In minor league news, Wilmer Flores hit his 5th home run of the season in the first inning tonight.

In 70 PA, he has 5 HR, 4 doubles, 1 triple, 1 walk and 8 strikeouts, while hitting .386/.413/.686.

Guts - Are you kidding? The presence of the opposing teams' fans make these chats way better than the normal "Shut up, Dial!" "No, you shut up, Lassus" "You're pessimistic" "Your mom's pessimistic!" "Pascucci! creepy heavy breathing" "Willie sucks" "Shut up Cohen" that we usually have going on.

i keed. one of my best buddies is a mets fan ... i lost a bet with him in 2000 and had to wear a mets t-shirt to work. when i won the bet back in 2006 he had to send me 10 lbs. of boudin.

The problem with moving up Flores is that we are logjammed at SS in the low minors. Tejada is right where he belongs - figuring out high A. Havens will probably need to move up the system in the near future. I think it would be foolish to give up on Lagares so soon, and besides he's not ready for higher than SAL. So where do you put Flores?

Of course, if Flores continues hitting like this - one of the prospects above would have to be sacrificed.

i keed. one of my best buddies is a mets fan ... i lost a bet with him in 2000 and had to wear a mets t-shirt to work. when i won the bet back in 2006 he had to send me 10 lbs. of boudin.

Someone reminded me of that Bobby Jones start in 2000. I forgot how amazing of a performance that was.

The best was that outfield in '99. Rickey Henderson, Darryl Hamilton and Benny Agbayani/Melvin Mora. What a bunch.

Havens is most likely going to be moved to 2B next year. And the jury is still out whether Flores can play SS or not.

I watched that '99 playoffs with 2 gay roommates I in the Castro that I had turned into baseball fans. Good times. When Rogers decided to be pathetic, one of them turned off the TV and called him "a loser ##### who would be a terrible date to any Halloween party."

Oh, when I meant the terrible teams, I meant mid-90s, when Bobby Jones peaked. By 2000, Bobby Jones was a shadow of his old self. It was a real shame - many young Met fans would not realize what BJ meant to the franchise during the dark days.

Oh, the '99 team was great. My favorite team of all-time. You had the Henderson-Wendell sideshow, Valentine in disguise, The Best Infield Ever?, Piazza in his prime, Al Leiter and Rick Reed as innings eaters...man, that team rocked.

You know, I've never had the respectful admiration for Chipper a lot of Mets have ended up with. I just find him to be annoying. But, he has been better this year so far, yes. Personally, I think Wright will end up wit the better year overall.

Miles/Duncan at the top of the lineup is brutal. I hate Pujols hitting with no on and two outs.

David has more hits, more HR, more RBI, and a higher OPS so far. But 5 more errors. So I'm not so sure about A-Ram being a more deserving all-star.
