Cardinals (34-41) at Mets (43-33) - POSTPONED

Thursday night’s game between the St. Louis Cardinals and New York Mets was postponed by rain. Because the rainout came in the Cardinals’ last scheduled game in New York this season, the teams will have to make up the game on a mutally agreeable open date later in the year.

I have a bad feeling about this game.

Three out of four would be nice.

The Mets actually caught a break with the rainout in more than one way. Not only did they get the W, but got to rest the bullpen. They are going to need it with 4 games in 3 days against the Phillies this weekend.

Yeah, Schoeyourvagina will be well rested for those tough lefty-lefty matchups.

Gotay! And Gomez!

Wow, can you believe the Mets are going to have a new park in two years? It's so weird.

Another rain delay? Splendid.

Did they say when the game might start?

This is why all stadiums should come equipped with a retractable roof.

Just put a large parachute over Shea.

Man, I've been under the impression all week that the doubleheader was on Saturday.

Is Pelfrey starting the first or second game tomorrow?
   14. Hey, it's what Johan uses (Matt) Posted: June 28, 2007 at 07:19 PM (#2421613)
I believe he's starting the first against J.D. Durbin.

I heard Willie say the second.

Damn, I'm going to miss him.
   17. AJM Misses Brodeur Posted: June 28, 2007 at 07:21 PM (#2421617)
Oh, the second game? That's good then.

It's going to be interesting to see how Pelfrey does tomorrow. In his first 4 starts in AAA, he only K'ed 10 in 20 innings. That looks like the guy who spent the first part of this season getting beaten up by big league hitters. In his 3 starts, he has K'ed 19 in 16 innings.

I really hope Pelfrey's slider has developed. Also, did any of you think that his velocity was down earlier in the season from what it was last year? Maybe he was just getting warmed up.

I think that guy packing up equipment said "No game."
   21. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: June 28, 2007 at 07:38 PM (#2421629)
My MLB.TV screen says the games has been postponed. I guess I'll watch some of the Phillies' game.
   22. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: June 28, 2007 at 07:40 PM (#2421631)
Hmm, does that mean Pelfrey doesn't get called up for tomorrow? I amm guessing that they'll just start El Duque and Maine tomorrow.
   23. Lassus Posted: June 28, 2007 at 07:40 PM (#2421632)
Christ. Really? I hasn't rained a damned drop in Manhattan, and we're not THAT far away from Queens. Pffft. Annoying.
   24. Hey, it's what Johan uses (Matt) Posted: June 28, 2007 at 07:40 PM (#2421633)
So, they won't call up Pelfrey now.
   25. Lassus Posted: June 28, 2007 at 07:42 PM (#2421636)
This is very odd. What are they seeing on the radar that I'm not that implies an hour or more of continuing rain? Argh.
