Hanging slider. Fouled back.

David just ain't right.
   202. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: August 27, 2008 at 10:16 PM (#2919650)
Did you just swing at that pitch, David? Seriously?
   203. Raskolnikov Posted: August 27, 2008 at 10:16 PM (#2919651)
Hero of the game up.
   204. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: August 27, 2008 at 10:17 PM (#2919652)
Hero of the game IBB.
   205. Raskolnikov Posted: August 27, 2008 at 10:17 PM (#2919653)
Wow. Walking Delgado. He's come a lot way.
Yay, Delgado.
   206. Raskolnikov Posted: August 27, 2008 at 10:18 PM (#2919654)
I call a Beltran 3 run shot to put this game away.
   207. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: August 27, 2008 at 10:18 PM (#2919656)
A three-run job would be oh-so-appreciated.
   208. Raskolnikov Posted: August 27, 2008 at 10:19 PM (#2919660)
Darn. Let's slam the door.
   209. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: August 27, 2008 at 10:19 PM (#2919661)
But, of course, that would make things TOO easy.
   210. Raskolnikov Posted: August 27, 2008 at 10:21 PM (#2919668)
I really like our lineup now. It's like 2006, except we've added to our Wright/Delgado/Beltran core with a better Reyes, Church, and Murphy.
   211. Raskolnikov Posted: August 27, 2008 at 10:22 PM (#2919670)
Come on Ayala.
   212. AJM Misses Brodeur Posted: August 27, 2008 at 10:22 PM (#2919671)
One down.
   213. Raskolnikov Posted: August 27, 2008 at 10:22 PM (#2919672)
God bless first pitch swinging hackers.
   214. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: August 27, 2008 at 10:22 PM (#2919675)
Of course, 2008 Beltran isn't as good as 2006 Beltran.
   215. AJM Misses Brodeur Posted: August 27, 2008 at 10:23 PM (#2919680)
Two down.
   216. Raskolnikov Posted: August 27, 2008 at 10:23 PM (#2919681)
I really like Ayala. Wish he could up his K rate though.
   217. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: August 27, 2008 at 10:24 PM (#2919684)
Ayala is a nice 7th or 8th inning guy. He's not a closer but beggars can't be choosers.
   218. will Posted: August 27, 2008 at 10:25 PM (#2919687)
So Taguchi no longer belongs on a major league roster
   219. Raskolnikov Posted: August 27, 2008 at 10:26 PM (#2919689)
As I see our bullpen hierarchy now, it's

Ayala
Stokes
Smith
Feliciano

(gap)
Sanchez
Heilman

(everyone else in the universe)

Schoenweis.
   220. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: August 27, 2008 at 10:26 PM (#2919690)
Happy! Happy! Happy! Joy! Joy! Joy!
   221. AJM Misses Brodeur Posted: August 27, 2008 at 10:26 PM (#2919692)
Three down!
   222. Raskolnikov Posted: August 27, 2008 at 10:26 PM (#2919693)
AYALA!

Huge win!

God bless Carlos Delgado!
   223. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: August 27, 2008 at 10:26 PM (#2919694)
Don't walk So, donkey.
   224. Chris Dial Posted: August 27, 2008 at 10:27 PM (#2919696)
Suck it.
   225. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: August 27, 2008 at 10:27 PM (#2919697)
Ayala

On behalf of Cub Nation, let me welcome the support of Met Nation for the next 4 days.

Do you guys think Burgos is going to be a factor in September?
   228. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: August 27, 2008 at 10:29 PM (#2919708)
"Do you guys think Burgos is going to be a factor in September?"

Was Guillermo Mota a huge factor?
   229. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: August 27, 2008 at 10:30 PM (#2919709)
I think Burgos is a good pitcher. He was good in 2005, was good in 2007, and is still pretty young. If he's healthy, I think he can help.
   230. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: August 27, 2008 at 10:32 PM (#2919712)
Sure. Maybe next year. But he's coming off TJ and that takes time. Burgos has pitched two innings in the FSL for Pete's sake!
   231. Raskolnikov Posted: August 27, 2008 at 10:34 PM (#2919715)
Burgos has pitched two innings in the FSL for Pete's sake!

I'm pretty sure Burgos is doing it for his own sake, and not for Pedro.

I'll be here all week, folks!
   232. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: August 27, 2008 at 10:35 PM (#2919719)
He has thrown some innings in the lower minors. He is not a starter so he doesn't need to be stretched out. He had surgery in late August last season so it's been a year. John Johnson has come back in less time than that.
   233. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: August 27, 2008 at 10:36 PM (#2919721)
"I'm pretty sure Burgos is doing it for his own sake, and not for Pedro."

Peter is my real name.

I'm sorry, but Sanchez is NOT a better option than Heilman.
