Both are 32 years old.
Both were born in California.
Davis' secretary was named Lincoln.
Lilly's secretary was named Kennedy.

Have we seen any other ultra-similar pitcher matchups this year?

I'm thinking Lilly throws a little harder than Davis. And with a much less irritating motion.

It doesn't seem like the Cubs ever hit Davis, so I'm not terribly optimistic. I have no idea what the hell's gotten into (or more accurately, gone out of) this offense.

The Cubs took a lot of pitches and hit into some bad luck last night. They've never been all that good against Davis from what I recall. They desperately need a split in this series, though.

I've got a friend's birthday festivities tonight to at least ensure I won't break my hiatus from watching this team on Day One of said hiatus.

The NL is ####, isn’t it? CC Sabathia can’t just go around and throw three complete games in a row. He can’t. To make matters worse today’s game is a shutout. I like that the Cubs acquired Harden, but right now I’d rather have Texeira. Position be damned.

Now that CoJack is entrenched in left field, the only glaring hole in the lineup is Romero/Burke in right field and Chris Young. Beyond that it's a bunch of guys that are either above average (Jackson, Tracy, Hudson, Reynolds) are near average (Snyder and Drew).

It's not great, but it's pretty damned close to average.

What kind of % do you need to reach break even on stealing 3rd with 2 outs? 95%?

Granted it's Ted Lilly and you could probably steal 3rd base 95% of the time against him, but still.
