Well done, big fella, well done.

At least its for a Cause, Phil. Why doesn't Henry just pledge 10 million?
   402. So long Alex Chilton (Phil Coorey) Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:24 PM (#2489862)
Well, he saw that the batter hadn't left the box when he popped up the bunt, and thought he might able to steal a DP. But it was a real longshot, and not worth the exchange.

The funniest part was a mate was here when that happened and he is trying to learn the game.

He 'thought this game was a little simpler'?

As we know, it is every night.

I look insensitive mentioning it tonight, but it always happens.

Driving me nuts.

Holy ####, I didn't realise he was perfect so far
   405. Chip Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:26 PM (#2489868)
Ervin Santana has a perfect game going. I repeat, Ervin Santana has a perfect game going.

F*ck you Manny.

Broken-bat single. Figures.

Ha, ha, ha, ha.

what a crap swing on the 3-1

bloop breaks it up

First opportunity to face Santana from the stretch, and what does Lowell do? HACK!
   412. So long Alex Chilton (Phil Coorey) Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:28 PM (#2489878)
Broken-bat single. Figures.

Hey softy,

What is Santana doing differently tonight??

Great stuff Lowell
   413. tfbg9 Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:28 PM (#2489879)
Really stupid Aaflac question.

Steal Drew.

Send Madeleine here or no?
   415. tfbg9 Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:30 PM (#2489883)
Wow. I just looked him up. Kevin Cash is worse than Marc Sullivan! Oh-oh!
   416. Los Angeles Softballer of Anaheim Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:30 PM (#2489884)
I think we should go for a better nickname than "Softy".

Santana's throwing the fastball for strikes, saving the breaking stuff for when he gets ahead. And he's just hitting his spots.
   417. So long Alex Chilton (Phil Coorey) Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:30 PM (#2489885)
At least we are not leaving craploads of runners on the bases...
   418. IronChef Chris Wok Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:30 PM (#2489886)
Never mind, you stink Varitek. Although that might be because he's in hi 15th IP of catching already.
   419. Los Angeles Softballer of Anaheim Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:31 PM (#2489887)
I should note that one of Santana's problems earlier this season was throwing the breaking stuff too often, relying on his 2nd and 3rd best pitches instead of his fastball. So today's different.
   420. tfbg9 Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:31 PM (#2489888)
Hitting the cheap Cognac hard tonight. Ought to be Wok-like incoherant in an hour or so. :)

Thanks

I still love him for winning game 5 of the ALDS in 2005 vs. the EE
   423. Los Angeles Softballer of Anaheim Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:32 PM (#2489893)
If you've got to nick it, I do respond to the name "Human". :)
   424. IronChef Chris Wok Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:33 PM (#2489894)
If this offense sucked any more dongs we would have to be renamed the Paris Hilton Red Sox.
   425. tfbg9 Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:33 PM (#2489895)
Mr. Softy is a decent nickname for Drew?
   426. konaforever Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:33 PM (#2489896)
Lugo is awesome.
   427. Los Angeles Softballer of Anaheim Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:33 PM (#2489897)
Man, Lugo looks like me at shortstop. And I have a playoff game tonight!
   428. So long Alex Chilton (Phil Coorey) Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:33 PM (#2489898)
Lugo is a useless ####### piece of crap
   429. Chip Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:33 PM (#2489899)
Lugo now 1-4 on fielding attempts that should have been outs.
   430. IronChef Chris Wok Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:33 PM (#2489900)
I HATE YOU LUGO DIE ALREADY
   431. Chip Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:34 PM (#2489901)
His fielding slump started on the road trip, and has gotten progressively worse.
   432. So long Alex Chilton (Phil Coorey) Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:34 PM (#2489902)
They are determined not to win the doubleheader
   433. Andere Richtingen Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:34 PM (#2489904)
I heart Lugo.
   434. tfbg9 Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:35 PM (#2489905)
Not our night.

How did he not catch that drive before?

Here comes the winning runs
   436. IronChef Chris Wok Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:36 PM (#2489909)
Hey God, trade the cancer of one of the Jimmy Fund kids and put it on Lugo, thanks.
   437. Los Angeles Softballer of Anaheim Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:37 PM (#2489912)
I have both Lackey and Beckett on my $$$ fantasy league team. Today isn't going to help my cause.
   438. tfbg9 Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:37 PM (#2489913)
Not a particularly good team to trail going into the later innings to...these Angels.
   439. tfbg9 Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:37 PM (#2489914)
Must K him. Use two-seamer...now.
   440. IronChef Chris Wok Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:38 PM (#2489915)
Do not stand up on high fastball call.
   441. tfbg9 Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:38 PM (#2489916)
Or the change thing. OK.
   442. So long Alex Chilton (Phil Coorey) Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:39 PM (#2489917)
A double play here would be an awesome momentum turner...
   443. konaforever Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:39 PM (#2489918)
Someday Lugo will get a handle on this fielding thing.
   444. tfbg9 Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:39 PM (#2489920)
My family cat growing up in PA was called Bootsy. She was a hell of a Micer too.

This mouse snagger has hurt us this year.
   447. IronChef Chris Wok Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:40 PM (#2489923)
Dammit
   448. Chip Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:40 PM (#2489924)
As happened all too often in Anaheim, Red Sox pitchers unable to get out the crappiest of Angels. I mean, Izturis? Come on.
   449. tfbg9 Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:41 PM (#2489925)
See, what I just did there was break with a really bad joke, then beat you all over the head with it in a subsequent post!
   450. IronChef Chris Wok Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:42 PM (#2489926)
Izturis has been crazy lately though
   451. tfbg9 Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:42 PM (#2489927)
Be the New Old Beckett. The Big Stud Who Rises to the Occasion!
   452. Los Angeles Softballer of Anaheim Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:43 PM (#2489928)
In defense of Izturis, he's a pretty decent hitting middle infielder. Next season, he'll be blocked by the OC when he's clearly going to be the better option, and about seven million dollars cheaper.
   453. tfbg9 Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:43 PM (#2489929)
Must get this hump out. Reverse Chip's trend.
   454. tfbg9 Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:44 PM (#2489930)
Curve Time.
   455. IronChef Chris Wok Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:45 PM (#2489931)
Stay with the heat, but dno't stand up Varitek
   456. tfbg9 Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:45 PM (#2489932)

   457. So long Alex Chilton (Phil Coorey) Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:45 PM (#2489933)

Curve Time.

giddy up
   459. konaforever Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:46 PM (#2489936)
I hope Beckett poisons Lugo postgame meal.
   460. tfbg9 Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:46 PM (#2489937)
We'll probably lose tonight, but Beckett is a real badas$ lately. Love the big Dumb Rube.
   461. Los Angeles Softballer of Anaheim Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:47 PM (#2489938)
I'm not so sure. Shields and Rodriguez have both been walk-tastic lately. It wouldn't shock me to see one of them give it up against a patient team.
   462. tfbg9 Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:47 PM (#2489939)
He's really got it going these days. Watch him get chased next frame...
   463. Chip Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:48 PM (#2489942)
Varitek struggled with both those curveballs like they were knuckleballs.

Which reminds me, one of the other things they said between games, in the wake of the Mirabelli DL trip, is that they're probably going to start Tavarez on Sunday and push Wakefield back to Monday in Tampa, I assume to give Cash more time to work with him.
   464. tfbg9 Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:49 PM (#2489943)
Hinske, that was just brutal. WTF? Down on the Under?
   465. IronChef Chris Wok Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:49 PM (#2489945)
Tavarez on Sunday and push Wakefield back to Monday in Tampa

Good, why were they removing Wakefield from a Tampa start is beyond me anyway.
   466. So long Alex Chilton (Phil Coorey) Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:49 PM (#2489946)
This useless #### needs to get on and score
   467. tfbg9 Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:50 PM (#2489947)

Lugo's gonna get picked off
   473. tfbg9 Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:52 PM (#2489954)
Very poised young woman, no?
   474. Chip Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:52 PM (#2489955)
The lefty Red Sox have all looked bad when Santana throws that curveball right at them.
   475. tfbg9 Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:53 PM (#2489956)
2-0, hack kid. You're hot.
   476. So long Alex Chilton (Phil Coorey) Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:53 PM (#2489957)

   486. tfbg9 Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:58 PM (#2489972)
Pick which is cheesier: the Sox Reclino-Chair or Tina Cervasio?
   487. Chip Posted: August 17, 2007 at 07:59 PM (#2489974)
Bonderman has been bad lately, hasn't he?

Yeh, hopefully Pettitte will suck it up as well.

Hey Andere!!
   490. jimmybob Posted: August 17, 2007 at 08:00 PM (#2489976)
Its Nate Robertson, not Bonderman. The Yankees lineup is loaded with lhp so its not a bad matchup for Nate.
   491. jimmybob Posted: August 17, 2007 at 08:00 PM (#2489977)
*lhh
   492. tfbg9 Posted: August 17, 2007 at 08:00 PM (#2489978)
OK, thnaks Lugo.
   493. Chip Posted: August 17, 2007 at 08:00 PM (#2489980)
How can he make that play and #### up all the easier ones earlier in the game?
   494. Dave Bell Posted: August 17, 2007 at 08:01 PM (#2489982)
Dragons were stuffed as soon as gasnier was out most of the year. No ideas in attack.

Been pretty good, was in the states a couple of weeks ago, saw a game at Safeco. Pretty much the best stadium ever.

How is toowoomba?
   495. tfbg9 Posted: August 17, 2007 at 08:01 PM (#2489983)
Hazel Mae looks a little wierder each week. Is she a tiny man?
   496. So long Alex Chilton (Phil Coorey) Posted: August 17, 2007 at 08:01 PM (#2489984)
Santana at 85 pitches. This our last chance? I think i want the bullpen as well...

I would love to beat K rod here actually

Lugo did something half ####### usefull!!
   497. tfbg9 Posted: August 17, 2007 at 08:02 PM (#2489985)

Because he is haunted by guilt?

I'm glad I watched the earlier game. Ugh. Let's string 2 together, ok?
   499. Chip Posted: August 17, 2007 at 08:03 PM (#2489987)
Wow, that is one ugly ass chair.

Pretty sure its an MLB Licensing product, with one available for every team - they had a bunch of them on the field during the Home Run Derby at the ASG game.
   500. tfbg9 Posted: August 17, 2007 at 08:03 PM (#2489988)
Ortiz is looking all-f*cked up, despite today's HR.
