Good Luck to the Cleveland Indians. I'll always have a bit of a soft spot for you in my heart for bumping off the NYY's. Well done. If you take us out also, then win the whole ball of wax, because as Captain Soul says, its your time to beat your crazy heads against the sky.

I have no idea how this one is going to go, both teams are great.

Good luck to all and please god, I hope this doesn't come down to an umps call....

Hopefully I'll be able to chatter from my mighty dial up at home

This Fox 25 local Pregame show thing is kind of odd. But they have Dewey on it, so that's a plus.

No, I am not "conflicted" about Trot Nixon coming back to play against the Red Sox.
   8. Rafael Bellylard (p8p) Posted: October 12, 2007 at 06:48 PM (#2573284)
I'm rooting for Boston, but am not going to be crushed if the Indians get in.

I bet McCarver has watched fewer than 3 Indians games all year.
   15. Dan Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:13 PM (#2573305)
Good start for Beckett!
   16. tfbg9 Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:13 PM (#2573306)
Nice.

First batter looked pretty good for Beckett.

Isn't that a violation of your parole?
   20. tfbg9 Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:14 PM (#2573311)
Pronk scares me.
   21. Dan Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:15 PM (#2573313)
If Pronk scares you, you should be glad you're a Red Sox fan and not a fan of a team that needs to faace Ortiz.

Damn, that curve was sick.
   22. Joe Bivens, Lightning Rod Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:15 PM (#2573314)
Uh oh, Beckett is on.
   23. Tony H. Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:15 PM (#2573316)
Beckett looks electric early. Wow. That swing from Astrocab was awful.
   24. Mister High Standards Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:15 PM (#2573317)
Beckett, looks sick after 2 batters.
   25. Chip Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:16 PM (#2573320)
I don't know, I'm kind of disappointed he didn't throw strike one to either Sizemore or Cabrera.
   26. Tony H. Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:16 PM (#2573321)
PRONK!!!!!!!!!!!!!
   27. Bernal Diaz has an angel on his shoulder. Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:16 PM (#2573322)

Damn wind.
   30. Dan Evensen Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:16 PM (#2573325)
Nice shot Hafner!
   31. tfbg9 Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:16 PM (#2573326)
See?
   32. PJ Martinez Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:16 PM (#2573327)
The wind?
   33. Curse of the Graffanino (dfan) Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:16 PM (#2573328)
Third batter didn't look quite as good.
   34. Bernal Diaz has an angel on his shoulder. Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:16 PM (#2573329)
I typed that before the ball landed.
   35. Joe Bivens, Lightning Rod Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:16 PM (#2573330)
Uh oh, Hafner is on.
   36. Declino DeShields Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:17 PM (#2573331)
Pronk is now a verb, apparently.
   37. Chip Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:17 PM (#2573332)
Not even a strike. But sure in a position he could elevate it.
   38. AuntBea Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:17 PM (#2573334)
Has he started anybody with a strike?
   39. tfbg9 Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:18 PM (#2573336)
Settle the f*ck down now.
   40. Dan Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:18 PM (#2573337)
No
   41. Bernal Diaz has an angel on his shoulder. Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:18 PM (#2573338)
Which announcer will say "That may be all CC needs" first?
   42. PJ Martinez Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:18 PM (#2573339)
Off the bat, it looked too elevated to me. But what do I know. (Not much.)
   43. Chip Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:18 PM (#2573340)
No. Ball one to each of the first four.
   44. Rafael Bellylard (p8p) Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:18 PM (#2573342)
I gotta go rub some puppy bellies.

Afew years ago I stopped at a friend's house before going to bowling league and was encourage to rub "puppy heads" for luck. I shot 300-270 the first two games. The third game shall go unmentioned.

I went back the next week. Damned puppies musta grown or something, becasue I barely shot my average.
   45. Mister High Standards Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:19 PM (#2573344)
I typed that before the ball landed

########. Either that or your one of those FONKS (have fan half donkey) who cheers for a rotine flyball. After the bat that didn't look like it was even getting to the track.
   46. Bernal Diaz has an angel on his shoulder. Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:20 PM (#2573345)
Is everyone's Fox picture complete ####?
   47. PJ Martinez Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:20 PM (#2573346)
Curve is working anyway.
   48. Dan Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:20 PM (#2573347)
TTT inning.

Or it could be I have watched just about everyone on Hafner's HR for his career in Cleveland and can tell when he gets into one. But you keep being a douche, you are good at it.
   51. Joe Bivens, Lightning Rod Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:21 PM (#2573350)
I have to go to my lucky spot. I will enjoy tomorrow's game from the living room.
   52. Rafael Bellylard (p8p) Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:21 PM (#2573352)
It's ok, I have the over.
   53. Dan Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:22 PM (#2573353)
TTO* inning, that is.
   54. tfbg9 Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:23 PM (#2573355)
I thought it looked like it had a chance off the swing, and I'm no douche.

Shut up Chip!
   55. Mister High Standards Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:23 PM (#2573357)
Or it could be I have watched just about everyone on Hafner's HR for his career in Cleveland and can tell when he gets into one. But you keep being a douche, you are good at it.

Do they all get carried by the wind? No wonder he was so mediocre this year - must not have been a lot of wind this year.
   56. AuntBea Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:23 PM (#2573358)
Does the wind blow out to right field often at Fenway?
   57. PJ Martinez Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:24 PM (#2573359)
The wind is swirling. Swirrrling toward freedom.
   58. AuntBea Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:24 PM (#2573360)
The way the rightfielder slowly backed up on it made it look wind-aided.
   59. tfbg9 Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:24 PM (#2573361)
Crap.
   60. Dan Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:24 PM (#2573362)
Christ that was a rocket
   61. Mister High Standards Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:24 PM (#2573364)
How lucky.
   62. Dan Evensen Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:24 PM (#2573365)
That was all self defense.
   63. PJ Martinez Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:24 PM (#2573366)
Look what I found.
   64. Chip Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:24 PM (#2573367)
Pedroia almost killed CC.
   65. Bernal Diaz has an angel on his shoulder. Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:25 PM (#2573368)
Must have been the bugs....must have been the wind....yeah the Indians are all smoke and mirrors.
   66. Rafael Bellylard (p8p) Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:25 PM (#2573369)
If he hadn't caught that, the Tribe would be in the bullpen.
   67. Chip Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:26 PM (#2573370)
Must have been the bugs....must have been the wind....yeah the Indians are all smoke and mirrors.

First inning of the first game, and we're already paranoid and defensive.
   68. Mister High Standards Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:26 PM (#2573371)
It's very windy too, 20-25 MPH wind. But Bernal has pychic powers, that was LIGHT TOWER POWER.
   69. Dan Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:26 PM (#2573372)
YOUK
   70. PJ Martinez Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:26 PM (#2573373)
Jhonny is mhediocre in the field.
   71. AuntBea Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:26 PM (#2573374)
Hey I thought it was the bugs and the wind... but am rooting for the Indians. They certainly outplayed the Yanks.
   72. Chip Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:27 PM (#2573376)
That was Pasta Diving Jeteriffic.

Two batters, two hard hit balls off CC.
   73. Mister High Standards Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:27 PM (#2573377)
Who said the indians were smoke and mirrors? I said Hafners homer was aided by the wind, which any one trying to look at objectively would likly agree. If/when the sox get some wind aid, I won't be afraid to say it.
   74. PJ Martinez Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:28 PM (#2573379)
Heckuva fastball.
   75. Chip Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:28 PM (#2573381)
98? Our usual juiced Fox gun?
   76. Mister High Standards Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:28 PM (#2573382)
Ball 1 to Ortiz might have been a stike. Really great pitch up 0-2.
   77. Dan Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:29 PM (#2573383)
Great AB there for Ortiz, hanging in there.
   78. Chip Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:29 PM (#2573384)
Another ball hit hard.
   79. tfbg9 Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:29 PM (#2573385)
Rally time.
   80. Curse of the Graffanino (dfan) Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:29 PM (#2573386)
Good thing they positioned their second baseman up the middle.
   81. Rafael Bellylard (p8p) Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:29 PM (#2573387)
Sabathia seems to manage one hittable pitch per AB.
   82. Mister High Standards Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:29 PM (#2573388)
What the heck was Youk doing there? Looked like he really wanted to goto third?
   83. Tony H. Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:30 PM (#2573389)
Did McCarver just imply Grady Sizemore has a strong arm?
   84. Bernal Diaz has an angel on his shoulder. Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:30 PM (#2573390)
CC can throw 98. Easy.
   85. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:30 PM (#2573391)
He goes to third on Ichiro?
   86. AuntBea Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:30 PM (#2573392)
All 3 back up the middle so far. Are we supposed to believe Ortiz has that much aim?
   87. NJ in DC (Now with Law School!!!) Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:30 PM (#2573394)
On any other CF they try to go to 3rd??? Really, Tim????
   88. Buzzards Bay Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:30 PM (#2573393)
time for the tao of #24
   89. PJ Martinez Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:30 PM (#2573395)
Ball 1 to Manny looked pretty good.
   90. Bernal Diaz has an angel on his shoulder. Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:31 PM (#2573397)
The first pitch looked more like a strike than the second.
   91. Chip Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:31 PM (#2573398)
Misses location badly, gets a corner call for strike two.
   92. Curse of the Graffanino (dfan) Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:32 PM (#2573399)
Yeehah
   93. PJ Martinez Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:32 PM (#2573400)
All up the middle, right?
   94. The Ghost of Sox Fans Past Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:32 PM (#2573402)
That's "MANNY still red hot", Joe.
   95. PJ Martinez Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:32 PM (#2573403)
Or did Youkilis go more to left? I don't remember.
   96. Dan Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:32 PM (#2573404)
Looks like Sabathia has Josh Beckett 2006 Syndrome, trying to blow away everyone with the FB
   97. tfbg9 Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:32 PM (#2573405)
June 23, 1975: Released by the Boston Red Sox.

This is why McCarver hates us. My pet theory.

4 Sox, 4 bullets, one run. So far.
   98. Rafael Bellylard (p8p) Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:32 PM (#2573406)
Including the one that almost took his head off.
   99. Chip Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:33 PM (#2573407)
Buck: "Ortiz will stop at second, and Ortiz remains red hot." Gee, do you think Joe just parachuted in from doing football the last five weeks?
   100. PJ Martinez Posted: October 12, 2007 at 07:33 PM (#2573408)
"Looks like Sabathia has Josh Beckett 2006 Syndrome, trying to blow away everyone with the FB"
