I <3 Endy! Shawn Green couldn't have caught up that on a bounce.
   102. Alan S Posted: July 06, 2008 at 03:45 PM (#2845726)
Very nice outing by Ollie, though I don't think it's quite as good as his stat line so far. Still very encouraging. Certainly the best back-to-back starts by Perez this year.
   103. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: July 06, 2008 at 03:46 PM (#2845729)
I predict runs here.
   104. Crimes and Metsdemeanors Posted: July 06, 2008 at 03:47 PM (#2845730)
Nadal with two break points.
   105. Alan S Posted: July 06, 2008 at 03:47 PM (#2845735)
Deuce.
   106. Crimes and Metsdemeanors Posted: July 06, 2008 at 03:48 PM (#2845736)
Just like the Mets with RISP, he fails.
   107. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: July 06, 2008 at 03:48 PM (#2845737)
Steal, Beltran.
   108. Conor Posted: July 06, 2008 at 03:49 PM (#2845738)
This is unbelievable tennis.
   109. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: July 06, 2008 at 03:51 PM (#2845744)
Delgado missing a lot of hittable pitches.
   110. Crimes and Metsdemeanors Posted: July 06, 2008 at 03:51 PM (#2845746)
No tiebreaks in the fifth set at Wimbledon. This could go on for a while.
   111. Crimes and Metsdemeanors Posted: July 06, 2008 at 03:53 PM (#2845751)
You think Delgado is bad defensively. OOF.
   112. Lassus Posted: July 06, 2008 at 03:53 PM (#2845752)
DAMN Russlan, I thought that was funny, at least. ;-)
   113. Crimes and Metsdemeanors Posted: July 06, 2008 at 03:54 PM (#2845753)
This is a ####### vulgar farce.
   114. Conor Posted: July 06, 2008 at 03:54 PM (#2845754)
And unbelievable offensive ineptitude.
   115. Alan S Posted: July 06, 2008 at 03:55 PM (#2845755)
I consider the endless battle to see who breaks the other first essentially the same thing as a tiebreaker.
   116. Crimes and Metsdemeanors Posted: July 06, 2008 at 03:56 PM (#2845758)
Fed nets a volley. Deuce.
   117. Alan S Posted: July 06, 2008 at 03:57 PM (#2845760)
It amazes me how Federer can spend 3 or 4 returns perfectly setting Nadal up for an easy drop shot to win and then hit the net. That said, I think both of these people are probably better tennis players than I.
   118. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: July 06, 2008 at 03:57 PM (#2845761)
Get Victorino, Perez.
   119. Crimes and Metsdemeanors Posted: July 06, 2008 at 03:59 PM (#2845765)
JO-SE REYES! SMELL THE GLOVE!
   120. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: July 06, 2008 at 03:59 PM (#2845767)
That's a play Reyes hasn't been making this year.
   121. Conor Posted: July 06, 2008 at 03:59 PM (#2845770)
That's the D we have been missing from Reyes.
   122. Lassus Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:01 PM (#2845774)
Isn't it more like Wright that it's the easy plays he's been having trouble with? I cant really say as I'm listening on the radio at the moment, of course.
   123. Crimes and Metsdemeanors Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:02 PM (#2845779)
Ollie is dealing. Painting the corners.

*exhales*

OLLIE!
   124. Mets Fan Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:03 PM (#2845781)
What's with the Mets' hats today? Are those new? I haven't noticed a navy hat before. I like it.
   125. Crimes and Metsdemeanors Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:03 PM (#2845782)
Bad break for Rafa. Could be a crucial point.
   126. Alan S Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:04 PM (#2845783)
That was an absurd volley.
   127. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:04 PM (#2845784)
That was classic. In an exasperated voice, Kalas just asked how does this guy have a 5.00 ERA. He is perplexed by Perez and he hasn't even watched him much.

Good Ollie > Good Johan.
   128. Crimes and Metsdemeanors Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:04 PM (#2845786)
Holy Toledo!
   129. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:05 PM (#2845788)
What's with the Mets' hats today? Are those new? I haven't noticed a navy hat before. I like it.

It's a fourth of july thing.
   130. Lassus Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:06 PM (#2845793)
I'll take a rainout here, gladly.
   131. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:06 PM (#2845794)
Tatis has a .628 OPS. Seems like he has been much worse.
   132. Crimes and Metsdemeanors Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:06 PM (#2845796)
Two break points for Rafa!
   133. Alan S Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:06 PM (#2845797)

Good Ollie > Good Johan.

I don't agree.
   134. Crimes and Metsdemeanors Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:07 PM (#2845799)
Back to deuce.
   135. Crimes and Metsdemeanors Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:09 PM (#2845801)
Tatis, Paperboy, Aguila

Have we given up?
   136. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:09 PM (#2845802)
I would use Smith for Werth, Feliciano for Utley and Rollins, and Wagner for the rest of the way.
   137. Alan S Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:09 PM (#2845803)
Uh oh. Federer is in some trouble.
   138. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:09 PM (#2845805)
I hate Aguila.
   139. Crimes and Metsdemeanors Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:10 PM (#2845806)
I have to think it ends here.
   140. Crimes and Metsdemeanors Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:11 PM (#2845809)
Yeah, that ERA+ isn't a massive fluke.
   141. Alan S Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:13 PM (#2845812)
How does someone get so much spin on a tennis ball?
   142. Crimes and Metsdemeanors Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:13 PM (#2845813)
We're in the ####### gloaming here.
   143. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:14 PM (#2845816)
Aguila is useless, worse than Tatis.
   144. Crimes and Metsdemeanors Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:15 PM (#2845817)
Sick backhand return.
   145. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:15 PM (#2845818)
I don't like Sanchez here.
   146. Crimes and Metsdemeanors Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:16 PM (#2845820)
And so ends one of the best tennis matches i've ever seen.
   147. Alan S Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:16 PM (#2845821)
Not the way I was hoping it'd end, but that was some quality tennis.
   148. Lassus Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:17 PM (#2845823)
Who won?
   149. Lassus Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:17 PM (#2845824)
eeeeeeeek

Defense wins championships.
   150. Crimes and Metsdemeanors Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:18 PM (#2845825)
Could you be more nonchalant?
   151. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:22 PM (#2845830)
My internet connection went out. How bad was the Sanchez error?
   152. Conor Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:22 PM (#2845831)
So who does Jerry have for Burrell? Heilman?
   153. Conor Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:23 PM (#2845833)
Very bad.
   154. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:23 PM (#2845834)
DAMN! That tennis match took seven hours? I am tired just thinking about that.
   155. Chris Dial Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:24 PM (#2845835)
This has HBP written all over it.
   156. Conor Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:24 PM (#2845836)
So what is the protocol here on the rain delay? Could they not resume this game? That would be pretty amazing.
   157. Lassus Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:24 PM (#2845837)
bwah hhha aha ha ha ha rain delay.

You can all thank me later.

Time to walk the dog.
   158. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:24 PM (#2845838)
There seems to be a lot of rain everywhere this year.
   159. Crimes and Metsdemeanors Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:26 PM (#2845839)
This isn't a Roddick-El Aynaoui scenario. They had lots of rain.
   160. Alan S Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:28 PM (#2845842)
Clearly, this game needs to be called due to inclement weather. There can be no dispute over that.
   161. Hey, it's what Johan uses (Matt) Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:29 PM (#2845844)
Call the game!
   162. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:29 PM (#2845845)
Is Nadal the best player in the world now? He dominated Roger in the French and beat him at Wimbledon. Not bad.
   163. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:30 PM (#2845847)
I'd use the Show here by the way because he is more of a GB pitcher.
   164. Hey, it's what Johan uses (Matt) Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:34 PM (#2845853)
I'd use Wagner here because he hasn't pitched in eight weeks.
   165. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:36 PM (#2845860)
I am not comfortable with Wagner in the 8th. Irrational, I know.
   166. billyshears Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:43 PM (#2845877)
Is Nadal the best player in the world now? He dominated Roger in the French and beat him at Wimbledon. Not bad.

I think he is. Nadal has raised his game and Federer has slipped just a little bit.
   167. Conor Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:43 PM (#2845878)
Any hope this one gets washed out?
   168. Russlan roots for the the mediocre Mets Posted: July 06, 2008 at 04:44 PM (#2845881)
I don't think so. They have the whole night to play it.
   169. Conor Posted: July 06, 2008 at 05:03 PM (#2845901)
I think it may rain for a while.
   170. Conor Posted: July 06, 2008 at 06:08 PM (#2845993)
Not sure if anyone is still here; but can they suspend this game? It's either finish it today or it's called, right?
   171. Lassus Posted: July 06, 2008 at 06:24 PM (#2846016)
Yes. But as Russlan said, we kind of have all night. I would assume with only 1.1 important innings to play in a 1-0 game, the game isn't getting called before midnight UNLESS the forecast show no holes at all in the rain from now until dawn.
   172. Conor Posted: July 06, 2008 at 06:30 PM (#2846024)
Anybody heard anything? Radar looks like it might stop raining, but there is some rain behind it.

Tell you what; lets just call it a day. That work for everyone?
   173. Bob T Posted: July 06, 2008 at 06:59 PM (#2846059)
The game wouldn't be suspended unless they waited until after 1 am to restart it.
   174. Hey, it's what Johan uses (Matt) Posted: July 06, 2008 at 07:04 PM (#2846065)
I believe there is a 7:10 start.
   175. Hey, it's what Johan uses (Matt) Posted: July 06, 2008 at 07:07 PM (#2846069)
Wow, tbe field is in no condition to play.
   176. Conor Posted: July 06, 2008 at 07:10 PM (#2846074)
They playing?
   177. Hey, it's what Johan uses (Matt) Posted: July 06, 2008 at 07:11 PM (#2846076)
Starting now. Come on Pedro II.
   178. Mets Fan Posted: July 06, 2008 at 07:11 PM (#2846078)
Yup, game on.
   179. Conor Posted: July 06, 2008 at 07:12 PM (#2846079)
I feel like we just lost our best chance of winning.
   180. Hey, it's what Johan uses (Matt) Posted: July 06, 2008 at 07:13 PM (#2846081)
One more, Pedro. Come on.
   181. Raskolnikov Posted: July 06, 2008 at 07:13 PM (#2846082)
K! PEDRO II!
   182. Mets Fan Posted: July 06, 2008 at 07:13 PM (#2846083)
K!
   183. Hey, it's what Johan uses (Matt) Posted: July 06, 2008 at 07:13 PM (#2846084)
YEAH! #### YEAH!
   184. Alan S Posted: July 06, 2008 at 07:13 PM (#2846085)
Feliciano!
   185. Raskolnikov Posted: July 06, 2008 at 07:13 PM (#2846086)
One more bullet.
   186. Conor Posted: July 06, 2008 at 07:13 PM (#2846087)
Nice, I need to follow this online and MLB.com isn't cooperating.
   187. Hey, it's what Johan uses (Matt) Posted: July 06, 2008 at 07:14 PM (#2846089)
Haha, I love this. What a great three pitches by Feliciano.
   188. Raskolnikov Posted: July 06, 2008 at 07:15 PM (#2846092)
Heilman needs to come up huge here.
   189. Conor Posted: July 06, 2008 at 07:15 PM (#2846093)
Let's go Aaron.
   190. Alan S Posted: July 06, 2008 at 07:15 PM (#2846094)
That strikeout can easily be attributed to the 3 hours Feliciano had to devise his plan for Howarrd.
   191. Hey, it's what Johan uses (Matt) Posted: July 06, 2008 at 07:15 PM (#2846095)
See, this is where Wagner should be pitching.
   192. Crimes and Metsdemeanors Posted: July 06, 2008 at 07:16 PM (#2846097)
Come on, Aaron. You can DO IT!
   193. Crimes and Metsdemeanors Posted: July 06, 2008 at 07:18 PM (#2846101)
One more!
   194. Hey, it's what Johan uses (Matt) Posted: July 06, 2008 at 07:20 PM (#2846110)
Phew. Almost. Bear down, Aaron.
   195. Crimes and Metsdemeanors Posted: July 06, 2008 at 07:20 PM (#2846111)
I think he needs to come inside here.
   196. Alan S Posted: July 06, 2008 at 07:21 PM (#2846112)
Uh ohhhh...
   197. Raskolnikov Posted: July 06, 2008 at 07:21 PM (#2846113)
That's okay. Burrell terrifies me. Let's get Feliz.
   198. Hey, it's what Johan uses (Matt) Posted: July 06, 2008 at 07:21 PM (#2846114)
Why in the world would you pinch run for Burrell there? Jeez.
   199. Alan S Posted: July 06, 2008 at 07:23 PM (#2846117)
This gun can't be correct, but it said 96 mph on a fastball with great movement. He should keep throwing that pitch on the corner.
   200. Raskolnikov Posted: July 06, 2008 at 07:23 PM (#2846118)
HEILMAN!
