Looper -- .333 (batting for the pitchers)
also it's funny that the al leader in homeruns has 24, the Phillies have 3 guys with more, the Cardinals have 2 guys with 22, Brewers have two with 20 or better.
he gets almost Edmonds level of jumps on the bar but has taguchi level of a clue where it's going after the initial jump.
good carving of Hardy.
Yea Ludwick.
I actually think the Cardinals looked better this time through.
Of course she has Hardy and I was trying to convince her to bench him tonite.
The Cardinals now have the situations that they hope for by doing that. I have almost never understood the concept of intentionally walking the 8th hitter(in this case the 7th--but same theory)
Nice catch by Prince.
Release Izturis, bring up Barden.
Release Jimenez, bring up Boggs.
Release Villone replace him with Garcia.
Demote Ryan and bring up Hoffpauir.(or Freese)
wow, freaky
11 pitches each of the first four innings.
2 - Isn't Boggs already up? Releasing Jimenez would be great.
3 - Isn't Garcia in the rotation at the present time?
4 - Freese is a 3B, I don't think he can play SS so it'd have to be Hoffpauir. But ok.
Who came up for Duncan, Mather?
Mather was recalled.

not sure we need a shortstop, let Miles and Barden play there don't really need three people capable playing short. I probably would lean towards Hoffpauir so that he gets playing time but it doesn't really matter to me, just bringing up kids is nice.
TLR needs this though. Really badly.
This is ridiculous....................

TLR quick hooks Pineiro, but he's willing to let the rest go, mostly. He'll ride Lohse tonight.
in a pinch Albert can play short :)
and then he'll still allow him to pitch.
Miles is a 2B who can sort of fake SS, and Barden is a 3B who can sort of fake SS. I think he'd want an actual SS, just in case.
the quotes from the minors indicate Barden is thought of being a capable major league defensive shortstop, in fact they don't think he has the bat to be a corner player (he feels the same way)
as to Miles his defense at short was better last year than his defense at second base, this year his defense at second has improved (no I don't know the numbers, going by my eyes right now) and his shortstop defense hasn't been as good as last year, but it's more than passable for a team that has watched Renteria and Eckstein over the past few seasons.
for the record I do agree with you, that I doubt they release Izturis, I'm just stating my hopeful situations.
In short, call up Hoffpauir and Barden. Let him fake SS.
All good things come to an end.
Hey now, that is the Jim Edmonds swing.
What? No...he's on deck.
What? No...he's on deck
they were focusing on him stretching after that play at first, and he was talking to the dugout and gesturing with his hands pointing to his right hamstring.
??? I thought he was still on the DL.
I found this: Possible torn MCL
I found this: Possible torn MCL
ouch, he's starting to become a fragile player it seems.
(that pickel guy on StlToday is pretty good source of info)
And ####### Weeks smokes another ball.
Skip made a poor throw there.
McClellan.
Yeah, he thinks it sucks. Which happens to be the truth.
actually it says more about TLR wanting to give Lohse a chance to continue his winning streak. (I think)
"rick ankiel when facing a lefty who throws a good pitch, has a chance of making an out, but if the lefty hangs one, Rick can kill the ball"
what next, water is wet?
You think TLR is the sort, in a potentially game-changing situation, who would put streaks ahead of his team's chances to win?
If he had no confidence in his bullpen, and thought Lohse was the best option, that's one thing. What you're proposing is another.

at times yes I do, he's very loyal to his players and will do stuff that is in the players best interest over the teams.
I honestly think it was a mix of both, if he had confidence in his pen he would have pulled Lohse before the tying run reached scoring position.
I would give 50/50 odds that Izturis bats next inning. If Miles gets on base then Izturis may sacrifice, but if Miles makes an out, I think Mather has a chance of batting. (of course with a short bench who knows anymore)
