Mather is brought up, Duncan is sent down. I know many have clamored for this, but I'm not sure this is the time to do it, oh well, lets see what an outfield of Mather, Ankiel, Ludwick can produce

It should be interesting - Mather is for sure in the lineup?

The Bucs have kicked the crap out of the Cards so far, hopefully Wellemeyer keeps up his bizarrely good season.

Mather is for sure in the lineup, and is batting 2nd in a rare show of TLR approval.

al hrabosky said he talked to fredbird before the game. heh.

Bizarre OF alignment - Ludwick in CF, Ankiel is LF, Mather in RF. Not sure about Mather's D, but I would have gone Mather-Ankiel-Ludwick. Whatever.

Too bad Mather couldn't REALLY start his career off with a bang and make that catch.
   7. baseballing powerhouse (phredbird) Posted: May 30, 2008 at 08:19 PM (#2800441)
oh fer gosh sakes.
   8. Guts Posted: May 30, 2008 at 08:24 PM (#2800449)
Ryan always goes huge around 1st base. Aggressive. I like it.

Ok, Joe, start the old career with a HR.
   9. Guts Posted: May 30, 2008 at 08:26 PM (#2800457)
Extremely small sample size scouting report on Mather - SWINGS AT EVERYTHING. Hopefully this is just nerves.

Ok, he laid off some pitches.
   10. Guts Posted: May 30, 2008 at 08:26 PM (#2800459)
And hits the ball hard, right to McLouth. Oh well.
   11. Guts Posted: May 30, 2008 at 08:30 PM (#2800467)
Albert picks up the ball for you this time, rook. Don't count it happening more than 50% of the time.

ah, i never get tired of seeing that!
   13. Guts Posted: May 30, 2008 at 08:38 PM (#2800491)
Wow, Mather with a hell of a catch. He obviously read "Rick Ankiel's Guide to Ingratiating Yourself to Cardinals Fans."
   14. Guts Posted: May 30, 2008 at 08:40 PM (#2800496)
ah, i never get tired of seeing that!

Yeah, it never really gets old, even after all these years!

Wait, Barton is in this game? WTF?

Hm, FSN lied to me, or I can't read. I thought that lineup was weird.
   16. Guts Posted: May 30, 2008 at 08:46 PM (#2800506)
Anyway, 2nd and 3rd no outs. Bad news - Wellemeyer hitting.

Speaking of pitchers hitting, you know who's on a tear? Looper has 7 hits so far. 7!!

Barton was too slow there, another DP. But run scores, so it's ok.
   17. Guts Posted: May 30, 2008 at 08:48 PM (#2800511)
Speaking of WTF, Eyechart is playing 3rd? Really?
   18. Guts Posted: May 30, 2008 at 08:51 PM (#2800520)
Albert makes what must be an OOZ play.
   19. Guts Posted: May 30, 2008 at 09:01 PM (#2800534)
Geez, Albert really laid that one in there. He is really reacting to the Bonds treatment by hitting liners all over the park.
   20. Guts Posted: May 30, 2008 at 09:20 PM (#2800583)
Izturis being a worthy starter has truly been mystifying this year. Of course, his "competition" is Kennedy and Miles.
   21. Guts Posted: May 30, 2008 at 09:21 PM (#2800586)
I'll give this game one thing, it is moving like lightning.
   22. Guts Posted: May 30, 2008 at 09:42 PM (#2800637)
Albert gives the ball a ride, but PA number 3 is an out.
   23. Guts Posted: May 30, 2008 at 10:53 PM (#2800825)
Jesus ####### christ this bullpen is worthless.
   24. Guts Posted: May 30, 2008 at 10:54 PM (#2800828)
Still a win, despite the pen desperately trying to give it up.
