Endy better be hitting for Aguila.
   202. Lassus Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:33 PM (#2845056)
Well, we did get Endy up after all.
   203. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:33 PM (#2845059)
So Werth getting thrown out at second is looking a little bigger now, huh?
   204. PatrickInTheWoods, Apostate Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:34 PM (#2845060)
Can we go to someone else now please.
   205. Crimes and Metsdemeanors Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:34 PM (#2845061)
Gift call on 3-0.
   206. Lassus Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:35 PM (#2845062)
FAIL

Who's next?

Schneider?

Whoopee!
   207. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:35 PM (#2845064)
How about a run scoring hit here?
   208. Crimes and Metsdemeanors Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:35 PM (#2845065)
Paperboy! Deliver me a dream!
   209. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:35 PM (#2845066)
I don't like this strike zone today.
   210. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:36 PM (#2845067)
Schneider? I am praying for another WP.
   211. Lassus Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:36 PM (#2845068)
-faints-
   212. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:36 PM (#2845069)

   213. Crimes and Metsdemeanors Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:36 PM (#2845070)
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!!111
   214. Joshemy Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:36 PM (#2845071)
SCHNEIDER!
   215. PatrickInTheWoods, Apostate Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:36 PM (#2845072)
Gordon sucks balls.
   216. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:36 PM (#2845073)
I think that is as far as he can hit the ball.
   217. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:37 PM (#2845074)
Do you guys feel the Mets are going to win? I don't. It's irrational, I know.
   218. AJM Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:37 PM (#2845075)
An XBH by the Paperboy!?
   219. PatrickInTheWoods, Apostate Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:38 PM (#2845076)
Schneider is one of those guys who kills the Phils, Mets fans. That was expected.
   220. Lassus Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:41 PM (#2845077)
Ryan Church out? Weird.
   221. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:41 PM (#2845078)
Did Manuel just take out Church? Church must not be feeling well. He has said he appreciates the rest.
   222. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:42 PM (#2845079)
What happened there? Church is out? Why?
   223. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:43 PM (#2845080)
I love it when Kelly pulls a Kelly Leak.
   224. PatrickInTheWoods, Apostate Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:43 PM (#2845081)
I don't know whether to be pissed off more at Gordon or Chollie for using him. Oh well, that win streak was fun while it lasted.
   225. Lassus Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:43 PM (#2845082)
Howie Rose bewildered by Church being out. The TV guys talk about it at all?
   226. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:43 PM (#2845083)
Damn. Is it worth it to bring Show in here?
   227. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:43 PM (#2845084)
Church has said his energy level isn't up yet, guys.
   228. Joshemy Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:43 PM (#2845085)
I go to Wagner here.
   229. Lassus Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:44 PM (#2845086)
Thank you, Carlos.
   230. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:44 PM (#2845087)
Nice play Carlos!
   231. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:44 PM (#2845088)
Who is hitting 5th for Philly? Do you think about walking Howard? It's the pitcher spot, right?
   232. Crimes and Metsdemeanors Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:45 PM (#2845089)
Trying to throw this game away, eh Dirty? I'll ####### cut you.
   233. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:45 PM (#2845090)
Well there you go. Duaner, make this work.
   234. Joshemy Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:45 PM (#2845092)
This is a very good IBB.
   235. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:46 PM (#2845095)
Do you guys agree with this? Putting the tying run on base? I do. I am also sure that Ruiz is going deep.
   236. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:46 PM (#2845097)
Ugh.
   237. Joshemy Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:47 PM (#2845098)
Woo!
   238. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:47 PM (#2845099)
Nicley done.
   239. Lassus Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:47 PM (#2845101)
We just might get out of this one, boys.
   240. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:47 PM (#2845102)
I think you either walk Howard or bring in Wagner.
   241. AJM Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:47 PM (#2845103)
Can we get about 5 insurance runs now?
   242. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:48 PM (#2845104)
Lassus you jinx.
   243. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:48 PM (#2845105)
So it's Feliz, Jenkins (Taguchi?), and Coste, right?
   244. Lassus Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:50 PM (#2845107)
Radio guys say that Ryan Church left with dizziness.

Ugh
   245. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:50 PM (#2845108)
Great, Church had dizziness.
   246. Joshemy Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:50 PM (#2845109)
TV says that Ryan Church the game because of dizzyness.

Also, on a small note, I let a pitcher hit here.
   247. Crimes and Metsdemeanors Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:50 PM (#2845110)
Oh, Tatis. You suck so badly.
   248. Lassus Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:51 PM (#2845111)
I spit at superstition, Conor.

Maine's still working on his perfect game, isn't he?
   249. AJM Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:51 PM (#2845113)
Church out with dizziness.
   250. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:51 PM (#2845114)
Haha, announcers mention Tatis hitting two GS off Park in the same inning every series.
   251. Joshemy Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:51 PM (#2845115)
That was terribly unexpected.
   252. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:52 PM (#2845116)
Man, Tatis swings at everything.
   253. Crimes and Metsdemeanors Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:52 PM (#2845117)
HAHAHAHA! Oh, mercy.
   254. Lassus Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:52 PM (#2845118)
When I heard that on the radio a hit was going to the wall, I actually assumed for a second that the Phillies were still up.
   255. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:53 PM (#2845119)
Wow - thats the last person you'd expect to hit a double - even though he tried to #### it up
   256. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:53 PM (#2845120)
Feliz is a good defensive player.

Odds Beltran gets this run in?
   257. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:54 PM (#2845121)
Feliz really plays a nice 3B.
   258. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:54 PM (#2845123)
Ha well he tried not to.
   259. Lassus Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:54 PM (#2845124)
Is that an error? Whheeeeee
   260. Joshemy Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:54 PM (#2845125)
We score in laughable ways.
   261. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:55 PM (#2845126)
Seanez messes up.
   262. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:55 PM (#2845127)
I think Feliz is a guy stat heads are too hard on. He is a really good glove and he can pop 20 homers a year. If you can hit him 7th in your order, he's a pretty decent player.
   263. AJM Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:55 PM (#2845129)
Yay, a run.
   264. Crimes and Metsdemeanors Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:56 PM (#2845130)
Wagner blows lead, hits child with slider. Film at eleven!
   265. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:57 PM (#2845131)
That really sucks about Church. This thing is going to follow him around all year, isn't it?
   266. AJM Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:57 PM (#2845133)
Bases loaded, that's the end of that.
   267. Joshemy Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:58 PM (#2845134)
Bases loaded. Inning over.
   268. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: July 05, 2008 at 09:58 PM (#2845135)
I think Feliz is a guy stat heads are too hard on. He is a really good glove and he can pop 20 homers a year. If you can hit him 7th in your order, he's a pretty decent player.

I agree. Another guy who I think is underrated is Carlos Lee. Sure he doesn't get on base at a great clip and his defense is bad but he plays everyday and slugs .500-.550. How much is not ever having to see Tatis in the starting lineup?
   269. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: July 05, 2008 at 10:00 PM (#2845137)
The Mets are only going to be one game back of the Marlins for second. Baby steps.
   270. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 10:00 PM (#2845138)
Agreed.

Durability is a huge thing; in the starting rotation especially but also in the lineup. Bench players generally suck. Just not having to play them is a good thing.

Of course, thats why I wanted to bring Zito in.
   271. Lassus Posted: July 05, 2008 at 10:01 PM (#2845141)
Ground out, no hits!

8 runs so far.
   272. Joshemy Posted: July 05, 2008 at 10:01 PM (#2845142)
Another FC bases loaded run!
   273. AJM Posted: July 05, 2008 at 10:01 PM (#2845143)
Best we could've hoped for.
   274. Crimes and Metsdemeanors Posted: July 05, 2008 at 10:01 PM (#2845144)
Marlon hit it so feebly, it got us a run. YAY!
   275. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: July 05, 2008 at 10:01 PM (#2845145)
It is unpossible for the Mets to get a hit with the bases loaded.
   276. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 10:02 PM (#2845146)
The SNY announcers talk about this park like it is old school Coors Field. It's a good hitters park but the way they talk about it is crazy.
   277. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 10:03 PM (#2845148)
Endy is really starting to hit.
   278. Crimes and Metsdemeanors Posted: July 05, 2008 at 10:03 PM (#2845150)
A hit! HUZZAH!
   279. Lassus Posted: July 05, 2008 at 10:03 PM (#2845151)
I feel like I've taken a good batch of acid.

What the hell is happening here? I can't understand what I'm seeing.
   280. Joshemy Posted: July 05, 2008 at 10:03 PM (#2845152)
Endy!
   281. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: July 05, 2008 at 10:04 PM (#2845153)
The final score of this game isn't going to reflect its competitiveness.
   282. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 10:05 PM (#2845155)
Russlan, you are talking like the Phillies will end this game with four runs.
   283. Lassus Posted: July 05, 2008 at 10:06 PM (#2845158)
Maybe we'll lose this after the rain delay.
   284. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 10:06 PM (#2845159)
You gotta be ####### kidding me.
   285. AJM Posted: July 05, 2008 at 10:06 PM (#2845160)
Rain delay? WTF?
   286. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: July 05, 2008 at 10:06 PM (#2845161)
Are you kdding me?
   287. Joshemy Posted: July 05, 2008 at 10:07 PM (#2845162)
Really?
   288. Conor Posted: July 05, 2008 at 10:08 PM (#2845163)
Ok guys, you can take it from here.

My prediction, assuming we win:

Lots of quotes in the paper tomorrow; finally we turned it around, this is the kind of game we usually lose to the Phillies, etc...

And Perez gets lit up tomorrow.
   289. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: July 05, 2008 at 10:08 PM (#2845164)
Who cares? If they call it, the Mets win. If they play it, they have a 5-run lead.

Ollie needs to be Dr. Jekyll tomorrow. I love Pedro but I have no confidence in him for Monday. They need to win tomorrow.
   290. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: July 05, 2008 at 10:08 PM (#2845165)
The Mets aren't allowed to get more than two games over .500.
   291. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: July 05, 2008 at 10:09 PM (#2845166)
Or 2 games under .500.
   292. Lassus Posted: July 05, 2008 at 10:13 PM (#2845168)
What the hell did they eat in Philly today, a big bowl of stupid?
   293. Crimes and Metsdemeanors Posted: July 05, 2008 at 10:14 PM (#2845169)
I don't think its dietary. I think its genetic.
   294. Joshemy Posted: July 05, 2008 at 10:14 PM (#2845170)
Well that was fun.
   295. Crimes and Metsdemeanors Posted: July 05, 2008 at 10:15 PM (#2845173)
They're just trying to supply Wagner with an excuse when he inevitably spits the bit.
   296. Crimes and Metsdemeanors Posted: July 05, 2008 at 10:19 PM (#2845177)
Ryan Church left Saturday's game in the eighth inning with dizziness.

Uh oh. Church returned a week ago after missing 3 1/2 weeks following his second concussion of the year. If he's still having those symptoms, then he might end up shut down for the season at some point.

Rotoworld
   297. Lassus Posted: July 05, 2008 at 10:20 PM (#2845179)
That was hilarious - Howie Rose:

"They say it was a 14-minute rain delay. Well, mazeltov, I hope you guys are happy."

I love baseball.
   298. Raskolnikov Posted: July 05, 2008 at 10:22 PM (#2845180)
Hopefully, it's just mild dizziness. Church looked pretty good from the camera before.
   299. Raskolnikov Posted: July 05, 2008 at 10:25 PM (#2845184)
I like Armas. He throws strikes.
   300. Joshemy Posted: July 05, 2008 at 10:26 PM (#2845185)
