And you know what? I bet you he gets at least one more start.

He makes three starts, can't get past the fifth inning in all three and the Mets fail to admit there are better options, some which ARE ALL READY ON THE TEAM.
   102. In what respect, Craig K? Posted: May 18, 2006 at 02:50 PM (#2026126)
ANTHONY!

OUR ONE PROSPECT!
   103. Flounder is dangerous again Posted: May 18, 2006 at 02:50 PM (#2026127)
Encarnacion will never ever ever do the Cards a favor by getting hurt, will he?
   104. Hey, it's what Johan uses (Matt) Posted: May 18, 2006 at 02:53 PM (#2026133)
I'm done for today, I'm obviously a little to angry to be around here.
   105. Banta Posted: May 18, 2006 at 02:53 PM (#2026135)
I AM GETTING SICK OF LISTENING TO THE MET ANNOUNCERS JUSTIFYING LIMA'S PRESENCE
   106. Joshemy Posted: May 18, 2006 at 02:54 PM (#2026141)
Yay Delgado. Come on David.
   107. Joshemy Posted: May 18, 2006 at 02:55 PM (#2026145)
D-Wrong.
   108. Banta Posted: May 18, 2006 at 02:56 PM (#2026149)
You know, Lima time is getting me to the point where I'd accept a bad trade for a starting pitcher. Not a horrific trade, but a regular bad one. That's sad.
   109. Benji Posted: May 18, 2006 at 02:57 PM (#2026158)
Banta, that's how I feel when Cohen and Hernandez gush about Matsui every night.
   110. Bob Koo Posted: May 18, 2006 at 03:02 PM (#2026172)
I am disappointed in Cohen's unwillingness to criticize the Mets for starting Jose Lima three times. I wonder if the radio version of him would've sung a different tone.
   111. Banta Posted: May 18, 2006 at 03:03 PM (#2026177)
Banta, that's how I feel when Cohen and Hernandez gush about Matsui every night.

Yeah, that's starting to wear a bit thin on me too. I guess it doesn't kill me as much though because Matsui isn't the worst option at second base and could very well be the best (as sad as that is to say). Lima CANNOT be the best option and he HAS to be the worst.
   112. Bob Koo Posted: May 18, 2006 at 03:06 PM (#2026188)
Bradford hasn't been very good of late.
   113. Banta Posted: May 18, 2006 at 03:06 PM (#2026192)
Cohen's hasn't been critical of ANYTHING the Mets have done from day one on this station. Not surprising, since it IS the Mets station, but still.
   114. Benji Posted: May 18, 2006 at 03:07 PM (#2026197)
I go back with this team 40+ years, and I never thought their starting pitcher had no chance to pitch well or even competently. Until Lima.
   115. Benji Posted: May 18, 2006 at 03:13 PM (#2026220)
"Cole Hamels with a gem again". But we have two incredible arms wasting innings in AA and the bullpen.
   116. Banta Posted: May 18, 2006 at 03:15 PM (#2026227)
This team sucks.
   117. Banta Posted: May 18, 2006 at 03:16 PM (#2026232)
Pelfrey, I can understand leaving down longer. But at this point, you HAVE to be seriously considering Soler. He's not getting any younger.
   118. Banta Posted: May 18, 2006 at 03:23 PM (#2026263)
Feliciano has been pretty nice this year.
   119. Bob Koo Posted: May 18, 2006 at 03:26 PM (#2026270)
Kaz pinch-hitting? Yeah that'll get a rally started.
   120. Joshemy Posted: May 18, 2006 at 03:26 PM (#2026271)
In other amusing news, the Tides have started running out position players to pitch today.

Joe Hietpas pitched 1 scoreless innings, giving up 2 hits and got 1 K.

Ray Navarrete has pitched two innings, giving up 1 run on a HR. He has struck out one and given up a total of four hits.
   121. AJM Posted: May 18, 2006 at 03:29 PM (#2026281)
How do we only have 3 hits and 2 runs against Marquis? This team blows.
   122. AJM Posted: May 18, 2006 at 03:30 PM (#2026283)
Make it 4 hits and 3 runs.
   123. Banta Posted: May 18, 2006 at 03:30 PM (#2026282)
Alright, so maybe Valentin isn't done yet.
   124. Joshemy Posted: May 18, 2006 at 03:30 PM (#2026284)
JOSE VALENTIN???!!!
   125. Russlan is glad the 2008 season is over Posted: May 18, 2006 at 03:31 PM (#2026290)
Valentin should be the secondbaseman. I really do believe that.
   126. Russlan is glad the 2008 season is over Posted: May 18, 2006 at 03:33 PM (#2026299)
BTW, the Brewers have taken the lead.
   127. Joshemy Posted: May 18, 2006 at 03:34 PM (#2026304)
I have to go to work now. This team is instilling no confidence in me for this upcoming weekend.
   128. Bob Koo Posted: May 18, 2006 at 03:36 PM (#2026311)
Great, now Oliver is going to blow my fantasy team's chance of getting an Izzy save.
   129. Banta Posted: May 18, 2006 at 03:36 PM (#2026315)
GO BREWERS
   130. Bob Koo Posted: May 18, 2006 at 03:39 PM (#2026325)
With Bannister likely to be out for a longer period of time, and two gaping holes in the rotation, it really is time to put Heilman in the rotation. The team is out of excuses in this regard.
   131. AJM Posted: May 18, 2006 at 03:48 PM (#2026356)
Tying run at the plate!
   132. Russlan is glad the 2008 season is over Posted: May 18, 2006 at 03:48 PM (#2026358)
It would be assume if Castro could hit one out here.
   133. Flounder is dangerous again Posted: May 18, 2006 at 03:49 PM (#2026361)
Here comes bad Izzy.
   134. Bob Koo Posted: May 18, 2006 at 03:50 PM (#2026364)
How do you not pinch hit Nady here for Chavez? You need a blast. Dammit Willie.
   135. AJM Posted: May 18, 2006 at 03:50 PM (#2026365)
Why is Chavez hitting!?!?
   136. Russlan is glad the 2008 season is over Posted: May 18, 2006 at 03:50 PM (#2026367)
Soler is going to make a start before Heilman does so.
   137. Bob Koo Posted: May 18, 2006 at 03:53 PM (#2026374)
I despise Jose Lima and Willie's lack of late-game pinch-hitting for a starting position player.
   138. Banta Posted: May 18, 2006 at 03:53 PM (#2026379)
The Yankees are gonna pummel the #### out of the Mets.
   139. Chris now in Shanghai! Posted: May 18, 2006 at 03:57 PM (#2026395)
Can you imagine if the Yankees got to face Lima? That would not be pretty.
   140. Bob Koo Posted: May 18, 2006 at 04:02 PM (#2026420)
It's amazing that the Mets are still two games out in front considering that they chose to punt 3 of their last 11 games.
   141. Rob Base Posted: May 18, 2006 at 04:20 PM (#2026477)
Braves are now 3.5 back. Ugh.
   142. Hey, it's what Johan uses (Matt) Posted: May 18, 2006 at 04:47 PM (#2026530)
Endy Chavez? Ahahahahaha!
