Rasner's curve is legit. Earn a spot kid!

On another note, my cousin from Jersey just got a job as a Baltimore city Police.

So. That is um, well.

My entire knowledge of the Baltimore City Police comes from watching the Wire. If it's even remotely accurate, your cousin is one braver than average dude (which could probably be said about most police, I guess).

The Wire is just a great show. I loved when the guy from 25th Hour dropped his signature line in the second episode:

"Major crimes? Shieeeeetttt."

God, that show is awesome. Great writing.

Good luck to your cousin SJ. Cops don't get enough credit for the good they do, but that's just how it is.

And just for the hell of it, 25th Hour is a great movie. Among Spike's better joints.

"Someday, I want to walk down the street and people point to me and say to their kids, 'There goes the greatest number 9 hitter with a .280/.300/.400 upside, tops, that ever lived.'"

I love the wire, it is a frequesnt topic in the lounge.

Phil Coorey and I told LABHW that if he rented the Wire and did not like it, we would pay for the DVDs. He ended up watching 3 seasons worth in 3 weeks.

Oh and last nights lineup was the greatest starting 9 in ML history.

I think it might be. I really hope he pitches well tonight.
Funny, with all the offense the Yanks have been displaying, and with other reasons to watch such as Cano's surge and a possible shot at the batting title, Rasner is what I really what I'm tuning in to see.

Kaye: Darrell Rasner will obviously not be involved in the Yankees postseason...
Really? So sure?
   10. agodnamedpablo2 Posted: September 28, 2006 at 07:22 PM (#2190778)
getting more sure

I live in the Baltimore. The Wire isn't too far off.
   12. Matt Waters Posted: September 28, 2006 at 08:29 PM (#2190812)
Well, ####, tough luck Rasner. See you in Spring Training 07.
   13. Larry Mahnken Posted: September 28, 2006 at 08:50 PM (#2190829)
No better way to go into the postseason than getting no-hit!
   14. Cutter Posted: September 28, 2006 at 08:51 PM (#2190831)
And see you next week (hopefully) Yankee offense? Geez, they finally face a guy that has some stuff and they proceed to get no-hit. Not a good sign going into October.
   15. Vaux, A.B.D. Posted: September 28, 2006 at 08:53 PM (#2190836)
Don't worry, Cutter. Against Nate Robertson and Kenny Rogers, they'll do twice what the Blue Jays did against them.

That's assuming they get by Santana and the Twins.

If the Twins pass the Tigers this weekend, they'll get Detroit first.
   18. Vaux, A.B.D. Posted: September 28, 2006 at 09:01 PM (#2190851)
No, it's assuming that the Twins take the division and the Tigers get the wildcard, thereby facing the Yankees.

OK. Then its assuming either one of the two.

Dear Orioles Pitchers,

What the ####, guys? The whole ####### year, you allow walk after walk to the whole goddamned league. To Tampa. To Toronto. To Boston. To ####### Kansas City. Then, when you face the Yankees, you turn into the second ############# coming of Cy ############# Young. How the hell does that happen? Does Rockin' Leo give you an extra reacharound if you don't #### up against us or something? How's about a little help, here? Stop thowing the ####### ball over the ####### plate and go back to your usual rocking ways. Especially that Loewen kid, he's a little strike-throwing ####-lick.

Regards,
'ZOP

OK, I'm all for making the first hit of the game a clean hit, but that last error there should probably have been a hit.
   22. McCoy Posted: September 28, 2006 at 09:29 PM (#2190907)
No that was just a bad read on Mora's part.
   23. Cutter Posted: September 28, 2006 at 09:32 PM (#2190910)

With today's scoring, probably. But circumstances taken into consideration....

Does any O's fan know if wearing glasses has contributed to Cabrera's improved control?
   27. KronicFatigue Posted: September 28, 2006 at 09:53 PM (#2190953)
it has improved his control, but his conservative hair/neckline will catch up with him.
   28. Cutter Posted: September 28, 2006 at 09:54 PM (#2190954)
Dotel is friggin' terrible.

Cano is not.
   29. Alan S Posted: September 28, 2006 at 09:54 PM (#2190955)
Robinson Cano is a scumbag.
   30. Larry Mahnken Posted: September 28, 2006 at 09:54 PM (#2190958)
ROBINSON CANO IS THE GREATEST HERO IN AMERICAN HISTORY!!! WOOT!

Good job by Cabrera, though. Bravo.
   31. KronicFatigue Posted: September 28, 2006 at 09:55 PM (#2190962)
i [heart] cano
   32. Larry Mahnken Posted: September 28, 2006 at 09:55 PM (#2190964)
No 100-win teams this year now, either.

Good job by Cabrera, though. Bravo.
   33. Cutter Posted: September 28, 2006 at 09:56 PM (#2190967)
I think this confirms who the AL MVP is. Jeter doesn't play and the Yanks nearly get no-hit.
   34. Dingbat Charlie Posted: September 28, 2006 at 09:59 PM (#2190972)
doh, so close. man Cano is good.

nice game DC.
   35. Kolmo Posted: September 28, 2006 at 09:59 PM (#2190974)
Supposedly Cano and Cabrera have been friends for something like 20 years.
   36. RB in NYC (Now with Christmas Spirit!) Posted: September 28, 2006 at 11:06 PM (#2191040)
Phew. I was at this game and not looking forward to the possibility of them being no-hit. Thank god for Robby Cano!
   37. DKDC Posted: September 29, 2006 at 12:24 AM (#2191114)
I officially hate Robinson Cano.

But I hate him like I hate Jeter, not like I hate Giambi and Sheffield.
