Yeah, with the wind blowing in, he must've smoked it. GameDay made it look like it cleared the wall by plenty.
Coste lost his bat at strike 3 there.

No pitcher in baseball history has ever allowed less than 4 hits per 9 innings in a season in which he threw more than 50 innings.
Yeah, but I can't watch it on my crapass work PC. I'll have to wait till I get home.
I suspect they'll have those lefties regardless.
Decent AB by Ronny after falling behind early, he did swing at ball 4 twice though.
Really? That is mindblowing stuff from Marmol then.
And yeah, that's exactly what I was suggesting re. Fontenot--I'm happy to have him facing the righthander, or Soto facing the lefty.
Really. (So sayeth Pat Hughes, and B-R confirms.)
Here are the H/9 leaders among pitchers who have thrown >75 IP:

Gagne was pretty unreal that year.

Then again, it sounds like what ball four is or is not might vary from pitch to pitch today, so I guess he can't be faulted.
Mets win!!
Everybody wins!!
That last pitch by Marmol was filthy.
Marmol is arguably the most dominating pitcher in all of baseball.
Meh. You worry too much. I still think Zambrano'll be fine despite his awful August, even when Harden's off he goes 5 and doesn't give up much, and I'm not exactly sounding the alarms on Dempster after 1 mediocre start against a good offense. Lilly's been solid after his awful start.
21 straight, the last coming around Halloween, would be yet more impressive.
That's gonna sink his chances on the LPGA tour.
Yes . . . and no. It's not magic when the team is really, really good, top to bottom. It's just damned impressive. And these Cubs certainly are.
It just feels like magic. ;-)
You sure? I bet if you asked him, he'd say he likes women.
Now, that's magical.
