Seeing as Joe's been pitching like ####, I'm left to fall back on an old entreaty.
   3. Greg Maddux School of Reflexive Profanity Posted: July 04, 2008 at 07:10 PM (#2843613)
I'm trying to see the logic in batting Ellis in front of two guys with way less power.
   4. Greg Maddux School of Reflexive Profanity Posted: July 04, 2008 at 07:17 PM (#2843622)
I'd really rather see the Sweeney-Davis-Gonzalez outfield. Davis may have just the one tool, but that's infinitely more than Brown has.
   5. Greg Maddux School of Reflexive Profanity Posted: July 04, 2008 at 07:18 PM (#2843625)
They've managed to find a cap that's worse than both the green road cap and the black alternate cap.
   6. Ivan Grushenko of HK in Tokyo Posted: July 04, 2008 at 07:20 PM (#2843630)
Well I guess Ellis is a better hitter than Sweeney or Suzuki so I'm not horrified by him hitting first. I guess they figure they need an RBI guy in the cleanup spot. I have no other explanation for Emil.
   7. Ivan Grushenko of HK in Tokyo Posted: July 04, 2008 at 07:21 PM (#2843634)
Is that a Connie Mack cap?
   8. Greg Maddux School of Reflexive Profanity Posted: July 04, 2008 at 07:26 PM (#2843643)
No, there's some league-wide (apart from the White Sox, it would appear) 4th of July-specifc cap mandate: solid blue with the flag incorporated in the logos.
   9. Greg Maddux School of Reflexive Profanity Posted: July 04, 2008 at 07:45 PM (#2843686)
Ellis apparently thinks he's Rickey lately.
   10. Greg Maddux School of Reflexive Profanity Posted: July 04, 2008 at 07:46 PM (#2843688)
Hawk, no pitch has ever cross the corner of the plate only to end up six inches outside by the time the catcher caught it.

Great send, genius.
   11. Greg Maddux School of Reflexive Profanity Posted: July 04, 2008 at 07:49 PM (#2843693)
####### two-hop throw beat him by a mile. Baserunners are apparently much faster in the PCL.
   12. Greg Maddux School of Reflexive Profanity Posted: July 04, 2008 at 07:56 PM (#2843709)
Oh, I get all caught up watching The Birds before the game and I miss the freeing of Jerry Blevins.

CUST!!!
   13. Greg Maddux School of Reflexive Profanity Posted: July 04, 2008 at 08:04 PM (#2843723)
Does the plate magically get larger for 3-1 than 0-0 and 1-0?
   14. Greg Maddux School of Reflexive Profanity Posted: July 04, 2008 at 08:10 PM (#2843736)
I'd rather this weren't the patented Joe Blanton Crap-the-Bed Inning.
   15. Greg Maddux School of Reflexive Profanity Posted: July 04, 2008 at 08:13 PM (#2843740)
What're you holding the ball for? ####.
   16. Ivan Grushenko of HK in Tokyo Posted: July 04, 2008 at 08:16 PM (#2843751)
That wasn't pretty, and to make it more worrisome Joe got two outs on line drives.
   17. Greg Maddux School of Reflexive Profanity Posted: July 04, 2008 at 08:37 PM (#2843789)
Like a Soyuz capsule hurtling to the gap.
   18. Greg Maddux School of Reflexive Profanity Posted: July 04, 2008 at 08:43 PM (#2843795)
And they'll complain endlessly about Hannahan not touching the plate. Never you mind that he was heading back to touch it, and would have made it because he was considerably closer the the plate than Pierzynski, before the "safe" call made it moot.
   19. Ivan Grushenko of HK in Tokyo Posted: July 04, 2008 at 08:48 PM (#2843809)
Where's Carlos?
   20. Ivan Grushenko of HK in Tokyo Posted: July 04, 2008 at 08:49 PM (#2843810)
Gonzalez not Quentin
   21. Greg Maddux School of Reflexive Profanity Posted: July 04, 2008 at 08:49 PM (#2843811)
Er, dunno. Rather curious.
   22. Greg Maddux School of Reflexive Profanity Posted: July 04, 2008 at 08:50 PM (#2843812)
Hope you break your leg again, Jermaine.
   23. Greg Maddux School of Reflexive Profanity Posted: July 04, 2008 at 08:52 PM (#2843816)
Okay, Bob, you're gotten more than you could reasonably have expected out of Joe, so don't press your luck.
   24. Greg Maddux School of Reflexive Profanity Posted: July 04, 2008 at 08:53 PM (#2843820)
My brain is mush. Typo after typo.

DAWNEE MURPHEE!!!
   25. Greg Maddux School of Reflexive Profanity Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:02 PM (#2843827)
Pad that lead. Give the Groin a rest.
   26. Greg Maddux School of Reflexive Profanity Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:03 PM (#2843828)
Ahh, tight right hamstring for Not Quentin.
   27. Ivan Grushenko of HK in Tokyo Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:03 PM (#2843829)
This Bankston guy's doing better than I thought he would.
   28. Greg Maddux School of Reflexive Profanity Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:06 PM (#2843832)
Well, he apparently has the daring of a thief on the basepaths.
   29. Greg Maddux School of Reflexive Profanity Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:14 PM (#2843845)
Yep, complaining endlessly about the Hannahan play.
   30. Ivan Grushenko of HK in Tokyo Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:15 PM (#2843847)
I'm rather enjoying that
   31. Ivan Grushenko of HK in Tokyo Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:16 PM (#2843850)
I like Tippi Hedren
   32. Greg Maddux School of Reflexive Profanity Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:18 PM (#2843857)
She's dreamy.
   33. Greg Maddux School of Reflexive Profanity Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:22 PM (#2843863)
Blevins!
   34. Greg Maddux School of Reflexive Profanity Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:22 PM (#2843865)
And that lineout suggests he'll be needed.
   35. Ivan Grushenko of HK in Tokyo Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:25 PM (#2843869)
Joe's been walking the tightrope all night.
   36. Greg Maddux School of Reflexive Profanity Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:29 PM (#2843888)
A pitch that breaks a few inches over the course of sixty feet doesn't break six inches between the front of the plate and the catcher's mitt. Give it a rest, Hawk.
   37. Greg Maddux School of Reflexive Profanity Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:42 PM (#2843932)
Okay, the bird sounds made listening to this crap for three hours worth it.
   38. Greg Maddux School of Reflexive Profanity Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:50 PM (#2843948)
Toronto's got the stupid 4th of July caps, too.
   39. Greg Maddux School of Reflexive Profanity Posted: July 04, 2008 at 09:58 PM (#2843963)
The first of several consecutive homerless outings for Jairo that will have him once again ascending to the top of the setup hierarchy, where he'll remain until Joey Devine has several consecutive homerless outings..
   40. Greg Maddux School of Reflexive Profanity Posted: July 04, 2008 at 10:00 PM (#2843966)
Huzzah.
