That'll happen when you decide to punt outfield defense.

Oh, that's just great.

And MLB.tv decides not to come back from commercial. Worth every penny.

Two half-innings, ten batters, two mid-inning pitching changes missed. A bargain at twice the price.

I have never seen those Padres camouflage jerseys before. What in God's name?

They've worn them for years and years. Big military town, San Diego.

And I can't believe this game is still going on. I ditched it like four hours ago when the bullpen blew the lead and Maddux was no longer in line for the win.

Padres usually have a camo military appreciation day, and this year they decided to have the camos be their Sunday unis. Ah, the 17th inning. How familiar this all seems. If Dusty puts Volquez in for relief, will Prior run across the field screaming "LET HIM BE?!?" before turning to throwing haymakers?

...Aaaaaaand Volquez is in in relief.

Always awesome when a team uses three starting pitchers in one game.

Ahahaha wow.

How long before we see a position player pitching?
   10. Shock Posted: May 25, 2008 at 09:45 PM (#2794338)
Josh Banks has now pitched more innings than the game's starter.

Arroyo pitched yesterday, so I doubt they'd bring him back. Cueto is scheduled to pitch Tuesday- unless Dusty throws him, a position player is next after Volquez.

Matt Vasgersian is cracking me up.

Arroyo already pinch hit, so Cueto is the only player left on the Reds bench.

Why are they pitching to Gonzalez?
   15. SouthSideRyan(CASEY'S GONE!!) Posted: May 25, 2008 at 10:01 PM (#2794346)
As a fairly neutral observer, I really want to see either Cueto come in to the game to pitch so that all 25 players are used or Volquez have to move out to LF with Freel in to pitch.

Dang.

Me too, Ryan. But A-Gone just ended it.

I've never been so certain of what a pitcher was going to throw in my life. And neither has Adrian Gonzalez.

Don't fall in love with your changeup, kids. When a batter know it's coming, it's just a BP fastball.
