No chatter today? Good to see Pie getting some PT.

WTF? This chatter was not posted at 9am. We were using yesterday's chatter.
   3. Weeks T. Olive Posted: April 24, 2008 at 03:40 PM (#2757627)
I would get a lot of satisfaction from punching Scott Podsednik in the face.
   4. retro-shiite Posted: April 24, 2008 at 03:41 PM (#2757628)
Greetings, fellow Dreckies.
   5. Bunny Vincennes Posted: April 24, 2008 at 03:41 PM (#2757631)
Yeah, he's pretty universally hated by Cubs, White Sox, and Brewer fans.
   6. retro-shiite Posted: April 24, 2008 at 03:41 PM (#2757633)
As I posted in the other chat--Podsednik's really starting to annoy me.
   7. Moses Taylor didn't fall far from the awesome tree Posted: April 24, 2008 at 03:43 PM (#2757634)
As an infielder who occassionally got spotted late in LF, I'd never switch to an outfielder's glove.

Same here. I don't like those big gloves at all.

Pods has always hit well against the Cubs, IIRC. As did the Pods replacement, Brady Clark.
   8. Bunny Vincennes Posted: April 24, 2008 at 03:43 PM (#2757636)
That was shoulder high.
   9. Fred Garvin, Male Prostitute Posted: April 24, 2008 at 03:43 PM (#2757637)
Podsednik's really starting to annoy me.

Starting?

I would get a lot of satisfaction from punching Scott Podsednik in the face.

Why you would want to punch such a cute face? I was out last night, and some chic who's a Sox fan was way too happy to see Pods on TV during the Cubs game.
   11. Fred Garvin, Male Prostitute Posted: April 24, 2008 at 03:46 PM (#2757645)
I was told that Mike Fontenot is the Cubs hottie du jour.
   12. Fred Garvin, Male Prostitute Posted: April 24, 2008 at 03:47 PM (#2757648)
Team Dreck: 2-7, 1 run, 1 RBI
   13. Weeks T. Olive Posted: April 24, 2008 at 03:49 PM (#2757651)
I was told that Mike Fontenot is the Cubs hottie du jour.

Really? Taste being subjective and all, but I find that really hard to believe. Had you said Theriot ... I could buy that, as the sister of a friend is a big fan. Olive Oyl likes Derrek Lee, but I think that's only because she didn't start watching games until 2005. And who among us did not fall in love with Derrek Lee in '05?

Anyway, I'm way handsomer than all of 'em.
   14. Weeks T. Olive Posted: April 24, 2008 at 03:50 PM (#2757652)
Taste being subjective and all, but I find that really hard to believe.

Yuck. What a terribly composed sentence.
   15. retro-shiite Posted: April 24, 2008 at 03:51 PM (#2757654)
Starting?

Well, starting to REALLY annoy me. Or perhaps it's a new chapter in his annoyance of me. The Rocky Mountain Edition, if you will.

I was told that Mike Fontenot is the Cubs hottie du jour.

With that mini-mullet? Have all the fickle female ChiSox fans switched allegiances to the Cubs already?
   16. Bunny Vincennes Posted: April 24, 2008 at 03:53 PM (#2757664)
Jill think DLee is hot.
   17. retro-shiite Posted: April 24, 2008 at 03:54 PM (#2757668)
FWIW, the ladyfriend seems to like Theriot and DeRosa. My supervisor thinks Fukudome's really good-looking, but then, she doesn't dig dudes.
   18. Bunny Vincennes Posted: April 24, 2008 at 03:55 PM (#2757671)
Nice AB there Aramis.
   19. Moses Taylor didn't fall far from the awesome tree Posted: April 24, 2008 at 03:57 PM (#2757679)
Where are all those runs, Jack?
   20. Bunny Vincennes Posted: April 24, 2008 at 03:58 PM (#2757680)
Horrible inning there jackasses. That's a Soriano inning if I've ever seen one.
   21. Fred Garvin, Male Prostitute Posted: April 24, 2008 at 04:03 PM (#2757700)
FWIW, the ladyfriend seems to like Theriot and DeRosa.

I meant DeRosa, not Fontenot.
   22. Moses Taylor didn't fall far from the awesome tree Posted: April 24, 2008 at 04:06 PM (#2757711)
Santo has mentioned a couple of times that he thinks DeRosa is a handsome man. When Mark shaved his head to the buzz cut last year, I remember Ron asking why a guy that good looking would do that.
   23. Weeks T. Olive Posted: April 24, 2008 at 04:07 PM (#2757714)
Maybe DeRosa just wanted an excuse to borrow Santo's Gamer.
   24. retro-shiite Posted: April 24, 2008 at 04:08 PM (#2757717)
I meant DeRosa, not Fontenot.

Ah. That does appear to be the consensus.
   25. retro-shiite Posted: April 24, 2008 at 04:08 PM (#2757720)
Captain Dreck himself leads off the 5th. We're doomed.
   26. Fred Garvin, Male Prostitute Posted: April 24, 2008 at 04:08 PM (#2757721)
I remembered it being one of the MIs and not Theriot or Cedeno.

I thought Reed Johnson was Capt. Dreck. At the very least, he's an officer in the Dreck Army.
   29. Moses Taylor didn't fall far from the awesome tree Posted: April 24, 2008 at 04:11 PM (#2757730)
That was very selfish of Tulo.
   30. Moses Taylor didn't fall far from the awesome tree Posted: April 24, 2008 at 04:12 PM (#2757735)
The offense has been very hackish, or should I say Cubbish, so far today.
   31. retro-shiite Posted: April 24, 2008 at 04:14 PM (#2757736)
I thought Reed Johnson was Capt. Dreck. At the very least, he's an officer in the Dreck Army.

Well, Soto's certainly a promising cadet.

did the WGN announcer say "Peanut Butter Jelly Time!" last inning?

cause. uh. damn.
   33. retro-shiite Posted: April 24, 2008 at 04:16 PM (#2757740)
Uh--what?

#### you, Scotty.

Yes, Len Kasper did, scott. Not sure why. He also sang "Real Men of Genius" earlier during a Bud Light promo onscreen. The thin air must be affecting him.

He's an @sshole too sir. Gunner's mate First Class Philip #######!
How many @sholes do we have on this ship, anyway?

I knew it. I'm surrounded by @ssholes!

One for the commandant! One for the corps!
   39. Moses Taylor didn't fall far from the awesome tree Posted: April 24, 2008 at 04:21 PM (#2757755)
Ok, so I was wrong about Marquis. He hasn't been that bad.
   40. Weeks T. Olive Posted: April 24, 2008 at 04:24 PM (#2757758)
Downright good, in fact.
   41. Weeks T. Olive Posted: April 24, 2008 at 04:25 PM (#2757762)
You don't normally figure Jason Marquis v. Aaron Cook to be a pitcher's duel.
   42. Moses Taylor didn't fall far from the awesome tree Posted: April 24, 2008 at 04:26 PM (#2757764)
I don't recognize this Cubs offense.
   43. Weeks T. Olive Posted: April 24, 2008 at 04:29 PM (#2757768)
Well, it is getaway day.
   44. Sweet Posted: April 24, 2008 at 04:29 PM (#2757770)
Eh. Leadoff walks never end well.
   45. retro-shiite Posted: April 24, 2008 at 04:33 PM (#2757776)
OK, enough of this crap. Time to bust out of it.
   46. Bunny Vincennes Posted: April 24, 2008 at 04:34 PM (#2757779)
Crooked number in the 7th. That's the Cubs plan.
   47. retro-shiite Posted: April 24, 2008 at 04:37 PM (#2757783)
C'mon, Fukudial.
   48. Bunny Vincennes Posted: April 24, 2008 at 04:37 PM (#2757784)
I just hiked down to get Bartender Kurt and I 5 Guys. This is a perfect afternoon thus far.

Fukudome in on the hack fest.
   49. Cabbage Posted: April 24, 2008 at 04:38 PM (#2757785)
Primer is acting screwy today.
   50. Bunny Vincennes Posted: April 24, 2008 at 04:39 PM (#2757787)
Hey does anyone have a link to the unedited Lee Elia rant?

Welcome to Coors Field, pitchers' paradise.
   52. retro-shiite Posted: April 24, 2008 at 04:42 PM (#2757795)
Only 81 pitches for Cook. He could go the distance.
   53. Moses Taylor didn't fall far from the awesome tree Posted: April 24, 2008 at 04:42 PM (#2757796)
It couldn't last the whole game. We knew it. Lou knew it. The American people knew it.
   54. retro-shiite Posted: April 24, 2008 at 04:42 PM (#2757797)
Well, crap.
   55. Weeks T. Olive Posted: April 24, 2008 at 04:42 PM (#2757798)
Jeebus. I went to get a soda from the vending machine between innings and the Rockies are up to bat again?

What is this - 2006?
   56. Moses Taylor didn't fall far from the awesome tree Posted: April 24, 2008 at 04:42 PM (#2757800)
Excuse me swing for that single.
   57. Weeks T. Olive Posted: April 24, 2008 at 04:43 PM (#2757801)
Oh hell.
   58. retro-shiite Posted: April 24, 2008 at 04:44 PM (#2757805)
Chair-throwin' time.
   59. Moses Taylor didn't fall far from the awesome tree Posted: April 24, 2008 at 04:45 PM (#2757811)
If only Pods could have hit that a lot harder...
   60. Bunny Vincennes Posted: April 24, 2008 at 04:48 PM (#2757821)
Alright, lets go back to being the 2008 Cubs.
   61. Bunny Vincennes Posted: April 24, 2008 at 04:50 PM (#2757824)
By the way, it was great to see you guys in Chicago last weekend.
   62. Moses Taylor didn't fall far from the awesome tree Posted: April 24, 2008 at 04:51 PM (#2757826)
That's a start...
   63. Moses Taylor didn't fall far from the awesome tree Posted: April 24, 2008 at 04:52 PM (#2757829)
Pinch running again? Odd.
   64. Bunny Vincennes Posted: April 24, 2008 at 04:52 PM (#2757830)
I disagree with Lou taking Soto out here.
   65. Moses Taylor didn't fall far from the awesome tree Posted: April 24, 2008 at 04:53 PM (#2757832)
And no pinch bunt? I'm fine with that. Marquis bunting here now?
   66. Moses Taylor didn't fall far from the awesome tree Posted: April 24, 2008 at 04:53 PM (#2757833)
Nope, D Ward hitting.
   67. Andere HUSSEIN Richtingen, Socialist Posted: April 24, 2008 at 04:55 PM (#2757838)
Dreck! Dreck! Dreck!
   68. Moses Taylor didn't fall far from the awesome tree Posted: April 24, 2008 at 04:55 PM (#2757839)
That 3-0 pitch was not even close to a strike.
   69. Moses Taylor didn't fall far from the awesome tree Posted: April 24, 2008 at 04:56 PM (#2757842)
Man, Cook has just completely lost it. Herges is up in their pen. But he's not coming in yet.
   70. SouthSideRyan(CASEY'S GONE!!) Posted: April 24, 2008 at 04:58 PM (#2757844)
It's times like these having Mike Fontenot as a leadoff hitter is a bad idea. Actually, it's any time.
   71. Moses Taylor didn't fall far from the awesome tree Posted: April 24, 2008 at 04:58 PM (#2757846)
Surprising he didn't go home. It was hit slowly, but letting them tie the game?
   72. Fred Garvin, Male Prostitute Posted: April 24, 2008 at 04:59 PM (#2757850)
C'mon lil' drecker.
   73. Andere HUSSEIN Richtingen, Socialist Posted: April 24, 2008 at 04:59 PM (#2757852)
No DP. Nice. Of course, if I had Daryle Ward running at me I'd crap my pants.
   74. Weeks T. Olive Posted: April 24, 2008 at 05:00 PM (#2757856)
Of course, if I had Daryle Ward running at me I'd crap my pants.

Wouldn't this be kind of like the steamroller scene in Austin Powers?
   75. Bunny Vincennes Posted: April 24, 2008 at 05:00 PM (#2757857)
That high strike is ridiculous.
   76. Fred Garvin, Male Prostitute Posted: April 24, 2008 at 05:00 PM (#2757858)
Surprising he didn't go home. It was hit slowly, but letting them tie the game?

With Cedeno running and the IF at DP depth, that would be hopeless, or what I would do in DMB.
   77. Moses Taylor didn't fall far from the awesome tree Posted: April 24, 2008 at 05:01 PM (#2757860)
Geez. That was eerily familiar.

Hart coming in.
   78. Andere HUSSEIN Richtingen, Socialist Posted: April 24, 2008 at 05:02 PM (#2757861)
Well, what can you do.
   79. Moses Taylor didn't fall far from the awesome tree Posted: April 24, 2008 at 05:02 PM (#2757864)
With Cedeno running and the IF at DP depth, that would be hopeless, or what I would do in DMB.

Right, I'm surprised they were playing to trade the DP for the run.

Crap on a stick.
   83. Bunny Vincennes Posted: April 24, 2008 at 05:06 PM (#2757872)
A half decent throw makes that close.
   84. Fred Garvin, Male Prostitute Posted: April 24, 2008 at 05:06 PM (#2757873)
Team Dreck: 4-18, 2 runs, 2 RBI, 3 BB, 4 K, 2 GIDP
   85. Moses Taylor didn't fall far from the awesome tree Posted: April 24, 2008 at 05:07 PM (#2757875)
From that angle, it looked like Theriot had a play at 3rd.
   86. Fred Garvin, Male Prostitute Posted: April 24, 2008 at 05:07 PM (#2757876)
Theriot could've had Holliday at 3B, perhaps.
   87. Andere HUSSEIN Richtingen, Socialist Posted: April 24, 2008 at 05:08 PM (#2757877)
Well, close maybe.
   88. retro-shiite Posted: April 24, 2008 at 05:08 PM (#2757878)
Hm. Walk Hawpe here?

I'm fine with it.

#### YOU, THERIOT!

Theriot. Crap.
   94. Bunny Vincennes Posted: April 24, 2008 at 05:11 PM (#2757889)
Shitufuck.

####.
   98. retro-shiite Posted: April 24, 2008 at 05:11 PM (#2757894)
Ah, jeez. What happened?
   99. Moses Taylor didn't fall far from the awesome tree Posted: April 24, 2008 at 05:11 PM (#2757895)
Oh, and Marmol's unavailable.
   100. Moses Taylor didn't fall far from the awesome tree Posted: April 24, 2008 at 05:12 PM (#2757896)
Ball hit softly right to Ronny, he flipped it to Theriot who didn't catch it. He was thinking DP, but had to hurry. Not sure if they would have gotten him, although Bob thinks they would have had it.
