I'd rather see Denorfia get ABs in Buck's absence than Brown. I'm even to the point that I'd rather see Crosby batting 3rd than Brown. That's right, Bobby Crosby. I can't believe I even thought that, much less posted it.

I actually looked up Blanton's middle name. I feel foolish. It's been 75 years since Rube Walberg pitched for the Athletics, 101 since Rube Waddell did and 92 years since Rube Oldring patrolled center field. Unfortunately neither Rube Benton nor Rube Bressler were Athletics.

I blame Sweeney for that.

Something tells me 1-0 just may hold up...

Eddings is a terrible umpire.

The flying bat is a good tactic. We should use it more often.

Hang your head in shame, Joe.

Sims and Blowers are talking like Hernandez has a perfect game going or something. He's walked two in the fifth after giving up three ringing line drives in the fourth. Eight strikeouts with the aid of the Magical Eddings Strike Zone isn't a remarkable accomplishment.

Felix may have gotten some help, but he's pitching very well also. Blanton has the same umpire.

I'd rather see Denorfia get ABs in Buck's absence than Brown.

On this note, I think I'd demote Sweeney, punt Melillo and purchase Linden, going with a Cust/Denorfia, Denorfia/Davis, Linden/Brown arrangement for the time being.

I don't really want Linden or Brown taking ABs from Sweeney. I'd do Cust-Brown/Denorfia/Sweeney and keep Davis as a backup.

I don't have a problem with punting Melillo or Gray though.

Remind me to go to Vegas next time Felix is scheduled against us. How many runs over the past 3 yrs. have we scored against him? I'm betting less than 6.

Don't go hitting into a triple play or anything, you ####.

By the way, leave it to Emil Brown to break his bat on a pitch that fat.
   20. Danny Posted: April 27, 2008 at 06:03 PM (#2760812)
Brown's now 10 for 21 w/RISP with 18 RBI. It ain't gonna last, but I'm loving it so far.

That's about as far outside as I've ever seen a called strike.

Backdoor slider, Jairo. If it's within a foot it's a strike.

Jairo le Magnifique!
