Casey McGehee reminds me of the adult swim cartoon :Assy McGee.
   102. Fred C. Dobbs Posted: September 03, 2008 at 10:11 PM (#2928398)
Got the dirty down low McGehee blues right now.
   103. I can out-debate Joe Biden; Nieporent said so Posted: September 03, 2008 at 10:12 PM (#2928401)
That was a general rant; any resemblance to an actual professional baseball player, real or imaginary, is purely coincidental.

I'm going for a walk. I can't watch this anymore.
   104. VoodooR Posted: September 03, 2008 at 10:15 PM (#2928407)
I hate Casey McGehee.
   105. Giantandre Posted: September 03, 2008 at 10:16 PM (#2928408)
John McEnroe is a great announcer ... Oh the Cubs are still playing .... I don't believe you
   106. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: September 03, 2008 at 10:16 PM (#2928409)
I guess it was greedy to be thinking 100-win season. It's amazing to think that as badly as this series has gone, the Cubs won't lose a single game in the standings. But this was really their chance to make those games with Milwaukee meaningless.

At any rate, at least we'll be able to look back years from now and be able to proudly say Lou's dementia escalated to another level while he was in a Cubs uniform.
   107. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: September 03, 2008 at 10:17 PM (#2928411)
It only took two at-bats for Casey McGehee to become a despised member of the Cubs organization. That's gotta be a record.
   108. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: September 03, 2008 at 10:21 PM (#2928414)
At least I don't have to physically see that fat piece of #### Valverde tonight.
   109. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: September 03, 2008 at 10:22 PM (#2928415)
I can't believe the Cubs are going to get shut out at home two times in three days.
   110. Giantandre Posted: September 03, 2008 at 10:22 PM (#2928416)
I have the sound down due to the tennis match....How is the crowd taking this?
   111. retro-shiite Posted: September 03, 2008 at 10:23 PM (#2928417)
I'll buy a beer for anyone who comes up with good "down and dirty McGehee blues" lyrics by the end of the evening.
   112. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: September 03, 2008 at 10:25 PM (#2928421)
They aren't drawing walks and thus, aren't having many deep at-bats. Lou needs to go crazy and throw a base. Hopefully it'll hit McGehee.
   113. Giantandre Posted: September 03, 2008 at 10:25 PM (#2928422)
Now would have been the right time for Howry ....
   114. Bunny Vincennes Posted: September 03, 2008 at 10:25 PM (#2928423)
There is tons of sucking by your Chicago National Leauge Ballclub. Awful. I'm ashamed.
   115. Bunny Vincennes Posted: September 03, 2008 at 10:26 PM (#2928425)
Neil Cotts. #### off.

Well, kind of. There are several Cubs that were hated the moment they were given their uniform. Neifi, Lenny Harris, Tony Womack, Cesar Izturis, and of course, Jim Edmonds.

Apparently the Republicans have control of the cameras. They keeping cutting to that damn baby, why?
   118. retro-shiite Posted: September 03, 2008 at 10:28 PM (#2928432)
Because illegitimate children are emblematic of family values.
   119. Bunny Vincennes Posted: September 03, 2008 at 10:30 PM (#2928434)
I'd go for the head of Randy Wolf here. Nothing to lose.
   120. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: September 03, 2008 at 10:31 PM (#2928436)
Michael Bourne, the guy with an OBP well under .300, has hit like Willie Mays in this series.
   121. Bunny Vincennes Posted: September 03, 2008 at 10:31 PM (#2928438)
I hate Bourne. Douche.
   122. Giantandre Posted: September 03, 2008 at 10:31 PM (#2928439)
Dear Fans,

We're sorry, we forgot to play like ourselves in our recent trip to the Sunshine State, Therefore we were forced to regress at home to the Houston Astros (Formerly the Colt '45s). Again we apologize, but fans do not fret (despite our history of this sort of thing) the Cincinnati Red Legs are on tap, and that idiot (err Dusty Baker) owes us a thing or two.

Your Friends,

The Chicago Cubs

PS -- Enjoy our late season schedule
   123. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: September 03, 2008 at 10:32 PM (#2928440)
Have I mentioned I hate the Astros more than the White Sox or Cardinals? I mean, it's really not even close.
   124. Bunny Vincennes Posted: September 03, 2008 at 10:33 PM (#2928442)
The Cubs are braindead. #### them.
   125. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: September 03, 2008 at 10:34 PM (#2928444)
I love reading posts like #124 when there's a clear lag on Gameday. Dare I ask what happened?
   126. VoodooR Posted: September 03, 2008 at 10:35 PM (#2928445)
Because illegitimate children are emblematic of family values.

The kid with Down Syndrome? Not illegitimate...right? Or are we still running with the "It's really Bristol's baby" theory?
   127. Bunny Vincennes Posted: September 03, 2008 at 10:35 PM (#2928447)
The Cubs ####### sucked. What else do you need to know?
   128. Giantandre Posted: September 03, 2008 at 10:36 PM (#2928449)
A beautifully executed steal of home .. and by beautiful, I mean mean a play totally ###### up by our beloved little team
   129. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: September 03, 2008 at 10:36 PM (#2928450)
Lou had better have plenty to say tonight. This is getting ridiculous.
   130. Giantandre Posted: September 03, 2008 at 10:37 PM (#2928453)
All of Palin's children haver names like they are cast members of "Days of Our Lives"
   131. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: September 03, 2008 at 10:38 PM (#2928455)
Aside from the soon-to-be second longest losing streak this season, nothing bad had really happened to the Cubs. So it's like all of the negatives are getting stacked up in the span of a single week.
   132. Giantandre Posted: September 03, 2008 at 10:38 PM (#2928457)
Randy Wolf is going for a CG-SHO UNFREAKING BELIEVABLE
   133. Bunny Vincennes Posted: September 03, 2008 at 10:39 PM (#2928459)
Oh, and the Republicans think that their prego VP canidates daughter is an example of normal people and why abstinence only education works. Woo hoo. I'm salivating as to how teenage hockey player kid (17yrs old), is dealing with his arranged marriage via the Republican Party.

Divorce, October 2010.
   134. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: September 03, 2008 at 10:40 PM (#2928460)
Not even a fake rally. Get this #### out of your systems, Cubs, because if anything like this happens in October, I'm liable to break something costly.
   135. Giantandre Posted: September 03, 2008 at 10:41 PM (#2928465)
Go out and get Fed Up Drunk 2 nite Cubbies and lets get back to the grindstone on Friday .... FORGET IT AND MOVE ON ----- Someone talk me off the ledge
   136. retro-shiite Posted: September 03, 2008 at 10:41 PM (#2928466)
Wow, what a shite sandwich of a series.
   137. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: September 03, 2008 at 10:42 PM (#2928467)
My one positive comment about the Cubs for the night: the Astros are unstoppable right now. This is the sort of streak playoff-bound teams dream of. It's evidence that it doesn't matter how good you really are; if you get hot at the right time, you can clean up.
   138. retro-shiite Posted: September 03, 2008 at 10:43 PM (#2928468)
The kid with Down Syndrome? Not illegitimate...right? Or are we still running with the "It's really Bristol's baby" theory?

I was thinking of Bristol's upcoming blessed event, so I suppose that's not the baby they keep cutting to. My bad.
   139. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: September 03, 2008 at 10:44 PM (#2928469)
####, I forgot about the day off tomorrow. At this point, it's probably a positive, but that means we all get to stew in the knowledge that the Cubs got swept at home by the Astros. And shutout in two of those.
   140. Giantandre Posted: September 03, 2008 at 10:44 PM (#2928470)
Wow Palin is going after Obama --- I Don't know about that strategy
   141. Giantandre Posted: September 03, 2008 at 10:45 PM (#2928472)
Is that Tina Fey ?????
   142. SouthSideRyan(CASEY'S GONE!!) Posted: September 03, 2008 at 10:46 PM (#2928473)
Man eff you guys, I hated Casey McGehee before he even took an AB. You're stealing my schtick.
   143. retro-shiite Posted: September 03, 2008 at 10:46 PM (#2928474)
Yeah, she's throwing red meat to her base, but I'm not sure she wants to go there. Rudy did plenty of the attackdog bit himself.
   144. retro-shiite Posted: September 03, 2008 at 10:46 PM (#2928475)
SSR, we, the recently converted, bow to your prescience.
   145. Giantandre Posted: September 03, 2008 at 10:50 PM (#2928476)
Republicans scare me --- and I live in one of the larges GOP bases in the USA
   146. SouthSideRyan(CASEY'S GONE!!) Posted: September 03, 2008 at 11:01 PM (#2928487)
She does look way more Fey-ish than usual.
