That was a pretty crappy AB by Jackson.

Step away for a bit, and the bases are loaded?

Ouch, now a liner off Counsell's glove and some more crappy running by AZ.

McClung's not exactly sharp tonight. 2 HBP this inning?
   4. NTNgod Posted: July 02, 2008 at 10:08 PM (#2841116)
WTF was THAT?!?!?!
   5. NTNgod Posted: July 02, 2008 at 10:09 PM (#2841118)
Thankfully that non-strike call didn't matter.
   6. NTNgod Posted: July 02, 2008 at 10:28 PM (#2841210)
Off second base... talk about bad luck. 2-0 AZ
   7. NTNgod Posted: July 02, 2008 at 10:32 PM (#2841219)
At least McClung was able to get out it due to the presence of Upton, the TwoTrueOutcome King (SO, BB).

Brewers not doing much against Petit so far, to put it mildly.

I don't think this is the game that you should be complaining about bad luck marring your starter's outing.

Well, if that particular hit hadn't bounced off second base, Counsell keeps it from going into the infield, and the run doesn't score, keeping things at 1-0. That is bad luck.

Now, if the D'backs weren't flashing back to Little League in running the bases, yes, they would have more runs, but that's stupidity, not bad luck.

A run! 2-1 AZ
   12. NTNgod Posted: July 02, 2008 at 11:36 PM (#2841511)
Cameron!!!! TIE GAME!

A triple and a double in his two batters. I'm liking Qualls.
   13. NTNgod Posted: July 02, 2008 at 11:47 PM (#2841538)
Not looking good for Villanueva in his second inning.

Another bunt attempt with Jackson? D'backs really going whole hog with the bunting and ultra-aggressive baserunning tonight.
   14. NTNgod Posted: July 02, 2008 at 11:50 PM (#2841546)
Although the situation now looks a bit better, thanks to Reynolds.
   15. NTNgod Posted: July 02, 2008 at 11:53 PM (#2841560)
Whew. Nice bullet dodge by Shouse.
   16. NTNgod Posted: July 02, 2008 at 11:57 PM (#2841569)
WEEKS!!!!!!! PH HR!

3-2 Brew Crew!!
   17. NTNgod Posted: July 02, 2008 at 11:57 PM (#2841572)
That was a really crappy two-strike pitch by Pena.
   18. NTNgod Posted: July 03, 2008 at 12:04 AM (#2841591)
Young just robbed Fielder with the sliding catch, and got the DP to boot. Nuts.
   19. NTNgod Posted: July 03, 2008 at 12:07 AM (#2841604)
And now Riske pulls a Pena to Upton. Tied again.
   20. NTNgod Posted: July 03, 2008 at 12:20 AM (#2841656)
Oopsie, Reynolds.
   21. NTNgod Posted: July 03, 2008 at 12:25 AM (#2841677)
Cameron! 4-3 Brew Crew!
   22. NTNgod Posted: July 03, 2008 at 12:28 AM (#2841688)
Christ... Chris Young just robbed with Dillon with an over-the-wall catch.
   23. NTNgod Posted: July 03, 2008 at 12:29 AM (#2841690)
He seemed to hurt himself on the play, though.
   24. NTNgod Posted: July 03, 2008 at 12:31 AM (#2841695)
Ahh, it would have stayed in the park.
   25. NTNgod Posted: July 03, 2008 at 12:36 AM (#2841716)
After Young's run-saving catch to end the last inning, I'll be ticked if he drives in a run here.

Even with all of the frustrating things done - the bullpen's inability to put up zeroes, the outs on the bases, bunting with the best hitter on your team - this is the sort of game that makes me love baseball.

This has been awesome.
   27. NTNgod Posted: July 03, 2008 at 12:37 AM (#2841723)
Game-ending DP!!!!!!!!!! Jesus.
   28. dahlian Kirby, children's author extraordinaire. Posted: July 03, 2008 at 12:38 AM (#2841725)
Oof. Another ground ball to third that puts a dagger in the snakes.
   29. NTNgod Posted: July 03, 2008 at 12:38 AM (#2841726)
Of course, Young owed the Brewers one, so it was just evening things out.
