM (#2917056)
With a normal strike zone, these two guys would have given twice as many runs as they have to this point. Neither of them has been very good so far.
   39. Dan Posted: August 26, 2008 at 07:57 PM (#2917058)
I was going to say that Chip. Pettitte has managed to throw a lot of balls considering the massive strike zone.
   40. Chip Posted: August 26, 2008 at 07:58 PM (#2917059)
He's given up the harder contact, too.
   41. Dan Posted: August 26, 2008 at 07:59 PM (#2917062)
Wow, that was a fantastic DP considering who was running.
   42. Cowboy Popup Posted: August 26, 2008 at 08:00 PM (#2917063)
I have games where I score on a few hits because I get some home runs.

I have no power in my lineup so I don't have all that many HRs, I end up hitting a bunch of doubles and singles when I have good games and my middle of the lineup will throw up a bomb every now and then.

Nice DP there.
   43. Chip Posted: August 26, 2008 at 08:00 PM (#2917065)
Impressive DP. Nice turn at second by Pedroia.
   44. Dan Posted: August 26, 2008 at 08:01 PM (#2917070)
Looks like there's a real thread for this game now, I guess we should move on over there.
