I think Jermaine Dye is the very good hitter who looks the least intimidating at the plate, taking that title from Eric Chavez sometime when EC went from very good to crap.

JD Drew?

does Jenks have a nickname yet? Seems like he could use one. How about "Chunk"?

Oh, 'twas a good run. Next year we will have our revenge. Neshek will be back, full season of Liriano. And there is always the chance that Ozzie Guillen will overthrow his friend Hugo in a coup.

The Twins really were the Mets tonight. Maybe it's my fault for showing up to this chatter. Sorry guys.

Of course Punto had the platoon advantage against Danks, though in his case that's no advantage. Kubel would not have the platoon advantage against Danks. He would have it against Jenks. Still i think Gardy stays with his 3 guys. Well, maybe not Casilla...?

Anybody wanna bet Gomez lays one down? Can the fat man field the ball?

The game's going to end with Mauer on deck because teams insist on putting a shitty hitter in the 2 hole as long as he has "bat control."

Wow, nice catch to end it.

Oh, there's going to be some SPECTACULAR car bonfires on the south side tonight. Watch out, Ryan.
   309. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: September 30, 2008 at 09:57 PM (#2961965)
Griffey does not make that catch, I'm pretty certain.

A tip of the cap to Danks -- and Blackburn -- for a fine performance under pressure.

welp...happy for the sox....feel sad for the twins.

Congratulations Tampa Bay Rays.... errr.. I mean Chicago White Sox.

Enjoy it for the glorious three games you will see.

Kenny Williams is the saber anti-Christ.

LOL: from the apt. across the way. "#### you, MinnesoTAAAAH!"

(cue sound of bottle broken over head)

I actually think they might do well against Jenks.

...

That was quick. Now TBS will have an excuse to air Rays games in prime time when the Cubs wipe out.... the Chicago TV market will still be there.

jeez, try taking a damn pitch, Minnesota
   317. sunnyday2 Posted: September 30, 2008 at 10:00 PM (#2961974)
I am shocked Kubel led off rather than batting for Casilla, platoon or not.

If Gardy is the second best manager in the AL, it is a frickin' leper colony. The guy's brain just completely freezes in games that matter.

Congrats Sox fans!

Billy Beane is the pope black Kenny Williams!

Hell of a game. Great to see it won on a Thome home run.

When he gets to 600, are we going to have to put up with another spate of "He's still not a Hall of Famer" articles?

Kenny Williams is the saber anti-Christ.

Thus making the Sox/Rays matchup all that more intriguing.

I think this game lasted exactly half as long as last year's game No. 163.

Hey, big congrats to all the White Sox fans here on the board(see post #27, BTW).

Good year Twins, good year. Sorry for your dissapointment, Twins guys from here.

Two teams I kinda like, actually. Damn shame somebody had to come up short.

Lots of teams to like in the hunt this year... Rays, Twins, White Sox (for me, the Griffey thing is huge), Brew Crew. Angels are fine too... really, for the other teams, it's really just an annoying fan thing. I actually like a lot of players on the Cubs and BoSox... the fans can be a bit much, though.
