When Uggla makes that play, it's not your night.

To give David Wright a chance to do what, Cohen? Look overmatched?
   103. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: August 29, 2008 at 09:54 PM (#2922425)
Castillo has to steal here.
   104. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: August 29, 2008 at 09:55 PM (#2922427)
0-6. Shocker!
   105. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: August 29, 2008 at 09:57 PM (#2922429)
This is the guy you want up right now.
   106. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: August 29, 2008 at 09:57 PM (#2922430)
A miracle!

This had better not be another tease.
   107. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: August 29, 2008 at 09:59 PM (#2922431)
Blah. I'd rather have Delgado up than Beltran. Bases loaded fail upcoming?
   108. Zeba Zeba Eata Posted: August 29, 2008 at 09:59 PM (#2922432)
BELTRAN!@!@?!!!!!)!!!(!@$(!@$@!!!!

*jaw drops*

Um. That was unexpected. Oh. My. Word. BOMB!
   111. Zeba Zeba Eata Posted: August 29, 2008 at 10:00 PM (#2922435)
Oh that's so f-ing sweet!
   112. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: August 29, 2008 at 10:01 PM (#2922437)
Being on this side of a couple of bullpen meltdowns is much more fun than being on the other side.

This game ain't over yet though.
   113. Zeba Zeba Eata Posted: August 29, 2008 at 10:04 PM (#2922441)
SWEET play by DW.
   114. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: August 29, 2008 at 10:04 PM (#2922442)
Wright is playing fabulous defense lately.
   115. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: August 29, 2008 at 10:04 PM (#2922443)
D-Dub clearly reads BTF between innings.
   116. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: August 29, 2008 at 10:05 PM (#2922445)
Don't walk people, Ayala.
   117. Srul Itza Posted: August 29, 2008 at 10:06 PM (#2922448)
My computer is malfunctioning.

It indicates that the Mets rallied in the top of the 9th with two outs.

What really happened?
   118. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: August 29, 2008 at 10:06 PM (#2922450)
Please get Baker. I don't want Hanley up as the tying run.
   119. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: August 29, 2008 at 10:07 PM (#2922452)
Yikes, Hanley is 5-7 against Ayala with 2 hr. Ouch.
   120. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: August 29, 2008 at 10:08 PM (#2922453)
Okay. Okay. Hanley can hit it to Pluto and it won't mean a thing.
   121. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: August 29, 2008 at 10:08 PM (#2922454)
Huge out.
   122. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: August 29, 2008 at 10:09 PM (#2922455)
That 0-1 pitch was a strike? I'll take it.
   123. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: August 29, 2008 at 10:10 PM (#2922457)
Its never easy.
   124. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: August 29, 2008 at 10:11 PM (#2922460)
Jacobs as the tying run.
   125. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: August 29, 2008 at 10:13 PM (#2922463)
Oh, Jesus. He's going to blow this now, isn't he?
   126. Zeba Zeba Eata Posted: August 29, 2008 at 10:13 PM (#2922464)
So not easy.
   127. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: August 29, 2008 at 10:14 PM (#2922465)
I think Ayala cloese this one out.
   128. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: August 29, 2008 at 10:15 PM (#2922467)
I have grave doubts. I know, its typical of me. Still.
   129. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: August 29, 2008 at 10:16 PM (#2922468)
AHHH! Too much pressure.
   130. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: August 29, 2008 at 10:16 PM (#2922469)
Am I dead?
   131. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: August 29, 2008 at 10:17 PM (#2922471)
Ayala only has one good pitch.
   132. Zeba Zeba Eata Posted: August 29, 2008 at 10:19 PM (#2922472)
This game is ridiculous.
   133. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: August 29, 2008 at 10:19 PM (#2922473)
Murphy with the nice play to save the game.

For now.
   134. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: August 29, 2008 at 10:19 PM (#2922474)
Cantu was never going to make an out.
   135. Zeba Zeba Eata Posted: August 29, 2008 at 10:20 PM (#2922477)
Put it in the books!
   136. Chris Dial Posted: August 29, 2008 at 10:21 PM (#2922478)
Did you see how far Ayala missed his spot? By three feet.
   137. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: August 29, 2008 at 10:21 PM (#2922479)
*dies*
   138. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: August 29, 2008 at 10:21 PM (#2922480)
Ayala didn't pitch well but he was a tad unlucky. Reyes probably should have gone to second. Also, there's only a few guys who are safe on that play anayway.
   139. Srul Itza Posted: August 29, 2008 at 10:22 PM (#2922481)
The sad thing is that Ayala actually earned a "save" for that performance.

Oh well, a win is a win.
   140. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: August 29, 2008 at 10:22 PM (#2922482)
Reyes probably should have gone to second.

I'll send him the bill from my cardiologist.
   141. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: August 29, 2008 at 10:23 PM (#2922484)
I don't love Ayala as the closer but I think he'll do an adequate job. He's going to give up hits but he doesn't walk people or give up too many homers. I can live with that.
   142. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: August 29, 2008 at 10:24 PM (#2922485)
This is a big W. With Pelfrey's struggles against Florida and Pedro's inconsistency, this one was a big game.
   143. Chris Dial Posted: August 29, 2008 at 10:25 PM (#2922486)
That was a big game because the Phils lost too. Pelfrey isn't going to struggle tomorrow. He's a changed man. What are his stats vs the Fish since Willie/Rick got canned?
   144. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: August 29, 2008 at 10:29 PM (#2922489)
Dial, in his last 17 starts, Pelfrey has a 2.31 ERA against everyone but FLA, and a 11.42 ERA against them.
