Let's go Mets.
   2. Lassus Posted: May 10, 2008 at 01:10 PM (#2775968)
I've got some money burning a hole in my pocket today, so I'm going to see the Pelfrey no-hitter tonight, pick up some good enough seats to get a foul ball.
   3. Lassus Posted: May 10, 2008 at 01:20 PM (#2775975)
Uh-oh. Johann not looking good. I'm sensing future booing.
   4. Lassus Posted: May 10, 2008 at 01:36 PM (#2775986)
That little foul ball show really reminds me why I love Carlos Delgado.
   5. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: May 10, 2008 at 01:48 PM (#2775991)
That little foul ball show really reminds me why I love Carlos Delgado.

What happened? I love Delgado too.
   6. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: May 10, 2008 at 01:49 PM (#2775993)
Belisle has a great arm.
   7. Lassus Posted: May 10, 2008 at 01:50 PM (#2775995)
WHY WOULD YOU MAKE AN AMERICAN LEAGUE PITCHER BUNT?

Boo, Willie. I'm usually on your side, but not here.
   8. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: May 10, 2008 at 01:52 PM (#2775996)
The Reds' defense has been atrocious here. Griffey should have caught Delgado's ball, Votto showed have turned two, and Ross should have blocked that ball.
   9. Lassus Posted: May 10, 2008 at 01:52 PM (#2775997)
Delgado went over to catch a foul ball right near the stands, it bounced off two people's hand, and back onto the field where Delgado caught it, and held it up in his glove to the umpire with a complete "I caught it" straight face.

The Shea gun may be a little faster than usual today because Santana is hitting 95 today on the gun.
   11. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: May 10, 2008 at 02:03 PM (#2776003)
I would love for the Mets to acquire Belisle. He has very good stuff and seems to have good control.
   12. Lassus Posted: May 10, 2008 at 02:06 PM (#2776005)
If we're talking about Reds pitchers to acquire, I'll take Volquez. :-)
   13. Lassus Posted: May 10, 2008 at 02:08 PM (#2776007)
OMG!
   14. Rickroll the Mets (OFF) Posted: May 10, 2008 at 02:10 PM (#2776008)
Has Church swung at everything Belisle has thrown today?
   15. Lassus Posted: May 10, 2008 at 02:14 PM (#2776010)
I'm not sure Belisle deserves that outcome from Baker's idiot strategy there.
   16. Lassus Posted: May 10, 2008 at 02:15 PM (#2776011)
If there's a single MLB player who would care less about being dropped to 7th in the order than Delgado, I can't imagine who it would be.

ARGH....

Oh well.
   17. Lassus Posted: May 10, 2008 at 02:18 PM (#2776012)
Did Baker tell Votto to bunt?

Who the hell is running this team, the Joker?
   18. Bob Koo Posted: May 10, 2008 at 02:31 PM (#2776016)
I take it that Santana's command has been off? I'm just watching on GameDay.
   19. Lassus Posted: May 10, 2008 at 02:33 PM (#2776018)
He's been the way Cohen described his season so far at the start: workmanlike. Above average for the league, but below for himself.

Eeeek. Terrible call by the 1B ump.
   20. Bob Koo Posted: May 10, 2008 at 02:35 PM (#2776020)
Eeeek. Terrible call by the 1B ump.

I didn't see the play, but it really does seem like the umps are getting a lot more calls wrong this year. And some of them aren't even close. But maybe it just seems that way every year.
   21. Bob Koo Posted: May 10, 2008 at 02:36 PM (#2776021)
Btw, batting Patterson leadoff against a lefty is absolute lunacy.
   22. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: May 10, 2008 at 02:38 PM (#2776022)
The Red defense is horriful. Horrible and awful.
   23. Lassus Posted: May 10, 2008 at 02:44 PM (#2776027)
Boy, that really WAS a terrible tag on what looked like a pretty decent throw.
   24. Bob Koo Posted: May 10, 2008 at 03:06 PM (#2776035)
Santana's been disappointing today.
   25. AJM Posted: May 10, 2008 at 03:28 PM (#2776042)
Beltran!

Good to see him and Wright back to normal today.
   26. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: May 10, 2008 at 03:30 PM (#2776044)
Beltran had been 0-19 with RISP and two out before that hit. Save some runs for the nightcap, gentlemen.
   27. Chris Dial Posted: May 10, 2008 at 03:37 PM (#2776046)
Good day so far. FWIW, *this* is the game Heilman gets to pitch in.
   28. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: May 10, 2008 at 03:37 PM (#2776048)
One thing I love about Beltran is that his defense and baserunning are never affected by how he is doing at the plate, even when those struggles are health related.
   29. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: May 10, 2008 at 03:39 PM (#2776050)
This gun is juiced. 97 from Heilman.
   30. Chris Dial Posted: May 10, 2008 at 03:41 PM (#2776051)
Heilman can throw hard though. He needs to mix in a breaking ball though. Even as a showcase.
   31. Bob Koo Posted: May 10, 2008 at 03:42 PM (#2776053)
Wow, Heilman just can't piece together solid outings.
   32. Lassus Posted: May 10, 2008 at 03:43 PM (#2776054)
I would have preferred a HR from Votto so that Duaner could be closer to getting me a hold. :D
   33. Lassus Posted: May 10, 2008 at 03:43 PM (#2776056)
Well, Heilman did have solid outings on the road trip. Those don't count, though?
   34. Bob Koo Posted: May 10, 2008 at 03:44 PM (#2776057)
Also according to Elias, the Mets have been outscored by 28 runs during the seventh and eighth innings, tying them with the Padres for the worst run differential in those innings in the majors.

Well, here's your main reason why.
   35. Bob Koo Posted: May 10, 2008 at 03:45 PM (#2776058)
Well, Heilman did have solid outings on the road trip. Those don't count, though?

I didn't mean two in a row. I just meant a nice, long consistent streak.
   36. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: May 10, 2008 at 03:47 PM (#2776061)
Well, here's your main reason why.

Sosa has been pretty bad in a couple outings as well.
   37. AJM Posted: May 10, 2008 at 03:51 PM (#2776063)
Delgadit!
   38. Lassus Posted: May 10, 2008 at 03:51 PM (#2776064)
The most bad-ass 7th hitter in the league.
   39. Lassus Posted: May 10, 2008 at 03:52 PM (#2776065)
That was for you, Dial. ;-)
   40. Chris Dial Posted: May 10, 2008 at 03:53 PM (#2776066)
So much for the singles!!!
   41. Lassus Posted: May 10, 2008 at 03:55 PM (#2776067)
Who's the Next Jose Reyes?

Because this one sucks.
   42. Lassus Posted: May 10, 2008 at 03:56 PM (#2776068)
HOLY CRAP Jose's on the cover of MLB 2K. No wonder he sucks now. It's a jinx/curse thing.
   43. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: May 10, 2008 at 03:58 PM (#2776071)
I've said this before. Delgado's numbers this April were similar to last April but he looks different at the plate. He isn't getting beaten inside as often.
   44. AJM Posted: May 10, 2008 at 04:05 PM (#2776073)
Schneider hit a homer!?
   45. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: May 10, 2008 at 04:09 PM (#2776076)
Schneider so far this season. .319/.400/.362.
   46. Chris Dial Posted: May 10, 2008 at 04:21 PM (#2776082)
THis is one hideous game. At least we scored a ton.
   47. Chris Dial Posted: May 10, 2008 at 04:22 PM (#2776083)
Alrigth Sosa!!!
   48. Chris Dial Posted: May 10, 2008 at 04:22 PM (#2776084)
Okay, let's get Keppinger.
   49. AJM Posted: May 10, 2008 at 04:23 PM (#2776085)
One down, one to go.
