Water main break. Believe it or not.
   6. Met Fan Charlie Posted: April 30, 2008 at 01:23 PM (#2764225)
OK, just found out: water main break in Flushing. There's a joke in there, somewhere...
   7. Fat Al Posted: April 30, 2008 at 01:23 PM (#2764227)

Heilman's pretty good at it, too.
   12. Conor Posted: April 30, 2008 at 01:56 PM (#2764288)
I am not going to want to sign Perez with all these walks.
   13. Met Fan Charlie Posted: April 30, 2008 at 01:58 PM (#2764291)
Can't tell if we have Ollie The Good or the other guy today...
   14. Met Fan Charlie Posted: April 30, 2008 at 02:03 PM (#2764299)
This offense isn't gonna get healthy if Gorzelanny (sp?) starts everybody off 0-2...
   15. Met Fan Charlie Posted: April 30, 2008 at 02:07 PM (#2764308)
INJURY DELAY?????????
   16. Russlan is glad the 2008 season is over Posted: April 30, 2008 at 02:09 PM (#2764312)
Beltran had a stinger, MFC. No big deal.

This team is drawing a lot of walks.
   17. Met Fan Charlie Posted: April 30, 2008 at 02:11 PM (#2764316)
Whew. OK.

Too bad, Churchy...
   18. Met Fan Charlie Posted: April 30, 2008 at 02:14 PM (#2764325)
I think we've got the other guy.

Oy. Ollie's giving me vertigo.
   21. Russlan is glad the 2008 season is over Posted: April 30, 2008 at 02:21 PM (#2764338)
Oliver walks the eighth hitter, and has now walked the bases loaded. Ugh.
   22. Conor Posted: April 30, 2008 at 02:22 PM (#2764339)
He's walked 20 men in 28 and 2 thirds innings.
   23. Conor Posted: April 30, 2008 at 02:22 PM (#2764343)
Maine and Perez need to work deeper into games to take some pressure off of the bullpen.
   24. The Mets are haplo53's Zen experience Posted: April 30, 2008 at 02:23 PM (#2764345)
Start the buses.
   25. Hey, it's what Johan uses (Matt) Posted: April 30, 2008 at 02:23 PM (#2764346)
Argh.
   26. Russlan is glad the 2008 season is over Posted: April 30, 2008 at 02:23 PM (#2764347)
Jeez, Castillo boots the tail-made double play ball.
   27. The Mets are haplo53's Zen experience Posted: April 30, 2008 at 02:24 PM (#2764351)
To be fair, the strike zone looks like it's the size of a postage stamp today.
   28. Hey, it's what Johan uses (Matt) Posted: April 30, 2008 at 02:25 PM (#2764354)
Crapstillo sucks.
   29. Met Fan Charlie Posted: April 30, 2008 at 02:27 PM (#2764356)
Holy Crap, Ollie sux today!
   30. Met Fan Charlie Posted: April 30, 2008 at 02:27 PM (#2764357)

   31. Lassus Posted: April 30, 2008 at 02:28 PM (#2764358)
I just tuned in at work on Yahoo, and, um, eek.
   32. Conor Posted: April 30, 2008 at 02:28 PM (#2764360)
Since his first start, he has thrown 21 and two thirds and walked 20 guys.
   33. The Mets are haplo53's Zen experience Posted: April 30, 2008 at 02:28 PM (#2764361)
Perez is gone.
   34. Hey, it's what Johan uses (Matt) Posted: April 30, 2008 at 02:29 PM (#2764362)
Bad Ollie. Bad, bad Ollie.

So is this game.
   36. The Mets are haplo53's Zen experience Posted: April 30, 2008 at 02:30 PM (#2764365)
Wow.
   37. Met Fan Charlie Posted: April 30, 2008 at 02:31 PM (#2764366)
OH COME FRIKKEN ON!
   38. Hey, it's what Johan uses (Matt) Posted: April 30, 2008 at 02:33 PM (#2764368)
I'm glad Willie waited on that one.
   39. Chris Dial Posted: April 30, 2008 at 02:33 PM (#2764369)
Not a good start. You know, Castillo, we need you not to juggle every goddammed ball hit to you.
   40. Chris Dial Posted: April 30, 2008 at 02:35 PM (#2764374)
Well, I guess this one is over. I doubt we can score 7 runs.
   41. Met Fan Charlie Posted: April 30, 2008 at 02:36 PM (#2764377)
It looked like he fielded it clean, but it got stuck in his glove when he went to shovel it to Reyes.
   42. Hey, it's what Johan uses (Matt) Posted: April 30, 2008 at 02:36 PM (#2764378)
Hell of an inning.
   43. Met Fan Charlie Posted: April 30, 2008 at 02:37 PM (#2764379)
Well, I guess this one is over. I doubt we can score 7 runs.

We don't score that many in a week!
   44. Russlan is glad the 2008 season is over Posted: April 30, 2008 at 02:38 PM (#2764381)
Castillo is generally surehanded. He has lost some range but the hands are supposed to be good. He's been awful in that regard the last two days.

Still, this team isn't getting nearly enough innings from its starters and the walks are a huge problem.

I hope Pedro comes back soon. I can live with guys giving hits and homers. I can't live with 3 or 4 walks, or more, every start.
   45. Chris Dial Posted: April 30, 2008 at 02:39 PM (#2764385)
I can't live with 3 or 4 walks, or more, every start.

How about 5 in one inning?

And walks do ALOT less damage than hits and HRs.
   46. Russlan is glad the 2008 season is over Posted: April 30, 2008 at 02:40 PM (#2764388)
And walks do ALOT less damage than hits and HRs.

Of course. You know what I am saying, Chris. Don't be annoying.
   47. Met Fan Charlie Posted: April 30, 2008 at 02:42 PM (#2764391)
GUSgusgusgusgus...

I know you never play, but after the guy in front of you walks on 4 straight balls, you DO NOT swing at the first 2 pitches you see! IDIOT!
   48. Met Fan Charlie Posted: April 30, 2008 at 02:43 PM (#2764392)
Correction: 1st 3 pitches you see. IDIOT!
   49. Chris Dial Posted: April 30, 2008 at 02:54 PM (#2764416)
Don't be annoying.

You know, that may be annoying to you, but this
"I can live with guys giving hits and homers. I can't live with 3 or 4 walks, or more, every start." is annoying to me.
   50. Chris Dial Posted: April 30, 2008 at 03:04 PM (#2764431)
We need some FGs to catch up to that TD.
   51. AJM Posted: April 30, 2008 at 03:09 PM (#2764438)
I forgot it was an afternoon game...7-0, I'm glad I missed that.
   52. Chris Dial Posted: April 30, 2008 at 03:09 PM (#2764439)
This is a good time for Pagan's first HR.
   53. Chris Dial Posted: April 30, 2008 at 03:10 PM (#2764440)
I forgot it was an afternoon game...7-0, I'm glad I missed that.

the Bus (TM) took it in from 3 yards out.
   54. Chris Dial Posted: April 30, 2008 at 03:11 PM (#2764443)
blargh
   55. Met Fan Charlie Posted: April 30, 2008 at 03:13 PM (#2764444)
Good to see I haven't missed much, chatter-wise...
   56. Chris Dial Posted: April 30, 2008 at 03:36 PM (#2764468)
eh, people are at work.
   57. Chris Dial Posted: April 30, 2008 at 03:47 PM (#2764486)
Just leave Sosa in.
   58. CrosbyBird Posted: April 30, 2008 at 04:43 PM (#2764541)
Okay, 9th inning, down by 12. Rally time!
   59. CrosbyBird Posted: April 30, 2008 at 04:47 PM (#2764548)
Or not.
   60. Billy Wagner's tears Posted: May 01, 2008 at 12:55 AM (#2764826)
Another 2 hit effort. I'm so glad I bought a house and waited to purchase an MLB TV package till I was completely settled in it.

I realize its not as bad as their record shows, but this team is an absolute bore to watch. Only a healthy Pedro might bring back the joy.

And lets give Russlan some crecit from the day the trade was made he said Church was legit and though its early it appears that he is.
