Guys-
Does anyone here watch the Mets games on MLB.com and live in the Mets market? I would like to have the option of watching the game either on tv or on my computer but I live in Queens. I know there are ways of "ghosting" your IP address so MLB.com doesn't know where you are coming from but I am not the most computer literate sort in the world so I am having a little trouble with it. ( I remember I tried to do this during my senior year at Syracuse, which is for some reason in the Mets market but I was unsuccessful) I figured this would be a good place to ask. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Conor, you need to find a proxy server. This is a step-by-step process.

Btw, Rotoworld saying the Mets are not interested in Ibanez anymore.

Hey, another Syracuse guy.

Yes sir. You still there? I graduated in 06, which if you do the math means I was a freshmen in April of 2003, which was pretty awesome.

I'll be a senior this year.

THANK THE EXTRA INNING GODS! Game has both home and away announcer options tonight. Hallelujah!

Looks like the Marlins might be getting Manny.
   12. Conor Posted: July 30, 2008 at 07:02 PM (#2882821)
So you were a freshmen in 06? At least you saw the second Big East title. The last few years have been a little rough. But I have relatively high hopes for this year. (It's scary that we haven't won an NCAA tournament game since I was a Soph.

Yeah, it's been an interesting few years. I covered the basketball team the last two years for The D.O., which was a blast. Didn't think I'd be covering two NITs, though. Covered football last year and that was just a comedy of errors. Got to go to Iowa, though.

Can we trade him to Detroit for Ordonez?

Our Heinous Reyes!

Dos Reyes!

Hit and run done to perfection.
   18. Joshemy Posted: July 30, 2008 at 07:14 PM (#2882844)
That was the worst possible productive out possible David.
   19. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: July 30, 2008 at 07:22 PM (#2882852)
Wright having an awesome start to this game. Awful throw that Delgado picks and chasing a pitch out of the zone for a DP.
   20. Hey, it's what Johan uses (Matt) Posted: July 30, 2008 at 07:22 PM (#2882855)
It is such a relief to be able to listen to Gary and Keith.

PELF!
   21. Alan S Posted: July 30, 2008 at 07:23 PM (#2882856)
Brandon Webb * Roy Halladay = Mike Pelfrey :)
   22. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: July 30, 2008 at 07:23 PM (#2882857)
Pelfrey ate Cantu alive.
   23. AJM Misses Brodeur Posted: July 30, 2008 at 07:23 PM (#2882859)
Nice, quick inning.
   24. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: July 30, 2008 at 07:24 PM (#2882861)
Halladay has a filthy curve and cutter. Not sure how anybody hits him. Just lucky, I guess.
   25. Hey, it's what Johan uses (Matt) Posted: July 30, 2008 at 07:25 PM (#2882864)
Alex Gordon was 0-for-0 with five walks today.
   26. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: July 30, 2008 at 07:26 PM (#2882867)
Gordon's been a major disappointment. He can't hit lefties for beans.
   27. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 30, 2008 at 07:26 PM (#2882868)
Brandon Webb * Roy Halladay = Mike Pelfrey :)

Last year it was Webb's ERA * Halladay's ERA = Pelfrey's ERA.
   28. Conor Posted: July 30, 2008 at 07:26 PM (#2882869)
That sinker he is throwing in to righties is almost unhittable.
   29. Hey, it's what Johan uses (Matt) Posted: July 30, 2008 at 07:28 PM (#2882873)
There is no justification for Marlon starting this game.

And the bastard gets a hit.
   30. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: July 30, 2008 at 07:29 PM (#2882875)
Here comes the DP from Schneider.
   31. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: July 30, 2008 at 07:30 PM (#2882877)
That it was predictable only lessens the anger slightly.
   32. Hey, it's what Johan uses (Matt) Posted: July 30, 2008 at 07:30 PM (#2882879)
Schneider really needs to not play.
   33. Alan S Posted: July 30, 2008 at 07:31 PM (#2882880)
I blame Marlon Anderson for the DP.
   34. Hey, it's what Johan uses (Matt) Posted: July 30, 2008 at 07:33 PM (#2882887)
Nice, Nats score three in the first...3-2.
   35. Lassus Posted: July 30, 2008 at 07:37 PM (#2882900)
Our Heinous Reyes!

Hey, I coined that!
   36. Hey, it's what Johan uses (Matt) Posted: July 30, 2008 at 07:38 PM (#2882902)
DID HE GET HIM?
   37. Lassus Posted: July 30, 2008 at 07:38 PM (#2882904)
Hmmmm...

I'm on the radio.

Bad call?
   38. Alan S Posted: July 30, 2008 at 07:38 PM (#2882906)
Howie Rose Sterlinged that call, but I'm glad he was wrong. Certainly looked safe to the naked eye.
   39. Joshemy Posted: July 30, 2008 at 07:39 PM (#2882908)
That was an awful slide and he is out!
   40. Lassus Posted: July 30, 2008 at 07:39 PM (#2882909)
Howie Rose says the replay shows that he's out.
   41. Hey, it's what Johan uses (Matt) Posted: July 30, 2008 at 07:39 PM (#2882910)
Great call! What an awful slide.
   42. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 30, 2008 at 07:39 PM (#2882911)
Uggla looked safe.
   43. Alan S Posted: July 30, 2008 at 07:39 PM (#2882912)
And looking at the replay, he was very much out. That was an absolutely awful slide by Uggla. Thank him for the Marlins' failure to score a run.
   44. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: July 30, 2008 at 07:39 PM (#2882913)
Great call. Clearly out.

*I don't have a monitor!*
   45. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 30, 2008 at 07:39 PM (#2882914)
That's a horrible slide. He should have been safe.
   46. Alan S Posted: July 30, 2008 at 07:40 PM (#2882918)
Russlan, he was clearly out. He slid around the plate and then slapped his hand onto Schneider's glove instead the plate. He was being way too clever there.
   47. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 30, 2008 at 07:42 PM (#2882921)
I agree Alan. I just worded 45 poorly. He would have been safe if he hadn't made such a poor slide.
   48. Alan S Posted: July 30, 2008 at 07:43 PM (#2882923)
Yeah, I jumped the gun. I was responding to #42, but you corrected yourself before I did, making me look stupid :)
   49. Alan S Posted: July 30, 2008 at 07:44 PM (#2882925)
Nothing to do with anything, but looking at Pelfrey's game logs, he has a funny looking progression, just looking at wins and losses.
   50. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 30, 2008 at 07:46 PM (#2882927)
BTW, when is Castillo coming back?
   51. Lassus Posted: July 30, 2008 at 07:47 PM (#2882933)
BTW, when is Castillo coming back?

Seems like never. I don't miss him that much, he's never really seemed a presence.

I don't trust Lil' Reyes and Easley is too old to play everyday.

What, did you lend him fifty bucks he hasn't returned? ;-)

Truth be told, I love games like this.

jesus christ what the hell is it with these doinking hits?
   62. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: July 30, 2008 at 08:05 PM (#2882975)
Eh, whatever. Nice pitching Pelfrey. Its just not going to be your night.
   63. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 30, 2008 at 08:06 PM (#2882980)
The last two hits for the Marlins haven't been particularly well struck but they are primed to take the lead.

Big time K for Pelf there.

Man, this inning is going by very slowly.
   67. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: July 30, 2008 at 08:13 PM (#2882998)
Would you say it is Trachselesque?
   68. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: July 30, 2008 at 08:16 PM (#2883012)
It just wasn't to be. Oh well.

   70. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: July 30, 2008 at 08:18 PM (#2883018)
The Mets were never going to win this game. That's fine. I still love how Pelfrey is pitching.
   71. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 30, 2008 at 08:18 PM (#2883019)
The Marlins aren't going anywhere.

Why would you say that?

He's finished.
   74. AJM Misses Brodeur Posted: July 30, 2008 at 08:21 PM (#2883033)

this play-by-play man's catch phrase is "that's what I'm talking 'bout!"?????
   76. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: July 30, 2008 at 08:22 PM (#2883038)
Pelfrey's fatigued. Ramirez should be his last batter.
   77. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: July 30, 2008 at 08:25 PM (#2883054)
I'll be shocked if the Mets show any fight. Hey, they are entitled. I can't remember the last time they lost a series.
   78. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: July 30, 2008 at 08:31 PM (#2883067)
I am worried about the Marlins. Johnson has been excellent since coming back. Their rotation is much better now than it was earlier.
   79. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: July 30, 2008 at 08:33 PM (#2883073)
The Marlins have a negative run differential. I can't take this team seriously.

The Mets didn't hit and they were due to lose a series.

A little bit of the old Marlon Magic setting up the Schneider DP.
