That wasn't so stressful - no one even got past first base.

Two lame AB's.

Hope we snap out of this funk soon

Russel Crowe is a part owner of my favorite footy team out here. Check this out from last night....

Earlier, though, it seemed he was destined for a night out against the Bunnies in his 100th game for the Knights when he scored late in the first half.

MacDougall endured an acrimonious split with the Rabbitohs last season, trading verbal barbs with Crowe as he left the club on bad terms.

He didn't waste the opportunity to have another go at the Hollywood star tonight.

After scoring the try, MacDougall showed off his own acting skills by mimicking Crowe's infamous 2005 mobile-phone-throwing incident in a New York hotel.

He pretended to push buttons on the football as if it was a phone, and then tossed the ball gently at the head of teammate Cooper Vuna.

It was a moment of levity in an otherwise hard-fought clash between two clubs battling for a finals berth.

The guy in the booth is the backflip guy, I guess. Admittedly, a grown man doing a backflip from a dead stand is pretty impressive.
   29. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: June 29, 2007 at 07:34 PM (#2422926)
NESN is built on the Red Sox. The station would not exist if not for the Red Sox. Therefore, I simply cannot understand why they don't think the baseball game alone is enough to hold their viewers' interest.
   30. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: June 29, 2007 at 07:36 PM (#2422934)

Err Cora.
   38. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: June 29, 2007 at 07:40 PM (#2422954)

Not scoring with first/third and no outs is one thing; we're kind of used to that. But having that happen against Jamey Wright?
   41. jim in providence Posted: June 29, 2007 at 07:41 PM (#2422959)
At least the Cora out brought that horrible interview to a close.

OhMYGOD! I realize that Lagavulin is a powerful drink, but I'm utterly dismayed to learn that I passed out after a small indulgence and have now woken up in the top of the eighth!

Jamey Wright, BTW

After the big win by my boys Souths last night, I pulled out a Talisker.

It was great. Had to brush my teet afterwards before I got into bed. Bloody women!!!

I really hate Mirrabelli. He can't hit, can't throw and closes his ####### eyes and prays when Wakefield pitches

Bloody women!!!

Really? More than one? Perhaps you'll share the details when the Sox blow this out in the 4th.

I love good second basemen who get bloop doubles....
   52. Chip Posted: June 29, 2007 at 07:54 PM (#2423003)
Pedroia looked like he limped all the way to second on that bloop, after fouling that ball off his foot on the previous pitch.

LOL-hit that off his shoetops.

Ok, so I just realized that I've been watching this game with a ten-minute delay. My daughter was experimenting with the DVR.

Go, Papi!

Papi is due.
   59. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: June 29, 2007 at 07:59 PM (#2423018)
I would just like to make it clear to the Red Sox that the pitcher they are facing is Jamey Wright, not Sandy Koufax.

That was quite the strange bounce that ball took.

Can we please score this time?

Lowell swing on the 2-1 was a shocker.
   67. Chip Posted: June 29, 2007 at 08:14 PM (#2423048)
Lowell swings at ball three to get Wright back even in the count. On a pitch that was about 12 feet outside.
   68. Chip Posted: June 29, 2007 at 08:15 PM (#2423049)
What a ####### awful AB.
   69. Biff, Red Sox Jinx Posted: June 29, 2007 at 08:15 PM (#2423050)

   75. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: June 29, 2007 at 08:18 PM (#2423060)
Cora is ####### hopeless. The useless #### couldn't even clear the pitchers spot.
   76. Chip Posted: June 29, 2007 at 08:20 PM (#2423065)
Oh jesus christ. Another absolutely godawful AB from Cora. And he had a 1.000+ OPS against Wright in 25 career PAs coming into this game.
   77. Elevate Phil Coorey Later Posted: June 29, 2007 at 08:22 PM (#2423073)

That was a mental mistake by the 3B: always go to first with a guy on third & 2 outs, for exactly that reason. They teach that in Little League I believe.

I know Manny's not the fastest guy, but I don't think he would have gotten him at first.

More kooky fun with the knuckler!
   100. Chip Posted: June 29, 2007 at 08:48 PM (#2423149)
Sosa has taken some embarrassingly bad swings at the knuckler. And then he stood like a statue in the box on the passed ball strike three.
