Probably reported early to Alaska's WBC team.

Damon is 2-2 through 2 innings. Can I stop hating him now?
   15. Sean McNally Posted: March 02, 2006 at 02:58 PM (#1881128)
Frackin' XM NOT carrying this game.
   16. Sean McNally Posted: March 02, 2006 at 02:59 PM (#1881131)
Yes, you no longer hate Damon, SG.

Do we have a good nickname for him yet?
   17. veer bender Posted: March 02, 2006 at 02:59 PM (#1881132)
Is there any way of following this game for free? I mean, other than just eavesdroppng on you guys?
   18. PhillyBooster Posted: March 02, 2006 at 03:01 PM (#1881134)
No. It's only Ryan Franklin.
   19. Moe Greene Posted: March 02, 2006 at 03:01 PM (#1881135)
Was that Bernie Williams out there chasing that double???
   20. PhillyBooster Posted: March 02, 2006 at 03:02 PM (#1881137)
Also, sounds like Damon just misplayed that Ruiz double.
   21. Sean McNally Posted: March 02, 2006 at 03:02 PM (#1881139)
Bernie was supposed to be playing right, yes.
   22. SG in ATL Posted: March 02, 2006 at 03:04 PM (#1881144)
I still hate Damon after that Bernie-like range on that "double."
   23. PhillyBooster Posted: March 02, 2006 at 03:05 PM (#1881145)
Was that Bernie Williams out there chasing that double???

No, it was to left center. Damon was the closest player.

Home Run Pat Burrell!!!!!!!!!!11!!!one

Game Audio from this Page

Frackin' Pat Burrell.

He will have a great spring. I will draft him for my roto team. He will then proceed to imitate a corpse.

"Coming on is Bernie Williams and he makes the running catch."

Save this game reel.
   30. SG in ATL Posted: March 02, 2006 at 03:20 PM (#1881178)
Is it just me, or is Bernie's range in RF not looking that bad?
   31. SG in ATL Posted: March 02, 2006 at 03:21 PM (#1881182)
Madson owns us. All is lost.

Madson's going to own the NL East this year.
   32. Sean McNally Posted: March 02, 2006 at 03:22 PM (#1881184)
Did anyone think "range" was going to be Bernie's problem in right?
   33. SG in ATL Posted: March 02, 2006 at 03:22 PM (#1881188)
Did anyone think "range" was going to be Bernie's problem in right?

Yes.

"Back to Henn...he fields his position well. And he almost throws it away!"

Oh Michael Kay.
   35. Sean McNally Posted: March 02, 2006 at 03:24 PM (#1881194)
He can cover right ... its throwing it all the way to the cut off man that's the problem.
   36. PhillyBooster Posted: March 02, 2006 at 03:24 PM (#1881195)
Madson's going to own the NL East this year.

Yeah. The best trade of the year was when the Phils traded 60 innings of Ryan Madson for 160 innings of Ryan Madson.
   37. Hey, it's what Johan uses (Matt) Posted: March 02, 2006 at 03:24 PM (#1881197)
Legends Field is probably the WORST spring training venue in all of Florida/Arizona.
   38. Sean McNally Posted: March 02, 2006 at 03:25 PM (#1881202)
Not having seen it, why do you say that?
   39. Moe Greene Posted: March 02, 2006 at 03:26 PM (#1881203)
No, it was to left center. Damon was the closest player.

No, I'm watching the game, I realize that. I was implying that Damon's route to the ball looked like something Bernie would've done.
   40. Hey, it's what Johan uses (Matt) Posted: March 02, 2006 at 03:27 PM (#1881205)
I must say, I like these blue Phils unis. I was always a big fan of the blue hats, but Lenny said they were unlucky and that was the end of that.
   41. Hey, it's what Johan uses (Matt) Posted: March 02, 2006 at 03:28 PM (#1881207)
Wonderful, the Torre/Randolph Subway commercials are already back with a vengence.
   42. Sean McNally Posted: March 02, 2006 at 03:29 PM (#1881210)
But what did Darren Daulton say about them?Do they balance the astraul plane?
   43. PhillyBooster Posted: March 02, 2006 at 03:30 PM (#1881213)
No, I'm watching the game, I realize that. I was implying that Damon's route to the ball looked like something Bernie would've done.

Ah. I didn't realize we were discussing the Platonic Ideal of Bernie Williams's Current Defensive Prowess rather than the physical person 150 feet to the left.
   44. SG in ATL Posted: March 02, 2006 at 03:30 PM (#1881215)
Aaron Small is a man among boys.
   45. Hey, it's what Johan uses (Matt) Posted: March 02, 2006 at 03:34 PM (#1881223)
But what did Darren Daulton say about them?Do they balance the astraul plane?

The blue caps actually pushed up the date of the world's end by approximately three years, five days and two hours according to Daulton.
   46. PhillyBooster Posted: March 02, 2006 at 03:34 PM (#1881224)
Good thing consecutive game hitting streaks don't include pre-season games.

I wasn't expecting that Aaron Small would still be the Greatest Pitcher In the History of the Universe.
   47. Hey, it's what Johan uses (Matt) Posted: March 02, 2006 at 03:36 PM (#1881226)
Gavin needs a huge spring.

You don't go 10-0 if you are not the Greatest Pitcher In the History of the Universe.

We may have our first nickname.

Gavin Floyd in...
Fasano catching
Santoval SS

Kevin Reese, LF hitting.

Greatest Pitcher In the History of the Universe™??

I prefer the Half-Man/Half-Amazing™ myself.
   52. Hey, it's what Johan uses (Matt) Posted: March 02, 2006 at 03:39 PM (#1881236)
Well, if you were curious on Kay's stance on the WBC...you got it!
   53. Sean McNally Posted: March 02, 2006 at 03:40 PM (#1881239)
Agent '99 has reported for Spring Training.

And now, running is Felix Escalona.
   54. Sean McNally Posted: March 02, 2006 at 03:41 PM (#1881240)
I missed it, what was it?
   55. Hey, it's what Johan uses (Matt) Posted: March 02, 2006 at 03:48 PM (#1881259)
He's not a fan of it at all.

The Kelly Stinnett Era begins.
   56. Sean McNally Posted: March 02, 2006 at 03:54 PM (#1881270)
Marcos V. is in the game.

Stinnett's pitch calling is suboptimum.

Andy Phillips!
   59. PhillyBooster Posted: March 02, 2006 at 04:02 PM (#1881281)
There has never been a successful major leaguer named "Gavin". The closest was Scott Erickson, whose middle name was Gavin.

That's close as to the name, and close as to whether he wsa "successful".
   60. Hey, it's what Johan uses (Matt) Posted: March 02, 2006 at 04:04 PM (#1881287)
Oh Wright is pitching tomorrow? I'll be sure to tune in.

Mike Myers is doing a fine impression of The Run Fairy™.
   62. Sean McNally Posted: March 02, 2006 at 04:10 PM (#1881297)
Are we talking sequel here?

The Run Fairy™: Curse of Michael Myers?
   63. PhillyBooster Posted: March 02, 2006 at 04:10 PM (#1881298)
Our third stringers are completely kicking the butts of your third stringers.
   64. Sean McNally Posted: March 02, 2006 at 04:12 PM (#1881300)
But our starters are young, spry and impervious to injury - so it's not like our bench will be important. *sob*
   65. Hey, it's what Johan uses (Matt) Posted: March 02, 2006 at 04:14 PM (#1881304)
Roberson with a nice RBI hit. He looks like he could be a solid ML outfielder.
   66. SG in ATL Posted: March 02, 2006 at 04:14 PM (#1881305)
so it's not like our bench will be important. *sob*

Didn't you hear? The Yankees are going with a 15 man pitching staff so they don't need a bench. They have to squeeze Leiter and Erickson on to the team somehow.
   67. Sean McNally Posted: March 02, 2006 at 04:16 PM (#1881307)

What the hell is Danny Sandoval doing?
   69. Hey, it's what Johan uses (Matt) Posted: March 02, 2006 at 04:17 PM (#1881310)
There's your best prospect swinging at the first pitch of his first at-bat and grounding into a 3-6-3 DP.
   70. Sean McNally Posted: March 02, 2006 at 04:19 PM (#1881313)
If you tune in to a Marlins game later, you might be able to see your best prospect pitch? Ditto for the DRays game coming up.
   71. Sean McNally Posted: March 02, 2006 at 04:20 PM (#1881316)
J. Brent Cox in the game...
   72. Hey, it's what Johan uses (Matt) Posted: March 02, 2006 at 04:21 PM (#1881322)
Touche.

The past is the past.
   73. Hey, it's what Johan uses (Matt) Posted: March 02, 2006 at 04:23 PM (#1881323)
Is this Cox guy supposed to be any good? I know he was huge coming out as their 2nd round pick.
   74. Sean McNally Posted: March 02, 2006 at 04:25 PM (#1881324)
Yeah he is... sounds like he's acquitting himself well so far.
   75. Hey, it's what Johan uses (Matt) Posted: March 02, 2006 at 04:27 PM (#1881327)
No batting gloves on the kid that took Cox deep. I like to see that.
   76. SG in ATL Posted: March 02, 2006 at 04:30 PM (#1881329)
I don't think Cox is going to be Mariano's successor. The YES gun had him topping out at about 88.
   77. Hey, it's what Johan uses (Matt) Posted: March 02, 2006 at 04:33 PM (#1881334)
LARRY BOWA SIGHTING!
   78. Sean McNally Posted: March 02, 2006 at 04:34 PM (#1881337)
Does he use the Alou/Posada hand protecting ointment?
   79. Sean McNally Posted: March 02, 2006 at 04:44 PM (#1881346)
The YES gun had him topping out at about 88.

So we're accepting that as accurate this year?

I'm pretty sure it had Moose throwing 78 MPH cheese last year. That was the gun, right?
   80. PhillyBooster Posted: March 02, 2006 at 04:53 PM (#1881366)
Phillies win. 6-3.
   81. Sean McNally Posted: March 02, 2006 at 04:53 PM (#1881367)
Ack... good start boys.

See y'all tomorrow afternoon for the re-match.
   83. Meatwad Posted: March 02, 2006 at 05:29 PM (#1881409)
no cubs chatter? bs....the cubs have already blown on lead this year, up 5-1 they gave up a grand slam, swisher then singles, then another home run...going to be a long year

   85. Matt Waters Posted: March 02, 2006 at 06:04 PM (#1881435)
A few observations:

1. Gavin Floyd looked real ordinary, that might not be a fair assesment of his overall ability, but that's the impression I got.
2. Aaron Small was up in the zone, but did feature a nifty change up.
3. Joe Torre was laughing at Mike Myers.
   86. PhillyBooster Posted: March 02, 2006 at 06:49 PM (#1881478)
Forget the Cubs (who have tied it up, but the way).

Where's my WBC chatter?

I am neither Taiwanese nor Korean, but I feel the need to adopt one or the other and cheer with the zeal of a convert.
   87. Sean McNally Posted: March 02, 2006 at 06:57 PM (#1881494)
Where's my WBC chatter?

What the heck time is that game?
   88. PhillyBooster Posted: March 02, 2006 at 07:03 PM (#1881499)
That would be 10 PM in the East, 7 PM in the West, and sometime the heck tomorrow morning in the Far East.

frigging mlb.tv ain't working for the first game, gonna be a long year!
   91. PhillyBooster Posted: March 03, 2006 at 02:45 PM (#1882632)
Phils up 1-0 after 2 innings for Friday's game. WRight loaded up the bases in the first, and then gave up a single/SB/RBI single to Kata/Rollins in the second.

Lieberthal has a CS in the first and a pickoff of Giambi from first in the second. Must be Liebie's contract year!
   92. I Love LA (OFF) Posted: March 03, 2006 at 02:49 PM (#1882643)
Wright looks like he could win 20 games this year.
   93. Bicycle RepairMan Posted: March 03, 2006 at 02:50 PM (#1882644)
Braves getting whupped by Dodgers.
Joel Guzman looked horrible in his AB there though
Loney drills a line drive and a good defensive play so far
   94. PhillyBooster Posted: March 03, 2006 at 02:51 PM (#1882649)
RBI double by Cano in the third. Then A-Rod drives in Cano with a ROE.

2-1 Yanks.
   95. I Love LA (OFF) Posted: March 03, 2006 at 02:54 PM (#1882656)
A-Rod ain't playing. He's more Dominican than plantain.
   96. Bicycle RepairMan Posted: March 03, 2006 at 02:58 PM (#1882665)
good ol Jaret wright. its probably just the pressure of pitching in new york

Big boy Howard just launched one.
   98. I Love LA (OFF) Posted: March 03, 2006 at 03:01 PM (#1882668)
Rowand makes it back to back. After being dominated by Wright's arsenal, the Phillies are hammering DePaula.
   99. PhillyBooster Posted: March 03, 2006 at 03:01 PM (#1882669)
Right. Not A-Rod. Phillips.

Back to back Phillie homers of DePaula, I believe.
   100. I Love LA (OFF) Posted: March 03, 2006 at 03:06 PM (#1882682)
Since I'm more American than the hamburger, I'm going to say DePaula isn't making the Yankees.
