Murphy glorified the horsehide sphere!
   202. Alan S Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:05 PM (#2926906)
Daniel Murphy is earning himself a lot of opportunity in the future.
   203. HGH Positive Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:06 PM (#2926907)
A gift from Rickie Weeks.
   204. Alan S Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:06 PM (#2926908)
Wooo, Reyes speed/bad defense!
   205. Sam M. Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:06 PM (#2926910)
Daniel, you're a star in the face of the sky.

Fat puck Prince got in the way of Torres.

Yes!
   208. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:07 PM (#2926913)
Endy has to get this run in. I don't trust David.

Bunt, Endy.
   210. Chris Dial Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:07 PM (#2926916)
Was Reyes in the running box?
   211. BeanoCook Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:08 PM (#2926917)
K. DP. Watch!
   212. Sam M. Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:08 PM (#2926918)
Was Reyes in the running box?

Very, very close. But he was right at the base as the ball got there, so it was a good no-call.
   213. HGH Positive Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:08 PM (#2926919)
Endy!
   214. Alan S Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:09 PM (#2926920)
Sac fly!
   215. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:09 PM (#2926921)
Great job, Endy!
   216. AJM Misses Brodeur Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:09 PM (#2926922)
Sac fly!
   217. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:09 PM (#2926923)
Well done, Endy.

Insurance runs would be cool.
   218. Sam M. Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:09 PM (#2926926)
That'll do, but I would really rather have something to keep a big inning going.

Time to run, Jose.
   219. HGH Positive Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:10 PM (#2926927)
Once again, Daniel Murphy in the middle of a big rally.
   220. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:11 PM (#2926930)
David is just utterly ####### useless right now.
   221. Chris Dial Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:11 PM (#2926931)
Daniel, you're a star in the face of the sky.
That's appropriate.
   222. BeanoCook Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:12 PM (#2926934)
It is like Wright can't ID the difference between a fastball and an off-speed pitch.
   223. HGH Positive Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:12 PM (#2926936)
Jesus, David.
   224. Chris Dial Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:13 PM (#2926942)
This would be a great spot for Joe SMith.
   225. Sam M. Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:14 PM (#2926943)
I figured you might get the reference, Chris. ;-)
   226. BeanoCook Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:14 PM (#2926944)
I predict we see the MLB debut of Mat Gamel here.
   227. Alan S Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:14 PM (#2926946)
I would appreciate it if you continue to be ignore the past month for one more inning, bullpen.
   228. AJM Misses Brodeur Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:17 PM (#2926950)
Where was that 1-2 pitch?
   229. HGH Positive Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:17 PM (#2926951)
Was that pitch low?
   230. Alan S Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:17 PM (#2926952)
That 1-2 looked like a strike.
   231. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:17 PM (#2926953)
Where did that 1-2 pitch miss?
   232. Sam M. Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:17 PM (#2926955)
Where the heck was the 1-2??? Ouch.
   233. Alan S Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:17 PM (#2926956)
Well, anyway. Hooray Ayala!
   234. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:17 PM (#2926957)
That was strike 4, Mike.
   235. Sam M. Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:18 PM (#2926958)
OK, we'll take the 2-2. Cameron sure can't complain, since he got four strikes.
   236. HGH Positive Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:18 PM (#2926959)
These Brewer announcers turn into cheerleaders any time the Brewers hit a ball in the air.
   237. Chris Dial Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:18 PM (#2926960)
Cameron ought to be ill. Thhose 5 pitches were all in the same location. How the #### is Camern supposed to know when it is a ball and when it is a strike.
   238. Sam M. Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:18 PM (#2926961)
Thanks for the first-pitch swinging, Bill. One more, Luis.
   239. HGH Positive Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:20 PM (#2926963)
Too close.
   240. Alan S Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:20 PM (#2926964)
I could not tell whether or not that was a home run, because of the camera angle. I am happy it's it a double.
   241. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:20 PM (#2926965)
I thought that was gone.
   242. HGH Positive Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:20 PM (#2926967)
So did the announcers, for the 10th time tonight.
   243. AJM Misses Brodeur Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:21 PM (#2926969)
These Brewer announcers turn into cheerleaders any time the Brewers hit a ball in the air.

Yeah, jeez. Those balls weren't close to being out.
   244. Sam M. Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:21 PM (#2926970)
Oy. You know that it don't come easy.
   245. HGH Positive Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:22 PM (#2926971)
Gabe Kapler killed us early in the year.
   246. Alan S Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:22 PM (#2926972)
This strike zone seems pretty random.
   247. Chris Dial Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:23 PM (#2926975)
Don't walk him.
   248. HGH Positive Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:24 PM (#2926976)
Walk isn't the end of the world.
   249. Alan S Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:24 PM (#2926977)
Bad, Luis.
   250. AJM Misses Brodeur Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:24 PM (#2926978)
When's Wagner coming back?
   251. BeanoCook Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:24 PM (#2926979)
Weeks is locked in today. 4 hits and 4 other balls ripped foul tonight. If there is a 1st pitch fastball, watch out.
   252. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:24 PM (#2926980)
Luis is going to close this baby out.
   253. Sam M. Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:25 PM (#2926981)
Throw strikes, for God sakes. I'd much rather let Kapler beat us than Weeks.
   254. HGH Positive Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:25 PM (#2926982)
This is what we get for not leaving Stokes in for 4 innings.
   255. BeanoCook Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:25 PM (#2926983)
He is hurt. I'd pull him.
   256. Sam M. Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:26 PM (#2926985)
Damnnit, Ayala -- at least throw the illusion of strikes. These pitches do NOTHING.
   257. HGH Positive Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:26 PM (#2926986)
This pitch better be in the dirt.
   258. HGH Positive Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:28 PM (#2926988)
That wasn't in the dirt.
   259. HGH Positive Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:28 PM (#2926989)
Thank you.
   260. Alan S Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:28 PM (#2926990)
Big win!
   261. AJM Misses Brodeur Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:28 PM (#2926991)
Phew.
   262. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:28 PM (#2926992)
YES! BIG TIME ####### SAVE!
   263. Sam M. Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:29 PM (#2926994)
We beat the Brewers in Milwaukee, alreay having taken the series.

We won the two games started by lefties.

We won with the 21 year old kid making his major league debut.

We will be alone in first place when the Phillies arrive at Shea, no matter what happens tomorrow afternoon.

I count this road trip a BIG success. Split two in Philly, win two of three in Florida, and now win this series in Milwaukee. WELL DONE.
   264. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:29 PM (#2926995)
13 straight scoreless innings for the bullpen.
   265. Chris Dial Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:29 PM (#2926997)
Sweet.
   266. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:30 PM (#2926999)
The Brewers are a good matchup for the Met bullpen.
   267. Chris Dial Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:30 PM (#2927000)
Win tomorrow, and then we are really in business.
   268. BeanoCook Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:31 PM (#2927002)
Does anyone still worry about the way the Mets handled the firing of Willie Randolph?
   269. HGH Positive Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:32 PM (#2927003)
Does anyone still worry about the way the Mets handled the firing of Willie Randolph?

I'm sure Baseball Tonight does.
   270. Sam M. Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:32 PM (#2927005)
Oh, more fun facts:

The Nats are now eliminated -- our first kill. I believe they may actually be the first team mathematically eliminated from ALL contention, WC and division race.

Next up: the Braves, whose tragic number is 6.

We're now 17 games over .500, first time all season.

And 2-0 in September. Gotta love it.
   271. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:33 PM (#2927006)
I'm sure some people here are upset the Mets didn't worse to Willie.
   272. HGH Positive Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:34 PM (#2927008)
Next up: the Braves, whose tragic number is 6.

Was it Stark who picked them to win the WS? One of those ESPN talking heads.
   273. Russlan is an overhyped Met BTFer Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:34 PM (#2927010)
Seattle was eliminated first.
   274. Sam M. Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:37 PM (#2927014)
Seattle was eliminated first.

Oh, yeah. I see now Boston eliminated them from the WC race. Never mind.

Another fun fact: The Mets are now over .500 on the road (37-36). Awesome.
   275. Anthropophagus Mets Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:41 PM (#2927018)
WTF is ESPN?

Is that the one with the testicle-less Philly homer who called David Wright an idiot a few years back?
   276. HGH Positive Posted: September 02, 2008 at 11:51 PM (#2927024)
Sounds right.
