Let's go David!
   102. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 04, 2008 at 08:17 PM (#2843753)
Does anyone expect a hit from Wright? I don't.
   103. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: July 04, 2008 at 08:18 PM (#2843755)
Honestly, I do.
   104. Joshemy Posted: July 04, 2008 at 08:18 PM (#2843756)
David should have gotten rung up on 0-2.
   105. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 04, 2008 at 08:20 PM (#2843758)
Wright's going to walk.
   106. Lassus Posted: July 04, 2008 at 08:20 PM (#2843760)
Woohoo we score so convincingly.
   107. Joshemy Posted: July 04, 2008 at 08:20 PM (#2843761)
I'll take it!
   108. AJM Misses Brodeur Posted: July 04, 2008 at 08:20 PM (#2843762)
Walk!

Let's go Beltran!
   109. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: July 04, 2008 at 08:20 PM (#2843765)
Wright is GOD!
   110. Conor Posted: July 04, 2008 at 08:21 PM (#2843767)
That was a fine AB.
   111. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 04, 2008 at 08:22 PM (#2843769)
Beltran is 4 for his last 30.
   112. Conor Posted: July 04, 2008 at 08:22 PM (#2843770)
242/264/374.

Mets with the bases loaded.
   113. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: July 04, 2008 at 08:22 PM (#2843771)
Very Jeteresque. The lame strike zone. The battling back from down in the count. Fouling off pitches.
   114. Conor Posted: July 04, 2008 at 08:23 PM (#2843772)
I thought the 0-2 pitch was a ball. Could be wrong.
   115. Raskolnikov Posted: July 04, 2008 at 08:26 PM (#2843774)
Argh, Beltran. What a letdown.
   116. Lassus Posted: July 04, 2008 at 08:26 PM (#2843775)
Blech.
   117. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: July 04, 2008 at 08:27 PM (#2843776)
Chad Durbin has a 281 ERA+.
   118. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 04, 2008 at 08:29 PM (#2843780)
Dang. Johan threw 42 pitches in the first 4 innings.
   119. Raskolnikov Posted: July 04, 2008 at 08:32 PM (#2843782)
Johan is rolling along. A couple more runs should finish this.

Anyone mention that the Mets are trying Dan Murphy at 2B. That's surprisingly intelligent of the organization. Then again, I thought the Pascucci signing was brilliant and they've pretty much wasted that move.
   120. Joshemy Posted: July 04, 2008 at 08:42 PM (#2843793)
Endy has that.
   121. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 04, 2008 at 08:44 PM (#2843798)
Uh-oh.
   122. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 04, 2008 at 08:45 PM (#2843799)
Be careful, Johan. You should handle Howard but if you make a mistake, you'll be down 3-2.
   123. Raskolnikov Posted: July 04, 2008 at 08:45 PM (#2843800)
Damn.
   124. Lassus Posted: July 04, 2008 at 08:45 PM (#2843801)
ohhhhhh crap

Johann's gonna be pissed if we lose this one 3-2.
   125. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 04, 2008 at 08:46 PM (#2843802)
Ugh.
   126. Raskolnikov Posted: July 04, 2008 at 08:46 PM (#2843805)
BLEEP.
   127. Joshemy Posted: July 04, 2008 at 08:46 PM (#2843806)
Damnit.
   128. AJM Misses Brodeur Posted: July 04, 2008 at 08:47 PM (#2843807)
####.
   129. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 04, 2008 at 08:48 PM (#2843808)
Santana has been far more hittable than I ever thought he'd be.
   130. Joshemy Posted: July 04, 2008 at 08:51 PM (#2843813)
Whew.
   131. Raskolnikov Posted: July 04, 2008 at 08:51 PM (#2843814)
That inning sucked.
   132. Metman died today. Or yesterday maybe, Posted: July 04, 2008 at 08:52 PM (#2843817)
Santana has been far more hittable than I ever thought he'd be

Word. He has 3 Ks tonight; 2 of which are against the pitcher. He doesn't get nearly as many swings and misses as you would expect
   133. Joshemy Posted: July 04, 2008 at 08:57 PM (#2843821)
Chad Durbin has some wicked movement.
   134. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:03 PM (#2843830)
Santana's was nasty in that inning.
   135. Joshemy Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:03 PM (#2843831)
That was a nice bounceback.
   136. Joshemy Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:08 PM (#2843835)
Endy Magic tripped Rollins.
   137. Conor Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:08 PM (#2843836)
Why can't we score runs for this guy?
   138. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:09 PM (#2843837)
I'd like to see Chavez run here.
   139. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:10 PM (#2843839)
Come on Beltran, get a hit already.
   140. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:14 PM (#2843843)
Just dork one in there Carlos.
   141. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:14 PM (#2843844)
Delgado already has the sombrero. Can he make it golden?
   142. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:15 PM (#2843846)
This has all the makings of a really painful loss.
   143. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:16 PM (#2843852)
FAILLLLLLLLLLLLLLL.
   144. Joshemy Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:17 PM (#2843853)
Ugh.
   145. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:19 PM (#2843859)
Johan is going to give it up here.
   146. AJM Misses Brodeur Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:20 PM (#2843861)
This has all the makings of a really painful loss.

Like pretty much every game.
   147. AJM Misses Brodeur Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:22 PM (#2843862)
Come on, score you losers!
   148. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:22 PM (#2843864)
Well, that was relatively painless. I'd like to see Church hit for Aguila here.
   149. Conor Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:25 PM (#2843870)
Terrible idea to hit Church for Castro. Am I missing something?
   150. Conor Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:26 PM (#2843871)
I feel like this game could go 15 innings and we might not score again.
   151. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:26 PM (#2843872)
If the Mets go 1-2-3, I keep Johan in to face Howard.
   152. Joshemy Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:26 PM (#2843873)
Why would you hit for Castro?!?
   153. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:26 PM (#2843874)
I appreciate looking for a cookie first pitch...

BUT WORK THE ####### COUNT!
   154. Conor Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:27 PM (#2843877)
Oh right, we had to get Marlon an AB here. Of course.
   155. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:27 PM (#2843878)
If you are going to PH Marlon, you might as well keep Santana in the game.

Brilliant!
   156. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:28 PM (#2843879)
Wow, that was quite pitiful.

Johan should stay in to face Howard.
   157. Lassus Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:28 PM (#2843880)
Marlon is D-U-N done. Please go the way of Trot Nixon, Marlon.
   158. AJM Misses Brodeur Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:28 PM (#2843881)
My head hurts after that inning.
   159. Conor Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:28 PM (#2843882)
I still can't believe we lost Castro. He can hit. So we could get Marlon an AB? Seriously?
   160. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:29 PM (#2843883)
Marlon PH for Castro, which is stupid because Castro is much more likely to hit a homer there.
   161. Joshemy Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:29 PM (#2843885)
That was awful.

I also leave Johan in to pitch the ninth.
   162. Conor Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:29 PM (#2843887)
I would have kept Johan in to face Howard, at the very least.

I see I am not the only one who thinks this.
   163. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:29 PM (#2843889)
Seriously?

Mets fans need a macro for this.
   164. Conor Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:30 PM (#2843890)
Hey, Duaner is the only reliever we have who is allowed to win a game, so thats the ticket.
   165. Metman died today. Or yesterday maybe, Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:30 PM (#2843891)
This game doesnt make it to the 10th
   166. Lassus Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:30 PM (#2843892)
95 pitches? After 95 pitches he's out? Really? Lame.
   167. Joshemy Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:30 PM (#2843893)
Sanchez to face Howard. Oh boy.
   168. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:30 PM (#2843894)
I disagree with Sanchez here. At least bring in SS for Schoeneweis.
   169. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:30 PM (#2843895)
I'm having flashbacks to Mota.
   170. Conor Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:31 PM (#2843898)
Yeah, Manuel has had a very poor 9th inning here. Bad job by him.
   171. AJM Misses Brodeur Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:31 PM (#2843899)
Sanchez against Howard. Great.
   172. Lassus Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:31 PM (#2843900)
And now we have the pitcher who's been out because he got hit by a pitch in his knee making his "comeback" here?

SERIOUSLY?
   173. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:32 PM (#2843901)
The difference being Dirty doesn't suck!
   174. AJM Misses Brodeur Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:33 PM (#2843902)
K!
   175. Conor Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:33 PM (#2843903)
ok good start.
   176. Joshemy Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:33 PM (#2843904)
Yay Dirty.
   177. Lassus Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:33 PM (#2843905)
I'm surprised Howard is able to survive in as tough a town as Philly with all these K's.
   178. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:33 PM (#2843906)
Metkiller up.
   179. Conor Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:35 PM (#2843908)
Howard is a mass media puzzle, he has all the Ks and the low BA they hate, but he has the most RBI in the league.
   180. AJM Misses Brodeur Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:35 PM (#2843909)
KK!
   181. Lassus Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:35 PM (#2843910)
Nice job, Duaner.
   182. Conor Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:36 PM (#2843912)
uh oh.
   183. Lassus Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:36 PM (#2843913)
whoops
   184. AJM Misses Brodeur Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:36 PM (#2843914)
Uh oh.
   185. Joshemy Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:37 PM (#2843916)
I pitch to Victorino.
   186. Lassus Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:37 PM (#2843918)
Howie Rose is on record as against pitching to Victorino.
   187. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:38 PM (#2843919)
This isn't going to end well.
   188. Lassus Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:39 PM (#2843921)
Howie - 1
Joshemy - 0
   189. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:41 PM (#2843922)
6th straight loss with Santana on the mound.

If the Mets loss this series, they are done.
   190. Joshemy Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:41 PM (#2843923)
Bah.
   191. AJM Misses Brodeur Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:41 PM (#2843925)
############.
   192. Conor Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:42 PM (#2843926)
Can they score any runs for this guy?

Absurd.

We lost this game in the 5th; Beltran swung at Ball four with the bases loaded. Only the Mets score bases loaded runs with fielders choices and walks.
   193. Joshemy Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:42 PM (#2843930)
Also, Billy Wagner once again doesn't see the mound in a tie game.
   194. Conor Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:42 PM (#2843931)
The Mets will probably win 2 of the next 3 and split the series just because thats how the season has gone; perfectly mediocre.
   195. Chris Dial Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:43 PM (#2843933)
I also leave Johan in to pitch the ninth.
We ###### the dog on that decision.
   196. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:43 PM (#2843934)
I don't mind using Sanchez in that situation. He has been really good lately.
   197. Conor Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:44 PM (#2843935)
Santana is 7-7 with a 2.81 ERA.
   198. Conor Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:45 PM (#2843937)
Really, especially since you didn't even bring Wagner in to pitch the 9th. The more I think about it, the more I am convinced Manuel did a terrible job through that entire 9th inning.

Of course if we can find an XBH with the bases loaded it might not matter, but still.
   199. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:46 PM (#2843939)
The Mets only got one hit off the Phillies bullpen. They held the Mets scoreless for 4.1 IP.

The Mets just can't seem to get hot.
   200. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:47 PM (#2843940)
Johan has a 2.96 ERA. Your point still stands.
