Oh, and I hate Blow Duca. Can you believe what he said?

Is Alou dead? It seems like the Mets have given up hope on getting him back ever.
I spotted that in the A's chatter that they're pretty excited about Kurt Suzuki. And with Cust locked into DH... well, you know where I'm going with this.
All-out and they aren't playing Gomez?
Well, you know. Close to all-out.
The strike zone is odd, I admit.
Just advance the runner, Delgado. That's all that I want from you right now.
Nice hit, David.
Sam, I'm willing to acknowledge that. But it doesn't change the way I feel.
That's playing in Shea, of course. And let's see where he ends up. I'm not saying he's great, nor that the Mets would be best served keeping him around (especially given his likely price tag). Just that he's better than the prevailing attitude towards him around here would suggest -- which, after all, is a pretty low bar.
And that's what I'm calling that park, by the way. Or just Shea.
I agree, but he couldn't possibly be as bad as we say. Even Rey Ordonez wasn't that bad!
He also deserves a little bit of credit for durability. One way to look at it is most of the regular catchers are better than him (so far this year at least), but that does mean there are only 11 catchers better than him, which makes him at least average. (looking purely from the offensive standpoint.)
I'm so glad I get to hear Keith on the Phillies broadcast.
A home run!
I just looked up the EQA numbers, Blowduca is exactly a league average hitting catcher. 246 on the nose. Also, I loved whoever it was here that referred to him as a "fiery midget." I dont know why but I think thats one of the funniest things ever on this site.
Love him. Just love him. Whether he talks to the press enough to suit LoDuca's taste or not.
In fact, that was the most encouraging swing I've seen out of him in quite some time.
Swoon.
El Duque!!
Not really. Glavine, El Duque, Perez, Maine. What's the problem?
And don't go there, Matt. I know what you're gonna say . . . don't go there. Yet.
I won't.
Well, and Maine has too. And Perez.
He had a pretty lousy April and a brutal June. 2006 was a little over his head, but he's got a career .340 OBP and a career .415 SLG, playing the vast majority of his career at Dodger Stadium and Shea. I expect him to be a little better as the season progresses.
