Where's Sam, we need some optimism around here.
   102. AJM Misses Brodeur Posted: July 05, 2008 at 08:43 PM (#2844931)
Excellent, Maine's hurt.
   103. Raskolnikov Posted: July 05, 2008 at 08:43 PM (#2844932)
Aw Geez. What now?!
   104. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 05, 2008 at 08:44 PM (#2844933)
Maine is grabbing his non-throwing arm.
   105. Joshemy Posted: July 05, 2008 at 08:44 PM (#2844934)
This is odd.
   106. AJM Misses Brodeur Posted: July 05, 2008 at 08:44 PM (#2844935)
At least it's his non-throwing arm.
   107. Raskolnikov Posted: July 05, 2008 at 08:45 PM (#2844937)
Take him out. Unbelievable. I can't believe how lousy our karma is.
   108. Lassus Posted: July 05, 2008 at 08:45 PM (#2844938)
WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?

Oh my god.

I couldn't even get one more strike out of him for Quality Start on my fantasy team.

What the ############# ####### ######## ####### ####### thing do we have to deal with now?
   109. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 05, 2008 at 08:46 PM (#2844941)
I think it is just a cramp. He wants to stay in the game. I'd want SS to pitch to Howard.
   110. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 08:46 PM (#2844942)
I think he will be ok. But this sucks.

And Heilman? It's the 6th inning; how many more times are you going through Utley and Howard where you can't use Show or Feliciano?
   111. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: July 05, 2008 at 08:47 PM (#2844943)
OPTIMISM: HIS NON-PITCHING ARM
   112. Lassus Posted: July 05, 2008 at 08:47 PM (#2844944)
I can't believe how lousy our karma is.

Especially after the Mets pulled that cat out of that tree and got up for that lady on the subway.
   113. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 08:49 PM (#2844946)
I think Gary said Moyer has gone at least 6 innings in every one of his 15 career starts against us. We couldn't knock him out early once?
   114. Raskolnikov Posted: July 05, 2008 at 08:50 PM (#2844947)
That was quick. Maine better be okay.
   115. Lassus Posted: July 05, 2008 at 08:51 PM (#2844949)
Honestly QS's are a hotly contested stat in our league. That hurts me bad, one more freaking pitch.
   116. Raskolnikov Posted: July 05, 2008 at 08:54 PM (#2844950)
Aguila. I like him more than Tatis already.
   117. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 08:54 PM (#2844952)
So he's pulling Heilman. So he only faced one batter, and he didn't want to use one of our three lefties in the pen? Am i nitpicking?
   118. Raskolnikov Posted: July 05, 2008 at 08:55 PM (#2844953)
We're going to burn Heilman on one pitch? That seals it - this game is going 15 innings tonight.
   119. Lassus Posted: July 05, 2008 at 08:55 PM (#2844954)
I don't get this. No bunt?
   120. Lassus Posted: July 05, 2008 at 08:55 PM (#2844955)
116 - LOL Rask
   121. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 05, 2008 at 08:55 PM (#2844956)
We couldn't knock him out early once?

What position do you play?

Argenis Reyes? Seriously?
   122. AJM Misses Brodeur Posted: July 05, 2008 at 08:56 PM (#2844957)
Why can't we have a manager who isn't a complete idiot? Is that too much to ask?
   123. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 05, 2008 at 08:57 PM (#2844958)
This is horrible. You take out Heilman after one pitch? Why not bunt with Heilman?
   124. Joshemy Posted: July 05, 2008 at 08:57 PM (#2844959)
Yeah, I would have bunted and left Heilman in.
   125. Lassus Posted: July 05, 2008 at 08:57 PM (#2844962)
YAY REYES!

RUN RUN RUN

Argh crap Aguila run faster!
   126. AJM Misses Brodeur Posted: July 05, 2008 at 08:58 PM (#2844963)
this game is going 15 innings tonight.

Beltran will win it with a homer.
   127. Raskolnikov Posted: July 05, 2008 at 08:58 PM (#2844964)
Getting back to the question of 2B. I think the answer is obvious.

Get down, go Aguila.
Damn, Victorino is a hell of a defender.
   128. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 05, 2008 at 08:58 PM (#2844965)
Thank god they didn't SF with Reyes.
   129. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 08:58 PM (#2844968)
I imagine Heilman is a bad bunter. Of course, the alternative is Argenis Reyes so what could it hurt?

Why not use one of your lefties to try and get Howard and then maybe you can use Heilman to start the 7th?
   130. Raskolnikov Posted: July 05, 2008 at 08:59 PM (#2844970)
You know - if AReyes had bunted, we would have the lead now.
   131. Raskolnikov Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:00 PM (#2844971)
Church hits hard shots.
   132. Raskolnikov Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:01 PM (#2844972)
Nice lean-in, Ryan!
   133. AJM Misses Brodeur Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:01 PM (#2844973)
Bases loaded. This inning is over.
   134. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:01 PM (#2844974)
Bases loaded, we have no chance.
   135. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:01 PM (#2844975)
Here comes a huge sack of FAIL. Madson for Wright.
   136. Joshemy Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:01 PM (#2844976)
I'll take that.

Let's go David!
   137. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:01 PM (#2844977)
Dang. The bases are loaded. Mets are screwed.
   138. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:02 PM (#2844978)
dammit. the coke is in the mail.
   139. Raskolnikov Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:02 PM (#2844979)
It's DWright. What more can we ask for?
   140. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:02 PM (#2844980)
Conor, forgot about it. I'll just send one to AJM and everything will be even.
   141. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:03 PM (#2844981)
The Jello is jiggling.
   142. Raskolnikov Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:03 PM (#2844982)
Anyway, about 2B. We sign Ellis and we don't have to deal with all the mix-matching. Of course, Omar would never go for it.
   143. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:05 PM (#2844984)
He missed it. ####.
   144. Lassus Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:06 PM (#2844985)
You know - if AReyes had bunted, we would have the lead now.

I'm sorry to take issue with this, but with a runner on 2nd, Reyes wouldn't have gotten the same pitches, so we have no idea if this is the case.

I'd been high on Ellis too, but he has really regressed badly to "suck" lately.

Nice job, David.
   145. Raskolnikov Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:06 PM (#2844986)
FRAK!
   146. AJM Misses Brodeur Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:06 PM (#2844987)
Shocking.
   147. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:06 PM (#2844988)
Go #### yourself, David.
   148. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:07 PM (#2844989)
It's getting ridiculous.
   149. Joshemy Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:07 PM (#2844990)
Even David is incapable with them loaded.
   150. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:08 PM (#2844991)
The Phillies aren't that much better than the Mets. It's just that the Mets never do anything in the clutch and the Phils do. It makes all the difference in the world.
   151. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:10 PM (#2844992)
They play close games all the time. The Phillies just make it happen and the Mets don't.
   152. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:10 PM (#2844993)
This has all the markings of a devasting loss.
   153. PatrickInTheWoods, Apostate Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:10 PM (#2844994)
So, Chollie's back to pinch running for Burrell an inning too early again.
   154. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:11 PM (#2844995)
At this point, I want the Phillies to sweep. It'll keep that ##### Minaya from ####### our farm system up the ass for Xavier Nady and save me the trouble of giving a damn.
   155. Lassus Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:11 PM (#2844996)
I hate to speak poorly of our friends in Philadelphia, but how they are not simply embarrassed by the specs of this stadium is astounding.
   156. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:11 PM (#2844997)
Is there any doubt that the Phils are going to get a hit here?
   157. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:11 PM (#2844998)
I'd walk Jenkins.
   158. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:12 PM (#2844999)
Someone stole my stats! SNY stole my damn graphic.
   159. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:12 PM (#2845001)
Need the double play ball here. We aren't going to have the platoon advantage on the next AB.
   160. Lassus Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:13 PM (#2845002)
Wow - the radio guys thought that was a HR.
   161. PatrickInTheWoods, Apostate Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:13 PM (#2845003)
Lassus, Bill Giles screwed up everything he was ever in charge of. Thus the dimensions and location of that park.
   162. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:13 PM (#2845004)
So what do you do? I think I bring Pedro in.
   163. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:13 PM (#2845005)
Do not allow Smith to face Dobbs.
   164. PatrickInTheWoods, Apostate Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:13 PM (#2845006)
Guess they shouldn't have moved that fence back already. Harry thought that was out too.
   165. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:15 PM (#2845007)
Kalas thought it was gone too.
   166. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:15 PM (#2845008)
This is where the Phillies come through and the Mets don't.
   167. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:18 PM (#2845012)
Castro is getting beat up tonight.
   168. Lassus Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:19 PM (#2845014)
Can't anyone here play this game?
   169. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:19 PM (#2845015)
Was there ever a doubt?
   170. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:19 PM (#2845016)
Of course.
   171. Joshemy Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:20 PM (#2845018)
Thank god we got Werth going into second there.
   172. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:21 PM (#2845020)
The Phils have had how many AB with RISP today? 3? And two hits.

How many have the Mets had?

Beltran is sucking pretty hard now.
   173. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:24 PM (#2845023)
I really can't believe it; every game we play Philly its like the exact same game.
   174. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:25 PM (#2845024)
Rollins doesn't have a lot of range, does he? He isn't even getting close to some balls up the middle.
   175. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:26 PM (#2845026)
Well, that was unexpected.
   176. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:26 PM (#2845027)
Victorino is impressive in center though.
   177. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:26 PM (#2845028)
Castro is definitely going to GIDP.
   178. AJM Misses Brodeur Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:26 PM (#2845029)
They aren't going to score. Why do they have to tease me?
   179. Lassus Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:26 PM (#2845030)
Castro, if you hit into a double play, I'm going to start referring to you as "Rapist Ramon" again.
   180. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:26 PM (#2845031)
That one was probably easy to cut off, but he cut off a ball in the last inning and in general I am impressed with his play.

Do we pinch hit here for Castro? If we do, make it Endy. Please not Marlon.
   181. Joshemy Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:27 PM (#2845032)
Delgado!

Come on Bighead!
   182. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:27 PM (#2845033)
Endy should hit.
   183. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:27 PM (#2845034)
Nah, they'll come through here. If only to prolong the torture.
   184. Joshemy Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:28 PM (#2845035)
I keep Castro in to hit.
   185. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:28 PM (#2845036)
Endy has a better chance than anyone on the bench to beat out a possible double play ball. And that's seriously the best I am hoping for right here.
   186. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:28 PM (#2845038)
The only good thing about this season is that the Braves are sucking just as badly.
   187. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:29 PM (#2845039)
Oh God Marlon.
   188. Lassus Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:29 PM (#2845040)
Anderson for Castro?

We deserve to lose.
   189. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:29 PM (#2845041)
Marlon? Expletive deleted.
   190. Joshemy Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:29 PM (#2845042)
####! If I pinch hit, I would have used Endy.
   191. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:30 PM (#2845043)
We certainly do. But not now. Not until Wagner gives it up.
   192. AJM Misses Brodeur Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:31 PM (#2845044)
That was nice.
   193. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:31 PM (#2845045)
Only way we can score. That's what, 6 runs in this series and one run scoring hit?
   194. Lassus Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:31 PM (#2845046)
BWAH HAHHAHHAHHHAHHHA Hhahhahhh ahhh ha

Oh that is ####### hilarious.
   195. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:31 PM (#2845047)
LOL. The baseball gods must have a perverse sense of humor.
   196. PatrickInTheWoods, Apostate Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:31 PM (#2845048)
Oh well that's what you get when you to Tom Gordon.
   197. Joshemy Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:31 PM (#2845049)
MARLON MAGIC!

Or something like that.
   198. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:31 PM (#2845050)
Gordon saves Marlon.
   199. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:32 PM (#2845051)
That's the kind of thing that has been happening to the Mets in these games.

Keith, the Mets don't have a very strong bench.
   200. Joshemy Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:32 PM (#2845052)
How about a little Endy Magic?
